Elder Scrolls Only, Please? :)

I have been seeing so many threads appear wanting certain outfits and costumes that just doesn't fit into Elder Scrolls lore that I'm a little worried

I have been a massive ES fan from the beginning and now having an MMO has been amazing. I love the lore, the land and the people there. I own maps, books and other nerdy little things, so I really hope any future add-ons don't sway from what makes it great. I don't want to see silly outfits or anything that doesn't play a part in ES xD *panics*

P.S. I'm not saying people shouldn't suggest things if it's something they really want to see, I'm just expressing my concern in regards to the franchise

While I get where you're coming from, they're not as interested in the franchise as you are.

They're gonna do what makes $, lore be damned. It's the painful truth. It's been recommended in the past a request to have a toggle 'visibiliy' of other peoples' costumes, etc. That way they would wear what they wish, but it would not be as readily visible to those that would like the game to keep some semblance of and ES title.

Only time will tell, but I predict 3+ year more, Crown Store is full of all kind of crap, bikins, funky space glasses, picnic stuff etc. Thats why I think this genre should switch to sci-fi.

So you're saying you were unfamiliar with TES lore? Because the lore has had things like senche mounts in it for a long time, even if we never actually saw them in previous games...

I actually prefer Sci-fi to Fantasy (again, have shelves full of Alien, Star Wars etc) but even with that you can make mistakes. Robot dinosaurs are ok but Bikini armour isn't, haha

I guess what I'm saying is there needs to be a line somewhere before it loses complete credibility.

I lean closer to this... But I don't mind "natural" mounts. It's the mystical mounts that really get to me.

As far as I know the Senche mounts in ESO were NEVER part of any TES lore.

It's good for them to create new lore, as long as it doesn't contradict anything and actually makes sense. So even if senche mounts are 'new' they kinda fit. If that makes any sense

There are lots of different species with senche in the name, and there are various lore books from previous games that talk about senche that are used as mounts. Whether they are specifically the same species of senche as the ones in ESO is debatable in some cases, and in other cases they are clearly different (frankly, only khajiit seem to fully understand which senche is which). Nonetheless, there was plenty of lore about senche mounts prior to ESO.

They have been pretty lore friendly as far as I can tell.

Cat mounts are a real thing in TES, the kahjiit ride them.

It makes perfect sense for scarecrows to exist in the Elder Scrolls universe - in fact, as they are something clearly based on function rather than culture, it would be far more unbelievable for them not to exist... And that applies to pumpkin-headed versions of scarecrows too, since we already know that there are pumpkins in Tamriel, and it's a fairly logical thing to use as a head for a scarecrow. Now scarecrow & pumpkin-headed spectres, rather than simply normal scarecrows (pumpkin-headed or not) may be pushing it somewhat... I mean, spectres are the restless souls of the dead right? And scarecrows were never alive in the first place...

Pretty much every game in the ES series rewrites numerous parts of the lore to serve Bethesda's purposes. It's hardly anything new.

There's so many lore breaking/immersion breaking things to this game that it's best to think of it as an alternate reality in TES universe which it pretty much is anyway.

As long as they never add guns or the like then I'll be ok with bending lore and messing with immersion.

I'm sorry,I love those new costumes! Not the pumpkin head,but the Nord,Breton and Elf Hero ones.What I dont get is why the goats for pets.Why not something epic,like a big wolf.Id pay for those,but not some goat.
As to the mounts,Skellies are fine with me.
