Awesome idea expecially for explore the Memorial district where the respawn points are bad placed (you have all the alliances in one road and is pretty much a never ending fight on ) We need to test even the boss fights without the need of someone guarding the entrance (Arboretum district)

This new content is PVP mixed with PVE. I think the main problem being addressed is that both aspects need to be tested. The PVP needs to be tested. The PVE needs to be tested. Both need to be tested at the same time.

The issue is that, due to the behaviour of certain people (that rhymes with blankers), little of the PVE aspect of the common areas is being tested.

Are PVE dungeons being tested? Yes. But it's hard to test PVE in the common areas due to deaths.

"BUT IT'S A PVP AREA, DEAL WITH IT!!!1111"

Yes, but just because it's a PVP area doesn't mean things don't need to be TESTED. If you can't get/do that content because you're being ganked, it can't be tested. If it's not tested, possible bugs/glitches/exploits won't be discovered, and will therefore go live.

And then people will complain "GG ZOS, TEH GAME IS BROKEN!!!111"...well maybe it wouldn't be broken if the gankers would let us THOROUGHLY TEST ALL THE DANG CONTENT BEFORE IT GOES LIVE.

I mean, so you found new gank spots. Congrats! I'll shake your hand. Now quit it so that enough people can get enough TV stones to get the new gear, in order to TEST IT. I don't understand why the gankers are continuing to us cheap tactics; it's not like the TV stones you get on the PTS transfer over to your live account. Once you've found a good ganking spot/technique, great! Save it for live. There are other things to test than just ganking efficiency.

    EXACTLY!

One positive thing has come from this though - we know that there is an issue over spawn/door ganking, and we have come up with ways to prevent that going through to Live.

For testing the content itself, I suggest waiting until the next Imperial City access option is tested, when it'll be possible to lock the other alliances out for a while.

I got my first real crack at it w/ hubby this morn. Granted we were our non-vet pvp toons for this, but he is not impressed with the inability to get even around the corner from the door. After several attempts and crashes (both of us), he was over it for today :(

I can see the OP's point as far as testing purposes.

If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Yeah. If I want to do constant fighting, I will go PVP in Cyro on the live server and skip the PTS. I get that this is a PVP/PVE update but testing shouldn't be limited to just PVP survival that can also be accomplished in normal Cyrodil.

In two days of playing on the PTS I've seen a part of a city district and killed three bosses. This in about 6 hours of time. So for the other 4 hours it has been nothing but trying to defend myself from the other two factions attacking me while mobs spawn on top of you.

I get that this is a PVP City but the ganking is limiting the actual TESTING that can be done. The gankers don't care about testing the actual update, only that they have new ganking spots.

@ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom, @ZOS_BrianWheeler if you want accurate test results for IC, you really need to turn off PVP in it until launch. Otherwise, 75% of the issues people didn't see due to constant fights will go to the live server.

Why not do 1 week of PVP testing and then 1 week with PVP turned off. This will allow adequate testing for all changes being made to the game.

If there was 1 week of strictly PVE testing, this could give other people an opportunity to try out Imperial City that normally wouldn't since it's in a PVP zone. This could help increase sales, once people get in here and see what it looks like and how good it looks, they may decide to get it regardless of the PVP ability. They sure as [SNIP] won't though when it's a massive gank fest every minute and can't even explore the city.

we have to test every possible broken skill every broken ability how the new balance is where to kill people. Zenimax already planed ot make some changes from our tests. Ganking cc'ing and so on has to be the majority of tests this update will rise and fall with good and balanced pvp

Funny thing about that.. my testing skill changes involves fighting Mobs in zones I have already know, like Craglorn or outside IC Cyrodiil, so I can compare before and after, not fighting in a new zone, much less in combat with other players in small spaces where they cant spread out.

However, after reading more in the thread.. Yes.. there are PVE elements that, if the quests are broken, will not be discovered or reported because of PVP combat. Ever try writing a bug report while dead or in combat? It dont work.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom Can you direct some eyes to this thread? Thanks.

Actually nothing will change in that regards. When a Faction is "locked out" of Imperial City everyone within it will still remain. So all of these gankers specifically set out to hinder people testing will still be there with all their friends. They will continually be able to respawn within the city and keep doing it over and over again. UNLESS, when that faction losses access their respawn ability is also lost which I don't think I've seen anything on that. Most posts that mention "leaving" Imperial City only talk about actual tunnels/sewers that can be left through.

IF a faction loses their respawn ability when they lose access, that will be the ONLY time it will be easier to test. I hope this is the case with it. If it's not, it won't affect the people already in there when it's lost.

What I don't get is why there are teams of players farming stones on pts. I am all fine with pvp but on pts the farming doesn't make sense. The other day I had two teams that spent almost 10 minutes trying to keep me from entering one of the crafting work shops. When I got in most of the crafting stations didn't even work. So I sat there going wth were they protecting? It's like they don't know pts gets wiped and any gains there mean nothing.

Umm.. not exactly? Because you only prevent new arrivals. If people camp out at thier alliance home base, they spawn back in IC. (I also saw some stones to allow you to port in? But I think they only worked inside IC?) Also, there is only Haderus on PTS, so there cant be a DC campaign AND a Pact campaign AND a AD campaign. Dont expect any lockouts to remain in place long.

What I was trying to do for this, was to get as much DLC testing done as possible with no interference from other players. This will probably work just fine once it gets to the live server. I'm just worried about a lot of bugs getting there that we couldn't find in testing due to constant pvp fighting and not enough testing.

Initial entrance is what is what we're discussing there and will be tested on PTS. Once you're inside IC or the Sewers, you can log out and log back in there to your hearts content, even if you lose Access in rule-sets where it's gated by Keep ownership.

everything is data, especially including how players behave in the new environment.

If the PTS is any indication, players will behave by abandoning all keeps completely and taking 100% of the fight underground lol.

Seriously though, how can we possibly determine how we like the reductions to damage, healing, and shields if no "traditional ESO pvp" takes place to test?

IMO, they should have made those changes in a different patch, before or after.

Zos needs to organize at least 1 above ground traditional PvP test imo or they are asking for trouble when this goes live.
