For me, it is mainly the graphics and that its about Elder Scrolls.
It is light years away from TES single player experience but its OK.

THIS GAME SERIOUSLY NEED A HIGHER RES TEXTURE PACK.
It would bring new players. nowadays graphics are very important and people wants beter graphics every day.
So,many people would come to play the game if they upgrade textures for sure.

Of course the graphics can always be better :) but remember that ESO is one of the MMO's out there with the best graphics, so i dont think that the graphics has much to do with the playerbase.

Yes..I would say it is the best mmo regarding graphics...but you know...if zos announces an HD pack, many people would buy the game or return just to see the improved graphics. People usually is very graphic wh...I am too! And I dont think it is a difficult thing to add.
Just an HD pack and you enable it or not. Would just cause lag for the player so its not a problem for the servers...just client side. But I guess zos will never release this.

Ofc an HD pack would be awesome! and i agree that graphics are very important when it comes to gaming :) ZOS will probably not release one, but we can always hope

Why we love ESO... English is so strange, using the word describing the highest, strongest, most important emotion in the context of actually liking or fancying something.

As a non native english speaker Id say I could only love a being with personality - God, another human, animal, etc but never a thing.

    Why I like ESO?

    -graphics
    -music
    -combat
    -crafting

I could use some deeper argumentation but I think everything I would probably say has been already said in this thread. So have a nice day and remember - love is the greatest gift of your life, even as a word, use it carefully.
    When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

I love the play-as-you-want style. It's great arriving at a dolmen seeing a handful of people already working hard. If that's the case I love to switch to a healing staff and simply support and heal as much as possible. It makes you find your place and contribute in pretty much every situation in the game without any restrictions.

Apart from that, I love pretty much everything that has been mentioned so far!

I would love to see a higher resolution texture pack for ESO. This is one of those things I tend to install when they are available on my single player games. I am running the game right now at max settings, so there is definitely room for more eye candy.

However, the current graphics in ESO are not bad at all. I don't want people to think that. The high res texture pack would be, in my opinion, be taking the game a notch up to to "better."

The books! I love the little stories in the books in the game :) I like that I can read them back in my achievement list. Sometimes when I have 10-15minutes in the morning before I go to work I read some of the books while drinking my morning coffee. The one I like best so far is the 3 fables of crows.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that a player will rarely post when they are contently playing the game. If we absolutely had to create threads about our positive experiences as much as we did the negative ones, I'd wonder what the forums would look like lol.

For Example: "You just saw a Dark Anchor fall for the first time while exploring and immediately ALT+Tab out to go geek out on the forums." - Yeah right!

I'm more likely to just think to myself "That looked really good, that was fun." and then run off into some other madness.

Well speaking of awesome moments with Dark Anchors. I was on my Lizard alt. Roaming the rift. The sun was low in the west. And suddenly I see the shadow of dropping anchor chain shadow. It was a good deal away. But it looked very real. And I was startled for a moment.

Or generally the atmospheres of various daytimes really make me marvel at how many little details ZOS put in to make the world believeable. Also what you done with the various Water areas is stunning. The Lake in Belkarth looks like the lakes here.

Love the story and the questing. Its been awhile since ive had a really good questing experience.

The effects for an MMO is astounding. The environment is alive, the constant change in the weather to reflect the area is astonishingly refreshing. I've had moments in game when I just stop and look at the area, how I can see birds fluttering in the distance as another player comes close, how the sun's rays play out on the ground within the forested confines of Malabal Tor. Or even how the ash falls like snow over davon's watch and how it actually does affect your visibility in the distance.. Superb.

The npcs are also very.. Real. I can't explain it in words. There is a huge amount of npc content if you can just stop and walk around and...talk. There are occasions that the dialogue gets over used and cumbersome ( did your sister also see a butterfly..Oh god.) but at times.. The timing of the dialogue is perfect.

    Spoilers

One of my perfect moments on game was when I finished killing estre in auridon. All these while during the fight, it was lightning and thunder and overcast skies. The quest then leads you to meet Queen Ayrenn, at the steps of Firsthold Keep. And then naemon comes. It rains. Pouring even. "little brother? Why are you here?"

"little brother? You have never called me that unless you were guilty and didnt want our Father to know something. So is High kinlady Estre dead? Have you killed my wife"

    "little brother, I.."

"no no, no need to explain. It was all for the good of the Dominion." and he walked away, in the rain. Queen ayreen swoons and sighs.

At greenshade, after the death of her brother, I went to her 'cottage' located near the fishing pond. I see the Queen and she was sobbing, facing the fire, her whole body wrecking with tears.

That sold me to the Dominion. The Queen has my heart and soul and all that I can to further the dominion's goals. And I tell you, no other game has yet given me reason to even shed a tear for a pixelated character.

As I walk outside, it rained for a while... Then suddenly the sun came up from the clouds as I walk out from greenshade. A new beginning. Amazing. Simply amazing moments.

Best thread ever. I enjoy this game for a number of reasons, mainly the ones stated already, but the one thing that sticks out the most to me is the champion system. I've been a MMORPG player since DAoC in 2000(ish), and I don't remember the last time I played a AAA MMORPG with an "infinite" progression system like that. I'm someone who enjoys sticking around long term for a game, and to be able to still become stronger and progress further even after you've completed all the content is a major plus to me. Players should be rewarded like this for longevity, and it only makes sense for them to have an edge in PvP.

The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Don't confuse your modded Skyrim with vanilla Skyrim. Vanilla Skyrim grafics and lighting I would rate somewhat awful nowadays, my modded Skyrim (2k to 8k resolutions + ENB + WQHD 1440p) I would rate still as the zenith of grafical quality which is possible nowadays and which is still beating every game out there, maybe be beaten by a nose length by Witcher 3 only.

    Some pics: https://www.flickr.com/photos/113740199@N08/?rb=1

...and yes this is playable for me with 40 to 60 fps on 1440p (...but don't ask for my PC setup and how much money I had to spend).

...but I like the idea of a higher resolution pack for ESO...oh and if we are on that topic, don't forget meshes. I would like to have something like CBBE + HDT PE + Bodyslide. My female imperial nightblade and my female breton templer need some sort of serious improvements :-)

I was not comparing to Skyrim. I was comparing to whatever game released in 2014.
Of course it cant be the same like in a sp game...but clearly, the textures could be better. A decent modern rig can handle this perfectly.
If somebody cant...it is as easy as do not use the hd pack. This game could look magnificient with hd textures plus better distant lod and more distant view.

With this game you can play 1st person view so the textures should be better because you cant hide a bad textures the same way you can do it with a 3rd person game.

There are so many things I love about the Elder Scroll series as a whole , it would be tough to nail them all down. I'm still trying to make up my mind on ESO as yet. So far there's little I dont like but the things I don't are kinda big ones for me even if they are few in number.

I like that crafting can be very essential to your progression as a character. Beung a little tougher to accumulate gold with a beginning character the stuff you make can very often rival the quest rewards/drops in those formative levels. Could get rid of the spending skill point requirements and just leave it to levelling through crafting only. Would be a major help in more important areas that are necessary.

Not being tied to any real traditional traits such as being a caster class being limited to mainly cloth is nice. Most of my gear is a mixture , I just chose stat over type. I have a heavy chest piece that so far has rivaled any light or medium armor for my level that i've come across. I'm talking stat not just armor protection.

Questing so far is pretty engaging and moves along nicely. I also like that the rewards are most times useful and not useless by the time I get them. This is often one of my pet peeves in games , especially mmo's. When I turn in a quest and get a reward its not something I could have used 4-5 levels ago. A lot of times it's level appropriate or just above. Great job there!

Fishing needs tweaked. I grind a lot for mats and fish tons but most if the time when I fish , its typically junk. As many hours as I fish , it feels like my catches should improve.

Not being forced to group is nice. Don't get me wrong , i'd like to but circumstances limit me on doing this. At least effectively as others would deserve. Not a fan of the guild trader scenario. We need a more tradional AH setting. Yes i'm pointing to WoW. If it works , it works.

Did you check the fishing guide for ESO? I've had the same problem in the beginning until i figured out that different waters require different bait.
    Good luck with your fishing!

Sheogorath, please ESO, give us a Shimmering Isles DLC. Mucho likey

The combat is amazing, I love no global cooldowns and it feels like combat, blocking, dodge rolling. Fantastic

The world is alive, I picked up Final Fantasy, now I am a huge fan of their games, but the world is just so quiet. No NPC chatter, no enemy chatter. Just feels way to quiet.

Visually it is beautiful, yea way shrines are fantastic, but I do not mind at all, riding around and finding nods and chests and enjoying the world.

Crafting, might be the best out there, my opinion of course. So many motifs, and options. Its nice to not see everyone with the game gear on... Monster heads yea, but even with costumes there is no much variety.

Questing is a blast, I did a play through with a second toon and just did the story quest... was a great time, but man o man, so much to explore and find out.

They have done a great job with the pve in game it is a beautiful game, and to me a worthy extension of the Elder Scrolls franchise.

The only thing I wish is they could get rid of the cheating in the game which is hurting the competitive part of th game.
