Nightblades will tell you to use area of effect skills like caltrops or cinderstorm.

But really what you need to do is go to an alchemy stand and mix some cornflower & wormwood (and water hyacinth if you want a bump to your weapon crit).
Unsubbed and no longer playing, but still checking the Alliance War forum for the lulz.

    You have a few options:

    1) Radiant Magelight: This ability summons an orb that negates the stealth attack bonus damage from sneak as well as the stun from said attack. In addition, you'll be able see stealthed or invisible enemies in a 10m radius around you, as well as providing spell crit.

    2) Detection Potions: Made from Wormwood, Corn Flower and either Water Hyacinth or Lady's Smock, this potion provides a 15 second (In 1.7, 40 in 1.6) of being able see stealthed or invisible enemies in a 20m radius around you.

    3) Any AoE: Any AoE pulls stealthers from sneak (Nightblades are not the only class sneaking you know) and Nightblades from cloak. Revealing Flare has the added benifit of preventing them from re-entering stealth for 8 seconds after being hit by it.

Insanity is the price of Knowledge. Herma-Mora and Sheogorath, this one bows before thee.

This one does not advocate for any class to be nerfed. There are far deeper underlying issues then a simple "Class Imbalance". The Champion System is the problem. Not classes.

Remember you can sneak yourself. A nightblade(or anyone else for that matter) can only jump you if he knows you're there.
If you don't want to sneak, travel in a group with other friendly players.

Since you are stamina and propably built for melee range, radiant magelight morph would be your best/cheapest bet unless you want/have gold for detection pots :)

Radiant magelight is a lifesaver when traveling with the reduced sneak damage.

If you are traveling from keep to keep, there is nothing you can do as you can't spam AOE's on a horse or is there any detect ability that a nightblade can't stay out of range, so until they balance how OP Cloak is, run as a group, defend and don't go into open areas as there is not a lot a single person can do against a good gank squad. The only class that can run solo is NB as if they are ganked and skilled enough that NB can just simply hit their I-win button and Cloak away. NB aren't OP because they can attack from cloak, but they are OP because they can escape any fight at anytime and go places all other classes cannot, if they have half a brain. Non NB must change their play style to that classes strength or roll NB.

LOL. OP. yea ok. Considering every.single.damaging.ability breaks cloak and as a Stam NB I have maybe 4 good casts of it (if it even works), it def does NOT feel OP. It actually takes skill to get away from a competent player/group. My advice is play as a NB and learn the best spots to retreat to. That way when you play a NON NB class you can head to those same hiding spots and eventually catch them out of cloak. Cloak is literally what makes NB its own class considering they are SUPPOSED to go invisible. It's up to the enemy player to figure out how to counter that, because lets face it, there are TONS of counters to cloak.

They can slot radiant magelight, specially on horseback.

A 20k snipe from a pure glass cannon will then hit for 10k or less. And most gankers don't hit those numbers.

If its a group of them, then you're supposed to be [snip] if you are solo. Or any other class who jumps you in group.

AoE stuff will generally pull folks out of cloak/invisibility.

Talons for a DK.... added bonus of holding them in place so you can attack them.

Velocious Curse for a sorc ... and it has the added bonus of not triggering (or costing) if there is no one there.

If you get high enough in alliance, Caltrops (of course).

In addition to what else has been posted here, I recommend keeping Igneous Shield up at all times.

I know that having to cast shield spells every 20 seconds isn't a fun game mechanic but that is how you win in Cyrodiil these days.

You can't cloak curse away, so cast it everytime you see him.. It's annoying as f* as NB since the dmg will break it.

That is what it seems to be doing for me in Cyrodiil. I'm not sure if it's only hidden and not stealthed, but sometimes it triggers and someone is there, and sometimes I hit the key on my bar and no one is there and nothing happens.

Conversely any use of Talons does trigger and cost magicka, even if no one is there.

    Well....

So far I've NOT yet had someone suddenly jump out of where I've attempted to cast a curse and not had it trigger.

What I have found is if an NB cloaks I can still cast Inevitable Detonation on him when he is cloaked. I think it's a known issue (?) that single target casts will hit a cloaked NB, which I heard is supposed to be fixed in the IC update. I guess I never noticed if Curse will land on a cloaked NB too. If that's what's happening it would make a bit more sense to me.

A cheap trick if you're trying to flush out stealthers in your keep after a defense/offense (or something like that) is to go into stealth yourself and watch for a half-open eye. If you can't see any enemies, then a stealthed enemy is near your detection radius.

Ironically, this tactic works best for people who are not good at stealth.
