HAD PEOPLE BLOCKED BUT CAN STILL HEAR THEM NEED TEXT CHAT
i blocked someone on eso on ps4 cause they was insulting me and yet i still have to hear there mouth continue to insult me i'm so tired of hearing crap over area chat text chat needs added on console this is ridiculous that us people have to put up with this stuff while trying to play a game ADD TEXT CHAT or at least give us a reason why it can't be added already do you know ppl play this that are not in the best place in there life and hearing people on area chat just makes it worse especially for depressed people

Maybe so but seeing insults you can't block in text chat ain't as bad as hearing people in voice chat insult you2 -

Lol you must live in some fairy tale land then, because that happens all the time on this game. I got called a "f***ot" for just riding on my lioness mount.
I was just sitting on my mount and some dude just yells "Mr E is a f***ot, what kind of person spends money to ride a cat"

- Glitched (like op said), so the only way to not hear them at all is to leave the channel completely.

This. With text chat I turn off all voice chat permanently , and those who don't like to type never once have to , and I at the same time never once have to hear them. I listen to the game and communicate with those in text chat who want to use that. I was in a guild in Final Fantasy XIV , a very large one , that did not use TS nor Vent. It was on purpose , it was mainly adults with kids and families who still wanted to be a part of a guild. Very enjoyable and friendly people and I got to listen to the game as it is without hearing the stupid crap I hear on voice. We did every dungeon that was done on voice. I just like the Elder Scrolls combat better and a few of us came over hoping to have the same thing here. I'm the only one left purely because no one is going to sit around and listen to that crap and not be able to talk. No idea which console you're on, but on the xbone, it's possible to mute anyone. Just go into the interactive wheel and pick the "view gamercard" and select "mute player". Not sure if the same option is available on the PS4 though.

Nosam✭✭✭Meant to do it last week Cheese but couldn't due to family medical issues. Planning on it this weekend during prime time , like I said with friend from another guild to do the voice, I figure her asking a few normal questions in crowded areas should enough to get far worse than this video going in multiple places. Trying to get my PS4 streamed through my other PC so I can record it well instead of it being a shaky cam phone video. Should be amusing when I get them put together. Will put them here along with youtube and I have my own site can host them at to make sure and link them everywhere I can. I think it will be eye opening just how horrible it is for anyone on area voice chat .1

If you don't want to hear anyone, create a PS4 party. It will block all of the chat in game. You can always join a guild if you want to interact with others. Hopefully, you find a good guild. Nosam✭✭✭So basically I have to communicate only with a guild an no one else. I don't play mmo's for a guild game , I play them to interact on a "massive" scale. I like talking , in text , to different people , lots of different people. Have for years on the PS2 , 3 , 4 in all the console mmo's I have played. Just sad to see this was a waste of money , even more irritated that Zenimax is failing so much on this issue.0

That being said, I have never heard anyone randomly insult anyone in the game. I have heard people get into arguments and the random background noise/sound of eating is pretty annoying, but never what the OP is describing.
That also may be I generally don't like people and tend to interact with other like minded folks. The unwashed masses can have their area chat ;DTl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.0 -
