Why we love ESO

So, we see alot of complaints on these forums nowadays, and im a little tired of only reading complaints. Therefore i decided to ask you guys what you love about this game. Put away all the bugs etc. and just tell us what makes you stay.

I personaly love the scenery. It's freakin beautiful to look at, and im always wandering around looking at stuff ingame. I love the characters and how the voiceacting is done. It's really well made in my opinion.

So, tell me, what do you like about this game.
It sucks when your at 2nd place in PvP, and your alliance gets all 6 keeps.

I agree on that, even though the PC version is very good too, i like the console better, almost as nice graphics as PC, but much cheaper :)

The storytelling. Everyone (i.e. every NPC) has a reason for being where they are in the world, and it's never unrewarding to listen to them. There's a lot of subtle humor, and some stories are heart-wrenching tales.

Plus, because of all the rest that's already been mentioned.

    So far for me its:

    * Graphics are beautiful, you wouldn't think you were looking at an mmo
    * development - so much choice and depth to how you can spend your points and what you can branch out ti
    * Crafting, usually the bane of my life is very enjoyable, being able to spend points to increase your abilities gives something to work toward which is fun
    * Combat, no click and point nonsense with hundreds of cool downs, fighting is actually fun and engaging
    * Exploration, the map is huge, there's absolutely loads to get lost in and search out when concentrating on a quest is too much effort
    * The detail in the NPCs and what they say. Someone else mentioned about all the little things they say and it's right, you don't feel part of a world where everyone is a copy and paste Jon and coder you walk back and forth.
    * Story so far is enjoyable, the side quests are excellent. I'm not a big story gamer, I tend to skip cut scenes and play purely for the actual game play but I've found myself reading and listening to people and very much enjoying a lot of the side quests I have done. No killing 10 boar, handing in, going and killing 15 rats and collecting 5 lizard legs, returning, killing 20 pigeons and ferrying their feathers to an npc

    Love it so far

    The world and the visuals.

A few of the truly brilliantly written quests - those that truly make you step back and make a choice.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    He's my favourite character.

I love the glorious world, each area has it's own beauty. It took me a while to get used to Stonefalls, having almost exclusively played on the AD side in the beginning, but I've grown to appreciate it. I also love the dark and gloomy moors of Glenumbra, coupled with the pretty forests.

Some of the quests are fantastic. There is one questline in Reapers March that never fails to have me shedding a tear whenever I do it ( yes, stupidly girly, lame and uncool, I know, but its so sad )
I also love how NPC's sometimes remember your choices, and pass comment on it. Though if one more guard in Skywatch remarks on the outcome of the rightful queen and how awful my character is, I'm going to go on a killing spree.

Those are the kinds of things I love about this game, though there is so much more.

I agree with everyone but I would like to add the helpfulness of everyone I've met on the forums and in game. I have not had a bad experience yet. I'll be honest I do go into a private chat so I can't hear anyone as well so if you ever see me captain scarblade (character name) and want to shoot the stuff you might want to message me. Either way thanks everyone and always be kind to one another because it's just a game.

    i love the active combat

it's the left click to attack/right click to block i love - i tried guildwars and the combat just felt stale after ESO's - wow has many more action bar buttons, butyou just get set into a rotation.

in ESO, the combat is gripping, for me at least and as such, i love it.

i also love the skill trees and crafting professions.

if it weren't for the lack of direction at endgame, i would've stayed subbed.

I love a lot of things in this game. The fact that it's so very different from other mmo:s out there makes it a blast to play.

The leveling from 1-50 is really fun if you follow the lore etc, while in most game the leveling experience is just a pain to me.

The graphics are beautiful, the character costumization is amazing and far more vast than any other game I've played. Apperance and the different skill line trees and builds.

The combat system is a lot of fun and adds a nice feeling to the fights.

And much more which i probobly forgot to mention.

I love the art, this game really captures the look of the Elder Scrolls games.

I play the Elder Scrolls games because I am able to just run around and do what I want. I can explore, quest, level crafting, and just search for all the different things scattered around the world. ESO provides this in bulk like no other Elder Scrolls game before it.

I'm not into limited 1x1 PVP or PVP arenas, so a lot of other MMO games are just boring as far as PVP goes. Go in, battle, win (or lose), wait for next group, repeat. I really like the open and unorganized (by the game) warfare that ESO has in Cyrodiil. The zone is huge and populated with hundreds of others and I am not forced to wade through them in PVP hand to hand combat. I can stand on a wall and siege them, I can stand next to the flag and defend it. I can siege a keep, run through the breach (and die valiantly), or just help protect those that do. Even Cyrodiil has the same Elder Scrolls open world feel with no rules that demand that I do what the game wants. There is always something to do in Cyrodiil.

The fishing. (seriously) I always found it relaxing and THE best way to socialize, as you don't need to focus on the task at hand like you do with dungeons and whatnot.

I also love the stories, and getting myself right into them (and the journey).

Oh oh, and I love that it isn't cartoony. Oh how I love that.

    No you!!!

Seriously though. I love the game because it has a ridiculously huge amount of content. Since I'm a completionist (not really a word I don't think but you get it) I still have things I haven't done but plan to.

I love the feel of the world. It feels more like a world to me than other MMORPGs I've played recently.

I fell in love with TES after playing Morrowind. I had played Arena and Daggerfall and a couple other small TES games (not that Arena or Daggerfall were small) but Morrowind really sucked me in. This (imo) is the best TES game since Morrowind. Couldn't stand Skyrim. Played Oblivion all the way through just because I felt obligated to and it was a TES game.

    I love Lamp.

I love the dailies now. That was a great addition for me.

    And now I love fishing.

But a big thing that keeps me here are a few folks that I know work their hiney's off and do care about the game we play.

    Like Gina.

    Oh, and here's a puppy!!

A lot of what's already been said.
I really dig the re-playability & vast world to explore. Stumbling upon a dog on his masters grave, little things that make sense in the world.
One thing I really dig is running into NPCs later in the game & chatting with them. Very cool how when you finish a quest you often get a "What will you do now?" "I may go to Shornhelm" or whatever, then you run into them later and have a nice talk.
It's like finding old friends on facebook....in-game.

My favourite things are the lore, graphics, class system and combat. Plus it's probably the most fun I've had levelling in an mmo. If some of the bad can be ironed out I can see this becoming my main mmo.

ESO is the only TES game since Arena to dare include all of Tamriel. I have been a big fan of Oblivion, my first TES game, and love the lore and my place in it. It is the ability to not only read about places and events, but be there in them that makes TES and ESO so lovely. The majority of ESO are regions I have never visited, and some I have never even read about. ESO brought this opportunity of discovery to me. And brought it to my friends as well. :)

We've had a number of these threads in the past few weeks, and when major (legitimate, long-standing, frequently raised) issues are completely ignored for many months, but puff threads like this pop up and get the official 'Z' next to them and it's the white whale that has an actual response and not some forum moderation, can you blame folks for having nothing but venom for ZOS?

Gina is by far my favorite of the bunch, and while I don't envy her job, the people to blame are those that are making the decision of not letting her share info/address concerns. Forums will always be skewed negative - it's their nature. These forums have devolved into their current state because they reflect player retention, trust, and outlook towards ZOS. It's one thing to wait a week or 2 between console release for them to want to give info out at a major conference that's about to happen, but it's an entirely different beast when it's been 14+ months on some things and we have whispers and unfulfilled promises to go on.

So, why do I love ESO? I love ESO because it's overall a great game, but I find that to be true in spite of ZOS' management in the past 14 months. Every update that's happened since launch where I've been pleased with what it contains reflect fixes to problems that never should have been neglected in the first place (i.e. viability of stamina builds, WW, versatility for builds and gear choices, etc.). So, Gina, thanks for being so patient and having such a thick skin - I'm sure many posters have a 'kill the messenger' mentality. But, perhaps it's time the rest of ZOS thanks PC players for being so patient while they're ignored, de-prioritized, and left without any additions to the game whatsoever for half a year. Maybe it's time to start actually talking to players and addressing real concerns hmm? Maybe it's time to appreciate the folks that subscribed and paid for the game so it could be tested for your console release. It's not even an inside joke any more when you guys cherry pick the questions for your Q&A sessions that are largely irrelevant because you don't answer the important questions that people make dozens and dozens of threads about only to be ignored.
