GAME CRASHING HAS RETURNED :(

Here we are again, ESO took a 2 month step backwards on the last patch.

My PC is once again hard resetting after 5 minutes or less of gameplay. NOTHING has changed on my side, and it's NOT overheating(not even close). Same drivers, same flash version, same everything that was working just perfect a week ago, or a month ago. Does someone on ESO's side keep changing the minimum acceptable client version of flash or some driver with each new patch? I don't even know how it's possible your game can cause my whole PC to hard reset.

ESO is the only application that has ever caused my PC to crash.

This so called OPENGL fix halves my fps which makes Cyrodill unplayable especially during sieges. If I dont use OPENGL my game crashes and often when I log back in crashes within the first 3 seconds again mostly during sieges. My guess is that particle effects are causing the game to crash. I just hope 1.7 fixes this issue.
Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

Okay, it's lather-rinse-repeat time. This fix's new and exciting crash is me crashing when changing zones or logging between toons. Per usual, no bug screen to report so no automated bug reporting. Of course, according to Zmax, it's my build--they haven't even bothered following up on my last two tickets, even though I replied directly to an admin here.

I wanted to point out for mobile systems the 353.62 Nvidia driver may be bugged for Windows 8.1 laptop systems. I encountered a blue screen error the other day while playing ESO, and after some testing and research this driver was the cause of my blue screen issue.

Some like myself are being dc'd because the servers are blocking my data packets being sent to the server, which lasts about 15 seconds (sometimes more) if lucky the client picks up the return of the packets before the dc, otherwise bam.

Sometimes it will come up saying there is an error try again in a few minutes, other times it's straight to the menu.

It is becoming tiresome and I have only came back after a while for a few days so far to be hit with this constantly, I had one bout of 3 hrs worth of playing during the early hours this morning, but it returned at 7am.

So... that makes me think, the servers are under heavy load and can't handle so many concurrent connections at once, and systematically knock off anyone with an average latency of 70-100.

Doubt this. 70-100 is almost unheard of latency for me and I almost never get server disconnects on the servers I use (see below)

I am almost always getting 100+ FPS with very very very low latency on the highest settings.. whether in big zerg battles in Cyrodiil or just questing. However I do notice that when I "move too fast" as I basically memorize all pathing in the game in every area of this game by now so I move around quickly constantly applying rapid maneuver on a maxed out mount. This game seems to lock up only when moving fast for me (randomly, there is no guaranteed way to repeat it other than keep moving fast). My main is a NB. I even play my DK fast. It's how I learned the game. Everything I do, combat, etc.. I'm all over the place like a mad-man confusing his opponents as I slay them.... however the game seems to almost not be able to keep up.... my PC can run this game while multi-tasking several other games.... I have a feeling that this game, being a 32-bit application, can not fully take advantage of those of us on 64-bit O/S with plenty of RAM to spare and it locks up when you give it too much to do too quickly.

I don't get the locked up screens all of the time, but only when really zooming around fast. I know this thread is a bit older and most likely a different issue than what the OP posted about, however a frozen game is a frozen game.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Any word on this from your Dev team? Any thing you'd like me to test? About 90% of the time (literally) this is happening only when moving with Rapid Maneuver applied (retreating morph).

Same here since 2.12, but now on 2.15 and OpenGL there are less relog and wayshrine crashes. Though, maybe it's because I play on mid-low settings now (ridiculous, before 2.12 I could run the game perfectly on highest settings on Direct X 11).
No sieges for me again (the game lags and crashes in couple of minutes) - too bad, I was starting to like sieges so much before 2.12 came.

Yeah when I had originally started playing it didn't seem like it had crashed at all. Now that I'm level 14 and starting to explore more I can almost expect to crash every 5 minutes. It's really annoying especially when it happens when I'm fighting mobs because it keeps me in the game and I have to repair stuff after dying because of it. I just started playing yesterday after not playing since Beta and my game has crashed easily over 20 times and am also in daggerfall. This is horrible but I don't want to stop playing D: plox halp.

Just going to add to this post. Since I posted this I have crashed around another 20-30 times. I run the game at about 50-60fps. Everything will fine and then it will just go to a black screen and then error report. I don't understand.

    Just one more curious tings.

In dungeon i never crash, even if i'm with high settings in the midle of storm of effets. But in town like daggerfall or stormhaven the crash is there watting, even if i'm stopped in one place looking to the wall the crash comes (the supports says that this is because of my video card, i say it's *** because how can i play a dungeon in high video setting with effect ranning and i cant stand alone in town with low video setting and nothing happening).

Cyrodill as i said, is out of question, more crashes than anyother place.

From what i'm seeing, i crash more in open world than in a house/dungeon/inside a keep

    @ Ze.nimax
Will you do someting about those crashes? or you will lose players? because i'm not seeing myself in the future playing this game if it crashes every 5 minutes. This topic has 285 replies and 23.8k views, wich means it's not an ordinary bug, its something abou the game.

Yeah I don't crash as often when I'm not in Cyrodil I noticed, but what sucks the most is I had played the game in beta with hundreds if not thousands of other players doing sieges all at once and wouldn't crash but now I can't even run through an empty field by myself without crashing every 10-15 minutes. Sometimes even less than that. Makes meh sad. Am cry now. Q_Q

I've noticed that playing in OpenGL mode seems to help with the crashing. I don't understand why I can't play the game using directx though. From playing with directx to OpenGL I go from 50-60 fps using directx to 10-20 using OpenGL. Game is barely even playable. This isn't even a new issue. There are posts about this *** all the way back from April of 2014. How is this not fixed yet? Not okay.

I've also been crashing a TON since I installed Win10 (my bad - I know). I tried all the above. What I did find is that changing this line in the UserSettings.txt file from: SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11" to: SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D9" - I get no more crashes!

It doesnt run as smooth, textures can take longer to load and I get some video lag here and there...but again, I don't crash anymore. YMMV of course...

By the Eight, THIS. THIS. I crash for absolutely no reason in towns, running around the woods, etc.

And yes RE it looks like Windows 10 is not the cure-all, despite the fact that this seems to be the only recommendation that I get from tech help these days. It would totally suck to buy a new rig or upgrade my old one and STILL have ESO be the ONLY thing that won't run smoothly.

The big drum being beaten here by Zmax tends to be "get a 64 bit OS" but even those folks have issues it seems.

Anyone who has been playing on PC for a long time (e.g. since beta or launch in 2014), if you are having a lot of issues in cities, try what seems to have worked for me: do a complete UNINSTALL and Reinstall of the game, including the launcher etc. (save your Addons folder etc.). This seems to have made a big improvement to my game performance; it's as good as it was back when I started. I can only speculate that something in the cumulative patching process makes for a very slow process for loading game files or something. We might need to repeat the complete reinstall every 6 months or so ongoing.
Warning: the game downloads nearly 40GB worth of files; this can take a while on slower connections (15 hours for me).

So I checked the client logs and found this

Failed to create index buffer: hr=8007000e

I had also found another post here on the forums of somebody that looked into it further and apparently this happens when a program does not support the amount of RAM that it is trying to use. I'm assuming this game at this point is not meant to be run on a 32bit OS and that ESO has left this out before allowing people to pay 60$ for their *** game. This is *** garbage. Absolute *** trash. Fix your *** game. *** respond to this ***. *** DO SOMETHING!

It's nothing special but it's enough to play the game and most other games between 30-60fps

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 10240)
    AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 220 Processor (2CPUs), ~2.8GHz
    4096MB RAM
    AMD Radeon HD 6570

I know I severely need an upgrade but like I said before I played in beta with hundreds of players on screen at once and never crashed like this. :( I also sit between 40-60fps when I'm playing. I wonder if maybe I capped my framerate if that would fix it? Could be spiking to hard or something. I'm not sure. Q_Q The game ran very well the first day that I played but it seems like the further I progress the worse it gets.

This is my live update. I have deleted my ESO user files in my documents entirely. I have also before launching the game decided to do the initial launch with everything on minimum settings because I heard that it changes some of the shaders or something only when launched on minimum. I have been playing longer now then I have been able to for the last couple days. Still haven't crashed since I have done this. I will let you guys know what else happens. My snow isn't shiny anymore but if that means I can play then hells ye!
