It's the difference between creating an immersive world and creating a shallow world with the game being driven by menus. It's a design creativity choice, nothing more.

Option 1: Visit an in-game barber with which you may interact to change your style.
Option 2: open a menu anywhere to access character creation.

To me, option 2 sounds boring and dull. If I wanted my Role Playing to be menu based, I'd play a MUD.

^This. IMO a way to customize your character post original creation should be a standard feature in MMORPGs and RPGs alike. While I'm not completely against paying money it should be limited compared to what you can change for free.

Yea. The numbers were just a suggestion based on the the prices for pets and such.

I think it would work like this: A barber in Hammerfell and a barber in High Rock offer a Nord a haircut, both barbers can give the Nord haircuts that were available to him in character creation, but the Hammerfell barber could offer a few hairstyles from the Redguard selection in addition to the base haircuts, while the High Rock barber could not, but would offer some Breton styles instead.

This may be a bit high, even a tad off topic, but how about facial reconstruction?

Like in the dawnguard dlc in skyrim has a "face sculptor" that has a brief character facial redesign for a hefty fee.

Perhaps 5k gold for facial and body work.

I would love it if there were "Face Sculptors" in ESO. I don't think it should be as prolific as the Barber shop. Like... there should be at least 1 barber shop per zone but maybe only 1 face sculptor per faction.

excellent! Lol. I love the thought that the barber would say thing like "Not nearly as nice as Redguard hair..." which would tell the player what kind of special hairstyles they would have.

I spent nearly an hour perfecting my beautiful Kahjiit. I have zero interest in changing anything about her. If the barber shop does offer new hair styles, I may visit, but otherwise, I'll wave as I pass by on my Senche-Lioness.

Yep, also I want to be able to have a scars category seperate from facial hair for males or makeup for females.
And the ability to change the color of makeup, warpaint and tattoos. Also, earrings/tiaras seperate from makeup too

More hairstyles, especially long hairstyles or hairstyles that don't look like just a texture painted on the character's skull... you know, something with some volume!

I think people would like a way to change their character's body. I would think that this would be more expensive than a hairstyle but for someone who wants to change the body, this feature would be much better than having to change races from an Altmer to an Altmer when that option is available.

More jewelry options, especially earrings - and while some of the "forehead" sets are nice, I'd love to see all of those earrings as options by themselves (right now, only some are). Something else that should be easy is to make those jewelry options change color, much like the dye system. So someone should be able to choose different metal colors, and different gem colors, easily. That would instantly help folks make characters look more unique.

I want my orc to be able to have horns as well as a beard, currently thats impossible since they're part of the same category. Barber needs to have more options and seperate stuff like that. Facial decoration should be seperate from facial hair.

I want more hairstyles and tattoos, colored tattoos and tattoos that have a glow effect...I also want all hair colors unlocked for every race.....eye colors would be nice too...but I'm not sure how much I care about that...you should not be able to change raCE THOUGH...that is just silly.
