It's worse for me as a woman. I get called heinous names, screamed at, and just verbally abused via Area Chat. I keep getting excuses by guys, telling me to not use Area Chat, only use a guild chat, etc etc, and I don't approve of that. I should be able to use Area chat to make friends, sell items, and buy items (I lurve recipes)... I should not have to hide away because kids and adults can't keep their mouth shut.

Hahahahahahaha omg I lost it. I'm officially subscribing to your channel if you promise to post more adventures of console gaming - you could make it into a comedy series. PC gamers around the world would subscribe and you could earn enough money to buy a decent PC and play games properly.

Bookmarked , along with the other youtube videos that Zenimax tries to hide.

More and more are starting to be posted on youtube about how horrific the area voice chat is. Thankfully they can't keep it hidden.

A simple streaming device or iphone video recording allows everyone to hear the true cesspool that it is. Especially for women.

From a cumbersome mute to no text chat it's not very pleasant.

Can't wait to hear all those who say this never happens because they've never heard it , at the same time while more and more people are posting on youtube similar videos.

Same thing has happened to me in trading zones and crowded areas. I usually just move to another area or turn off area chat. Yeah, I shouldn't HAVE to. But there isn't much that can be done about it short of getting rid of chat altogether, which would suck.

Thats terrible, why cant you have some sort of setting to only hear voice from friends, guildies and group etc....doesnt seem to hard to implement!

The comedy adventures of what ESO console area chat is , combined with the commentary of how many *** and racial slurs are thrown about would be quite the series.

That breaks my temper in seconds and I usually just log out.

On the flip side of things, there's been one or two great parties outside the blacksmith hut in Davon's Watch (EP). The music being played across the mic was bearable, was no screeching, only a ton of characters having a dance. With a few doing press ups. I don't mind some banter and these get-togethers can be fun. More often than not, though, some little kid comes along and thinks everyone wants to hear their screaming and 100mph dance music.

Area chat is a mixed bag. Yes, you can hear some bad stuff. But you hear a lot of funny and good stuff too. People helping out newbs, people doing funny comedy bits, etc. Some guy was begging in a zone the other day, but was being very entertaining about it. He had a whole long RP sob story about King Jorunn taking his farm and his pigs. It went on forever, with more and more bizarre misfortunes, all in character. He definitely earned his gold.

Sadly, this latest example is extremely common. When I first heard that ESO was coming to consoles, I never imagined it to be like this. There is a certain "demographic" of console gamer the devs want to appeal to apparently.

I need to start shopping for a new PC. (I wonder if they would let me transfer my character from console to PC? It would only be fair.)
