Honestly I don't see why the 25k gold is required at all. Just getting all the fragments from writs is enough.
And the fact that you get a random chapter adds insult to injury. Either charge 25k and let us choose which chapter or don't charge and randomly give one.
I like the fact that the style material comes from chests. I think that's pretty cool.

I have a few dozen boxes stocked for when EU characters get transfered, but that might be some time.
This is what bothers me. Given the number of fragments you require it will take long enough if you get one fragment per writ.
I hate the idea of RNG in writ rewards, mainly because I still haven't received an ambrosia recipe fragment despite doing top level writs from the start. That kind of result just isn't acceptable if you have to collect hundreds of the things.
The whole idea behind the motifs being hard to get is because they want to boost sales, you are not meant to get (in this example), seven fragments of the Psijic Ambrosia recipe on your own, you are meant to buy/trade to get them. If everything in ESO was easy to get and took little effort that would severely diminish gameplay value of acquiring such items. In the case of Ambrosia fragments, I have personally found two using only one character per day to do the writ, but I have also received two other fragments from friends who had finished their own collection of seven. It's basic RNG, my friend.

Exactly, but the F2P / B2P players never realize this until its too late

I know that it's basic RNG, that's precisely what I don't want! RNG is not a measure of "effort" - I've done the top level writs, I've put in the effort, I just haven't received any fragments! If you want to reward effort, if you want to make it hard, then come up with more imaginative writs but guarantee rewards. But don't make someone a "better" crafter just because of RNG.
150 glass fragments, with the drop rate mentioned above that's 750 writs. Yes, you will be able to swap/trade, but someone has to find them and glass fragments will be rare - over three months of writs assuming 8 top level crafters! Clearly this is just a ploy to get people to buy the DLC - and to keep us busy for the next six months until the next DLC.
Me too. Watch them change the rules a day before the patch and make only writs completed after the patch drop motifs. :PAnd i allready stack, since 2 Weaks, all Writs rewards in my inventory................

They did? Do you have a source? I haven't checked on PTS if the containers are different. No big deal if it's true, I'll stil get a bunch of surveys at least. But when they implemented Psijic Ambrosia, the recipe dropped from old containers.SorataArisugawa wrote: »

I'm 100℅ for the grind the way it is. Hell, make em even harder.
I love having a type of armor or visual on my character that I had to WORK towards.
The style of armor gives absolutely 0 benfit over any others. It is literally just a cosmetic trophy that ShOULD take alot to get.
Otherwise it's just another dwemer or racial style that anyone can access anytime easily.

Because it is just a cosmetic change is the exact reason I wish they WOULDN'T make it so hard to get. Since it's not a 'better' style, just different, why make it so damned hard to obtain? I have been wanting Glass armor in this game since the beginning, since it's one of my favorite styles. Now I find out that even if I grind writs for months I still might not be able to craft a whole set of armor of this style. Yeah, that's not exactly going to make me happy.
But that is EXACTLY the point behind making it so hard. A decent amount of people want the style, but hate the grind, so will just have to buy the motif style on the crown store. The ONLY reason to make it this damned hard to get is to increase sales. And that's why I hate this B2P model crap. Instead of giving us a decent story-line way to get the motif, we get a grind or we pay.

Yes, they confirmed Glass Motif will be sold in Crown Store during the last ESO Live.
the shards are tradeable and only the pieces of paper before you put them together. Once you use the resin on them, they are no longer tradeable.

He may be confusing the chapters with the crafting material (malachite)... Malachite shards work that way
I am perfectly fine with the rarity of the motif if the only way to get it is by playing the game. I really hope they won't put it on crown store.
Oh come on, who am I kidding? It's obvious they will
