Yup, just got the Error 209 PatchManifest too. I have my firewall and anti-virus excluding ESO and it's contents, peerblock isn't on, and I'm on a wired connection and I still get this. If I remember correctly, only fix for this if it wasn't those, was a fresh reinstall... FML

I got the Patch Manifest Error since the new update...every single time I launch the game after a fresh boot. I blow past it and play anyway. The issue then is that if I log on to more than one toon, it hangs and I need to quit and reboot. Makes bank/inventory mgt really hard, especially since I am segmenting my toons for different crafting skills.

    Meh.

It's like whack a mole. Fix one issue and two more come up.

I also got the Error 209 PatchManifest error after today's patch. Launcher would only allow repair, and repair did nothing to resolve the problem. I attempted to follow the instructions for this error but nothing worked. Reluctantly I Uninstalled ESO. It took me the night time hours of 5 nights to download ESO so it will be next week before I can log in and play again. I just got the game last week. First Patch and boom.

I enjoy the game but this sucks. Not sure this is worth it ... is this what I can expect with every patch?

You have a link to that? So far, other than the patch notes, the game IS more stable....

The 209 manifest error has come clear for me (yesterday). The most likely cause is that one of the load-balanced servers had an out of date patch version, which has now finally been caught and updated. So in future, when you get this error 209 after a patch, do a repair once, but otherwise just ignore it for a few days; keep closing the launcher and restarting it until you can "Play" without getting the error.

Prior to this most recent patch, I could run the game for hours in the day and only start crashing at night within 30-60 minutes of play. After the patch that supposedly fixes crashing issues for Windows 8 (I'm on Win 8.1) I can't stop crashing. I crash every 5-60 minutes, over and over again without any mods running. I'm seriously getting annoyed. At this point, there is NO way I'd pay for a sub to this game because it's barely playable. I've tried every possible fix on every board, no luck. What happened?

    2 THINGS:

    1) Since 2.07 patch, Alt-Tab out of the game crashes the PC. This is above and beyond any pre-2.07 crashes.

    2) I'm starting to notice that every time I create a new character it begins crashing IMMEDIATELY. I was playing with very few crashes on both my lvl 15+ characters. Tonight I created a new character and it crashed my PC 2 times while I was in the character creation mode, talk about duplication of annoying(literally took 3 times to make 1 character). Then it crashed my PC 2 times and froze the game 1 time while I was still inside the 1st city, merely walking around.

Is there any progress on tracking down the sources of these crashing issues? This has been going on for quite some time now. I know for a fact I have no problems with my new PC, it runs perfect and stable on every other program and game on my PC. The only time I can assure my PC will crash is when I start ESO.

I cant imagine this offers a great new player experience. What I can say is that if you survive the crashes long enough to get into the game a few levels, you will start to love the game. Why do I have to have such a love-hate relationship with ESO? :D

Damn I feel sorry for you. I wish you luck. I've seen a couple of your posts around and I noticed you didn't mention add-ons are you by any chance using the"minimap" add on by Fyrakin? Now I could have just missed your posts mentioning that but here's why I'm saying this I run ESO on a prebuilt middle range laptop nothing custom, I used to get hard freezes where the whole screen would freeze and ESO would say not responding in task manager. Then I tried some usersetting.txt tweaks which fixed that for a while, but after updating to Windows 8.1 and installing several more addons it came back, after removing that minimap addon hasn't done it .(yet) I would recommend trying deleting your Usersetting.txt file under the Elder Scrolls Online folder in Documents. Then start the game set your settings to generate a new one then go in the document and change.

    SET RequestedNumJobThreads "-1"
    SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "-1"

    to

    SET RequestedNumJobThreads "0"
    SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "0"

and if you have that minimap addon, remove it. Good Luck and I hope you find a fix soon if it's not this.

    My laptop hardware specs are:
    I7 4700MQ 2.4GHZ Turbo 3.2GHZ
    8GB Memory
    Nvidia GeForce GT 755M 2GB GDDR5
    1366 X 768 14" built in screen.
    Currently using a 1920 X 1080 39" HDTV.

    Yep same problem to me.
Yesterday i was playing ESO without any problems and suddenly it froze.
Restarted the computer and game and after character selection 10 secs in the loading screen the small wheel stops. However he background music keeps playing.
There are 2 wired things happening:
One is that the process status of eso.exe says it is not responding but the memory usage is always changing up and down.
Second is that i also have a second pc, one old laptop that also had one old install of my ESO on it. So i went back to try on it. After some ESO updates i'm getting exactly the same problem on that laptop too.
Tried on both pc's all hacks that i could find on forums by changing UserSetting.txt, running has a administrator, removing all add-ons, reparing the game, disabling firewall and anti-virus, reinstalling .NET framework. No luck!
    My desktop is a i7, gtx970, 16Gb, Win7x64.
    My laptop is a i3, Radeon HD5600, 4Gb, Win7x64.
I wonder if the problem comes from ESO software, ESO eu-server, or from my internet provider blocking ESO connection?

I have two rigs for gaming. Their specs are as follows:

    Rig #1
    Intel Core i5 3450 @ 3.10GHz (4 cores)
    M/B ASRock Z77 Extreme6/TB4 (BIOS V.2.10)
    Memory 2X2GB Kingston KHX1866C9D3/2GX
    GPU Gigabyte G1 Gaming GeForce GTX 960 - 2GB DDR5 (GV-N960G1 GAMING-2GD)
    Sound Card SB X-Fi Platinum
HDD for System WDC WD10EZRX-00A8LB001.0 (1TB - 72% free space)
    OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

    Rig #2
    AMD FX-8350 @ 4.00 GHz (8 cores)
    MB ASRock 990FX Extreme 3 (BIOS V.1.70)
    Memory 2X2GB Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9
    GPU Gigabyte R7 260 OC - 1GB DDR5 (GV-R726XOC-1GD)
    On-board Sound Card
    HDD for System WDC WD25 00AAKX-001CA0 (250GB - 43% free space)
    OS Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Rig #1 used to play without a single frame dropped, on ultimate settings, everything ON, some add-ons enabled (6 actually), max particle systems at 2048 with particles suppression distance at 60 and viewing distance at 100. The same rig plays a mean Skyrim, with tens of graphic mods on. Tough luck though, because since patch 2.0.3 and soon after patch 2.0.4, it crashes after a maximum of five minutes in-game, no matter where the character is or what it does. There is no overheating in the CPU, GPU or even the M/B. I tried everything from setting lower quality standards, applying hints found in this and other fora, driver combinations, registry tweaks, .ini file tweaks and so on and so forth but to no avail. Especially with te 2.0.7 patch, the crashes are almost per minute in-game.

Rig #2 on the other hand, has settings also on Ultimate, same add-ons, everything is ON, max particle systems at 1100 with particles suppression distance at 50 and viewing distance at 60. It lags a bit when first entering a city (until it loads most of the content) but has no major performance issues. Most of all, it doesn't crash. At all. Not even when I have Libre Office, Zimbra mail and 5-6 tabs on Chrome open in the background, with the memory used skyrocketing at 98%. I don't even see a performance difference in the game, with or without all those apps open.

    My own and personal conclusion:
With the launch of the console editions, coding and patching has taken an AMD direction. The team addresses AMD's platform programming and coding issues and has "abandoned" all problems from NVidia's and Intel's systems. I don't expect to see my Rig #1's crashes leaving my system anytime in the near or distant future. I wouldn't like to go any further into this. My suggestion to all Intel and NVidia based gamers is to keep your expectations low.

Haven't played for a week, started yesterday, ran patch then got this Manifest error. Ran a repair, same error. Few hours later I noticed PLAY was illuminated so ran the game and getting Client Fatal Error before the Bethesda splash screen. Running repair again but it doesn't look promising.

Don't think they're focusing on AMD at all. Nvidia is usually the one paying for it NOT to be the case. I'm on an AMD rig and I'm still getting these horrible crashes with and without addons. What's clear is this problem is affecting a lot of people over different rigs. I'm almost certain it'll be a problem on consoles as well and they'll regret ignoring this problem and ignoring tickets cause they have an addon xD

    It's the cpu difference.

OP, hardly any money grubbing studio tunes video games for AMD. AMD has less than 25% of the graphics card market and less than 15% of the cpu market. It doesn't make sense for studios moneywise.

Confirmed since 2.7 patch the game crashes now 5/10 times when alt-tabbing. It didn't use to before.
Also, it randomly locks up (mostly a soft lock, but sometimes hangs the system) forcing me to restart.

I can't imagine what they changed that would cause this, but hey MMO patches..break more than they fix.

Interesting, the 2 new main consoles now use AMD stuff, ONLY.

So if you are a money grubbing company going for the console players, what would you work to utilize best?

The hope last year was that game developers would make full use of the all the cores in the console and were hoping that this would carry over to PC versions. So far, it hasn't happened yet for most games.

Probably not until DirectX12, and that would be for XBONE games ported to Windows 10.

Maybe its just coincidence, but lately when I play during the afternoons, evenings, I can play for hours with only an occasional (expected) crash. But whenever I try to play at 1am-3am (CST), the game crashes every 5-10 minutes. Same everything on my part, only difference is the timeframe, and its happened several times this week, so I'm starting to think it may be more than a coincidence.

Does ESO do server work/updates in the wee hours of the morning? Not game updates, server OS updates, like pushing system/security patches, etc.

Perhaps my ISP does maintenance at these times? Perhaps ESO's ISP or local network provider does maintenance at these times?

Does anyone else notice specific timeframes for the worst crashing?

EDIT/UPDATE: I checked with my ISP and they do in fact perform maintenance once a week at 2am-3am, but its obvious because the entire network is taken down for 30 min to an hour.

Could it be a population issue? 1am EST would be like 10pm PST, which in my totally uninformed opinion could be peak playing time for the west coast.

Yesterday and Today I have encountered 2 crashes overall with the first one being in a city center and I thought it was just one of those crashes but today was stranger I was exiting a house after a crime spree and I got a crash with no music playing unlike in the first crash where music was still being played . I hope the game will have no crashes what so ever I have rarely had any crashes but since the latest update I'm getting the feeling that the crashes could be daily. I will report on anything new tomorrow.

Its possible. I usually quit round 3am because I cant take the relentless reboots anymore. So that would be 1am Pacific time.
The whole: *Crash > PC Reboot > Start Windows Normally > Wait > Windows Login > Wait > Start ESO > Wait > ESO Login > Wait > Play* scenario gets old, I deal with it until I lose too much hair, lol.

OK, scratch my previous comments, tonight the crashing started at 9pm. Its almost midnight and I barely have any hair left.

This crashing makes dungeons horrible. You always respawn dead, and killing a boss is nearly impossible. Every time I get the boss to low health, the game crashes!
