I mean the way it is at the moment it does seem it is a long way from being ready.

I didn't get to test it this past weekend due to that damn DOS "glitch" that was prohibiting many from logging in last weekend...

    No, not even close.
In typical ZOS fashion I expect them to stick with their release date.

I got killed in pvp, nerf everything...

It has never stopped them before, all they care about is crowns bought and spent. But I will say that most changes and fixes to content in this and most games come at release and not during.

Well it has been in the works for a year now, only when they get it in the hands of players can they find what really needs to be fixed it seems.

But it is not just ZOS this is the way a lot of software works these days it seems, even single player games patch problems after launch, I think the whole system sucks, companies can release crappy products expect the customer to be happy until they get a patch out, ZOS is just following what has become an industry standard, most likely started by Microsoft, who knows.. /shrug

A part of me believes some of the changes, like the block chance and the global cyrodiil nerfs are part of a burn in test, but if that were true when would we be testing the results? It certainly seems like a burn in test but apparently that is the actual game.

Design decisions seem to be unalterable on the PTS, so baring any crippling gameplay bugs this will release on time. By the time we enter PTS it's already too late.

I think IC needs the 2 more weeks till release. Especially the vampire bugs must be fixed before.

The build will be ready for release as soon as the known crash bugs and exploitable bugs are fixed. Balance tweaks will come later. The changes that people don't like but are working as designed players are just going to have to adapt to.

I hope it's ready. But the fact is, 2.1 had a ton of problems. And 2.1.1 took two weeks to release, and it is even worse. On top of that, there has been no ZOS acknowledgement of the problems in this build. This indicates there may be a lot of internal communication issues. Particularly considering how many patch changes have been: undocumented, or promised and not ending up in the patch. Meanwhile, absolute gamebreakers such as broken AD templates and 100% mitigating Mist Form are taking too long to address.

On consoles, IC has two more weeks for polishing.
On consoles, this will be the first paid DLC, and as such, it must be spot on.

On PC, people are used to early releases and used to giving valuable feedback.
On PC, people are used to being beta testers for the console version ... ;)

Personally,I hope ZOS will hold it back for more testing, but as long as the playerbase has been waiting who wants to be the one to tell them that?

Well, 1.6 certainly wasn't ready for release, yet they released it anyway so... Yes. It will be released no matter what, unless it's literally unplayable. :p

Yes, but since that will be in a few months, I don't expect them to wait.

EDIT: Most software ships before it is ready for release. Otherwise, no need for patches.

The problem is historically balance tweaks haven't come in a timely manner, exploits persist through multiple updates more often than not.

PTS launching with massive battle spirit scaling issues like it did, and the very long wait before that was patched, leaves very little time for balance testing.

ZOS needs a functional internal testing and bug fixing program and I don't think they've ever had one.

Even the stuff they've said was going to get fixed doesn't get fixed.
