GAME CRASHING HAS RETURNED :(

Yes I have been having this prob since, well, game launch. And they removed the crash reporter long ago (many months ago) in some update, so they don't even (want to) know about it. I believe there is no point in complaining about it, since we did many months and they don't seem to care enough to do anything about it. We (my wife and I, we both have high-end gaming computers) gave up on complaining about it A YEAR ago. The freeze happens to her as well, just about as frequent, and she has a different build, but with the same graphics cards. It only freezes up about twice a day for each of us, on the average. If it happened only after many minutes/hours of gaming I would suspect an overheating prob, but no, sometimes even happens just after starting my computer and playing for only a minute, and other times I play for many hours on days when the room is very hot and it doesn't lock up/crash. So I have to assume it is definitely a game code problem. My system specs:

    Intel Core i7-3930K
    Asus Rampage IV Extreme motherboard
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 4x4Gb DDR3 1866 F3-14900CL8Q-16GBZM
2x Sapphire Technology ATI Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition OC 2 GB Xfire - I turn off Xfire for ESO and all TES games.
    Crucial M4 SSD 256GB - OS
3x WD Black 500GB data and games JBOD
    Corsair CMPSU-1000HX 1000-Watt Power Supply
    Corsair H100 closed-loop AIO CPU cooler, AS5
    2x Excalibur 120mm PWM CPU Fan p-p
CD/DVD DL combo drive Pioneer DVR-S18MBK
    Auzen X-Fi Bravura 7.1
    Dell U2412m IPS monitor 1920x1200

Satellite Internet (Wildblue) 400KB/sec (KBytes) measured download speed, 3Mbps (Mbits). Officially, upload speed is 1/4 download speed, but actual tests show around 30Kbps (or less). Ping times are around 1000ms to anywhere, 800-900 if lucky. It takes time for the radio signals to get to/from the Satellite (at the speed of light). Could be latency issues, lots of latency in Satellite Internet.

    Hello @Threemoons !

We do see that you have a support ticket open for this issue. Would you please be able to reply back to it with a Game Consultant and an msinfo report? This can provide our agents some more information regarding what could be causing your system to crash.

For any other players who have not yet submitted a ticket, please be sure to do so. We currently have several open threads regarding crashes, but they can be caused by different things for different players. We understand how frustrating this issue is, but our agents need to see what your system specs are to be able to narrow down the causes of these issues.

Hey, I actually do have a ticket open. It got interrupted when I moved my apartment, but reopened it:

    Incident: 150627-003396

The Patch Manifest Error nonsense has stopped, but now I just crash everywhere. For no reason.

THIS. The game just freezes and glitches sometimes only 5 minutes in, in an AC'd room. Sometimes it's OK for hours.

Why does this game just hang until I ctrl-alt-del ....? seriously, I can't remember the last time I got a crash report. The game just hangs ever once in awhile and for no apparent reason, my memory spikes, system locks up, and there's never a report to fill out anymore. This games stability has gotten worse over time and I'm crashing more than ever lately. So yea ZoS even though your not getting "crash reports" I'm still crashing!!

I'm not sure if this will help, but try lowering the two particle effect settings way down. I noticed when I got a hard freeze a little bit ago I was right next to a fire effect so it may help.

In the meantime, I have a ticket open with Zmax.

Constant crashing out today, mind you yesterday it was fine. I just wish they would find a definite reason why it happens. It seems totally random to me. I never change any of my settings and I have not added any new addons. This is a problem Zeni needs to look into.

    Hi,

If you have a 32bits windows and a powerful video card, your sistem will crash. Upgrade to 64bits or install a cheaper video card. This was the ZOS response to my ticket. (They increased the minimun system requirements over a month ago).

I installed Windows 7 64 bits and the crashes went away...

    Bye.

Thanks for sharing that, but most know by now that 32bit is a thing of the past. It's really a waste of time to be on here asking for help when you have a 32bit system, because the first troubleshooting option is to upgrade that. Most of the posts here about crashing are due to patches and some underlying cause that's been in the game since launch.

Well, after beta testing this game and playing successfully since launch, I have now been told that my 32-bit system doesn't cut it, so no more support for me.

Guess they want me to go out and buy a new PS4 so I can help them test that faulty platform for free also.

Nice slap in the face, ZMax. Would appreciate better customer service on this.

If someone can get me someone accountable I'm happy to work offline to test potential solutions. Screwing your beta base for the sake of easy fixes--which apparently don't even work for everyone--isn't working.

this is my support ticket: These are some troubleshootings I would suggest you:

    1) update all your drivers (especially graphics and sound, they look quite obsolete)

    2) create an exception for the game with your Avira antivirus

    3) To best access The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, please configure your routers to open the following outbound ports:

    TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
    TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507
    TCP / UDP Ports 24300 through 24331

Please also note that Ports 80 and 443 should be open to allow general HTTP and HTTPS access.

Should you have any other questions, feel free to contact us again. We'll be happy to help you!

I usually don't complain but, 6 hours for a stupid update not fixing anything. Then 30s after entering the game, it crashes.
Now I get it, this game is for masochist >_<, people who get off on crash when they're winning a fight.

Seriously, ugrading is a farce, they said the same thing to me even though i'm using W8 x64. My computer may be a bit old but i've finished witcher 3 without a single crash. It's just a bad excuse for a poorly engineered game.

Did you guys try putting every graphical setting down to the lowest to ensure it's not some bug with the game thinking you don't have good enough hardware? Which I doubt is the case you guys probably have GTX 970's or something. Reason I'm saying this I was getting hard freezes and an occasional crash and found out the particle effects were my problem, once I pressed the default button and then put each one up slowly found out that was the cause but it could be different for you.

    My specs are:
    Intel I7 4700MQ 2.4GHZ Turbo 3.2GHZ.
    Nvidia GeForce GT 755m 2GB GDDR5.
    8GB Memory.
Razer Surround with built in audio or Creative Soundblaster 5.1 Omni External Soundcard.
39" 1080p HDTV connect via HDMI.
    20" 1600 X 900 Monitor connected via VGA.
    14" 1366 X 768 built in laptop screen.
Wireless Keyboard & Mouse, external soundcard, and EXT HDD's all connected via USB.

Also for the hell of it, make sure the problem is not caused by any external hardware you may have connected just to be safe. Otherwise good luck and I hope you find a fix you seek.

Yeah, I got the exact cut and paste support email. IT didn't work. My drivers ARE up to date, the port forwarding thing..yeah well..that would work IF I couldn't LOG ON IN THE FIRST place. I can log on..I just can't STAY logged on. I disabled ALL add-ons, lowered my graphic settings, raised them etc..NOTHING fixes it. I can't stay logged on for more than 30 seconds..and that would be a LONG time compared to the normal 10 seconds of playing time.

I have a 32bit system and support didn't mention a thing about it being an issue now. My system is more than adequate to handle this game. I am sick and tired of the pass off - it "being the players machines." I completely agree with another forum threads post:

    4. Stop telling your players that it is their machines, as it is clearly not, it is your own design that is causing incompatibilities with user configurations that had previously been well within advertised limits.

Well, after a week or two of constant back and forth with support I finally have my answer and yes I am beyond angry, I understand that the game environment changes, but to do this a YEAR after the game came out and NOT tell people it will stop people from playing (I just purchased it a few months back) and continue to post on their product purchase page the minimum requirements (mine surpass all these ACCEPT the 32bit part) to PLAY the game is:

    PC MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

    Operating System: Windows 7 32-bit
Processor: Intel® i3 or AMD 3870 generation processors or higher
    Memory: 3GB System RAM
Hard Disk Space: 85GB free HDD space
    Video Card: DirectX 11.0 compliant video card with 1GB of RAM (NVIDIA® GeForce® 460 / AMD Radeon™ 6850)
    Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
    Internet Broadband Connection

IF 32 bit is no longer acceptable for being able to PLAY the game then CHANGE it to state a 64bit is REQUIRED and is considered the MINIMUM:

    "Greetings,

My name is Molly and I'm a member of our Escalations Team here at ESOTU. I have reviewed your ticket as well as the forum threads involving this issue and I do apologize for any incorrect steps provided.

Upon reviewing your system report, I do see that your system specs are the likely culprit. I understand that's a frustrating answer, and I apologize for this. In the last patch, we activated certain features that are now drawing on system resources more, and systems that may have been able to previously may begin to have trouble.

The way a 32-bit operating system works is that Windows can only utilize a certain amount of your RAM. When you have a video card that has dedicated VRAM as required, this amount can get added into the total RAM usage for Windows.

From the symptoms you're describing to our recent patches along with your diagnostics, it does appear that your system is limited by your operating system.

While I cannot provide workarounds for how to bypass the memory usage cap for Windows, my team and I are confident that this is where the trouble is.

I do see that this is a frustrating answer, and I do apologize for that frustration, but not all system configurations are guaranteed to run ESO and at this time it does appear that your specific system configuration may continue to have trouble playing.

Thank you again for your patience!

    Warm regards,
    Molly
    The Elder Scrolle Online"

So, for anyone else still playing on apparently an antiquated system good luck! Unless you upgrade there is no way this will be fixed and you will continue to crash and burn.

Welp, after reaching out to Zmax directly, I got a "highest level support tech" to open a ticket. I responded, and it's been over a week. Bumped them two days ago and yesterday, still no pulse. Maybe they are hoping that the latest patch pushdown fixes things.

Add me to the chorus of voices saying that the flat answer of "FU, you need a 64-bit OS" after only a year (and after we put a year of beta testing in on our apparently old machines) is NOT the way to go. As many, many others have pointed out, constantly blaming users' builds without addressing serious issues is not the way to go.

You know it's gonna be a real hootenany when Windows 10 comes out. I am waiting until 10 Pro (NOT Home) drops, and then I will probably upgrade my rig to a whole new box. You know that the thing will have enough processing power to run the NYSE and the Pluto Away Mission and ZMax will still blame my screen saver or something.

    Very frustrated.

But HEY NEW CONTENT AND CROWN STORE STUFF! *facepalm*

Some like myself are being dc'd because the servers are blocking my data packets being sent to the server, which lasts about 15 seconds (sometimes more) if lucky the client picks up the return of the packets before the dc, otherwise bam.

Sometimes it will come up saying there is an error try again in a few minutes, other times it's straight to the menu.

It is becoming tiresome and I have only came back after a while for a few days so far to be hit with this constantly, I had one bout of 3 hrs worth of playing during the early hours this morning, but it returned at 7am.

So... that makes me think, the servers are under heavy load and can't handle so many concurrent connections at once, and systematically knock off anyone with an average latency of 70-100.
