Someone is going to be typing L2P into zone 30 seconds after the game launches.

Don't need to worry about that - no text chat!

More seriously though - I think that it depends on what you get out of these games. I've spent roughly 100 hours playing the non-vet and am almost at level 50. That's at a pace where I am playing the game to enjoy everything in the ebonheart pact.

This was mostly solo. Which makes the cost of the game worth it already based on single player game prices. (Not to mention I subbed for eight months). For this aspect of the game, there is NO DISADVANTAGE to being a new player at any time.

For PVP and Trading... Well... trade is not affected by champion points - so when you reach max vet rank, it should be just the same as anyone else at max level.

For PVP... just think of those better than you as tough bosses?

If your so upset then why not leave, stop crying and offer them ideas or solutions as whinning gets you no where fast.

I was not happy with alot of things ZOS has done so i created The Improving On ESO series instead of just whinning i put forth ideas and concepts for them to consider.
Also im xfering but i have very few champion points and i plan to start from scratch and enjoy the game.

You also forget that unlike other mmos this one requires the right skills to play your build to win. Cps helps but are far from a winning factor everytime.

So stop complaining and enjoy the game or kindly leave. :)

This is the start of many of these threads.
Having higher ranked players in the game will be no different than if you bought the console version a month from now.
There will always be someone higher ranked than you, doesn't mean they are a better player.

    This so much.

What the OP fails to understand is that why is this any different than someone buying the PC version today, but others that have been playing for over a year have a huge lead? It is no different. Like the person I am quoting points out, what is the difference? A month from now there will be console gamers in the VR or close to it, but then new players will be coming in all the time.

I just don't see it being that much of an issue. There will always be players ranked a lot higher than someone coming in fresh and new.

Hello as a new person coming to ESO for PS4 will there be servers for only fresh starters and not people getting transfered in with there veteran rank 10 characters from pc?

Or will we new players have to be bullied by these transfer characters and them screw up the market.

    thanks

Hello new console players, welcome to being a year behind PC transfers...have fun in PvP, just keep it you will get Vigor and caltrops too in 8 months...el oh el.....

This issue seems to be important enough to hide it. i made this thread a while back and they (ZoS) decided to sink it (didnt matter how many people wrote in it - it didnt get bumped and just kept sinking to page 4-5 and beyond)

Im really sorry for the "fresh" players joining console-ESO thinking it will be a new game.

Economy is already screwed before it even launches. That's insane.

Allowing copied gold was the worst part of all. Gold farmers just transferring millions to an entire new market to be available at launch? What a joke. Mmos launches are the best part, the being firsts, for crafting, pve and pvp -- all that already gone.

If I had known they had allowed transfers, and I was a pc player for almost a year from launch, I would never have bothered preordering for ps4, and sony won't allow refunds. So I basically payed another $71 to start the same game I stopped playing for PC since the fresh start was the only thing I was looking forward to.

I think some of the pain could be averted if they opened a non-vet, non champ battleground for the new people to get their feet wet. At the very least a champ point level equal to a new player (can you earn vet points right off as a new player). Pve will be less of an issue but new players getting owned constantly as they try PvP for the first time is not good for the game

As someone with two VR14 characters, and multiple other VR characters, I agree with having Champion and non-Champion PvP campaigns. I also want a fair playing field. Mashing players with less powerful characters is not a fun time for anyone (except those, hopefully few, who enjoy griefing). My experience with the ESO community on PC makes me think that the majority of people who have transferred would also like a fair PvP experience.

Splitting PvP into those with Champion Points and those without seems like a step in the right direction.

Things will probably smooth out if they make PVP that's more like the flashback battles instead of a really big game of Capture the Flag. Arrows raining down around you, enemy NPCs running around and supporting enemy players, giant world monsters spawned by Daedric Princes.

Main objective is to survive. You get X points if you survive Y minutes in designated battle areas.

All the CP in the world won't help you if you're stepped on by a 40 ton Flesh Atronach, so even new players can use the environment to their advantage.

Only thing I agree with is the gold BS they allowed. Remember back in one thread a dude said he is having his guild mates give him all the gold in guild so when he transferred he had it all. Then after the 1st he gave them the gold back. Talk about exploit, wonder how many did this.

Eh, you cut out the most important part of the post. In my mind, the game just isn't fresh if the moment it launches there is already thousands of players that are maxed out. There is going to be people whining about other people not doing it right from jump. For me, the best time in an MMO is about the first month after it launches where everyone is still new to the game. Everyone is still figuring out strategies to get stuff done. ESO console will not have that period.

If a player starts anew & plays in one of the faction areas until they have to move on because they are maxed out at that level, when they moves in to the next area (area 2) does that make them a bully or someone who is automatically to be feared just because they are a higher level than someone that just started in that area (area 2)?

I played on PC right from the start but I was waiting till console release. I was saddened to learn that the console release was postponed but I didn't renew my sub (that's another story, another thread).

So I am out of the loop, but is it not the case that ZOS designed this game so that VRs and players level 1-49 shall never meet unless they choose to do so in PvP in which case the lower level players are levelled up to level 50?

I am looking forward to playing on console & I am not at all put out by pre-conceived notions based on nothing other than suppositions of a game that is not playable till June 9 (on console) that I am some newbie that is to be ganked often or to be pitied because he just doesn't know what lies ahead for him.

I'll play ESOTU on console by choice & I am not troubled by negative posts predicting doom & gloom for newbies.

ESOTU is a game and intended for fun for us and business for ZOS. Let's not lose sight of that ever and stay cool. ;)

I play on the PC and will not be playing on console. That said, I think ZOS have made a number of mistakes with the console launch that might hurt the game.

Firstly, the decision to allow character transfer is dubious. A new server shouldn't (IMHO) be populated by pre-existing characters. It's an opportunity to start from scratch, and from a new player's perspective, it's basic justice that they won't have 0-day opponents that have over a year's head start. I understand why ZOS are doing it - people have invested time on the PC version when what they really wanted was to play on console, which ZOS promised time and time again for shortly after launch on the PC (ZOS made it a lot worse by delaying console launch over a year after initial launch). These players might abandon the game altogether if their investment had been for nothing, and ZOS are trying to avoid that, but it doesn't make it a good decision.

There are numerous ways in which character transfer will create huge imbalance. It's not just character level - for all people have been fighting over level grinding, you can max out a character in a few weeks at most. It's mostly champion points (even the most furious grinder on console will have their plate full trying to catch up to the 70 CP from conversion plus all the CP earned since); the crafting researches (again, it will take months for new players to catch up to something transferred characters will have from day 1), which are particularly impacting in PvP where Nirnhoned is all but mandatory; the riding training (up to 6 months to catch up to players with maxed out riding skills), again with particular impact in PvP; etc.

Secondly, the way the transfer was done is VERY dubious. Many people announced their intention to borrow gold (and possibly other items) by the cut-off date for the transfer, in what I consider to be a massive duplication exploit. Why call it duplication? Because while on the PC servers for each borrower there are lenders they must answer to, and the borrowing deprives the lender of the use of the gold/items borrowed, on console said borrowers won't owe anybody. It's just gold and items created out of thin air, not having been obtained by valid ways - looting/farming or purchasing/trading. To my knowledge, ZOS never condemned this, and by implication I assume they see nothing wrong with it and will allow it.

I'd wager the first few weeks of consoles will see transfer players milk as much as possible from new players by having a monopoly of crafting skills and materials (especially gold improvement materials and glyphs, as well as Nirncrux), rare motifs, rare equipment in high demand, etc.

I'm very skeptical that the game will come away unscathed by this. But who knows, maybe I'll be proved wrong.

As other people have said it's similar to starting on PC after launch, except there will probably be less high-level characters on PC.

I only started playing in February this year, just under 4 months ago, and I haven't found it to be a big issue. Admittedly I haven't spent a lot of time in Cyrodiil (enough to do a few dungeons, a bit of PvP and get some skyshards) and I'm not expecting to claim worlds 1st for anything, but it really hasn't bothered me at all.

And sometimes it's helpful to have more experienced players around to help and answer my questions.

I won't play on console but the stupidest thing I saw was that people were taking gold from their guild banks and copying it to console accounts and then are able to pay it back on their PC account. So there are people that will have an insane amount of gold to begin with on console servers. This is a HUGE oversight by ZOS. The other advantages transfer accounts have can sort of be justified but they really should have put some kind of cap on gold transfers.

Honestly I cant say whether this will be as big of an issue as some might be worried or not yet. Ill have to weigh in on this once I get into PvP and see how much these Transfers are effecting it. I suspect it wont be that bad though if the playerbase numbers are high enough.

The obvious advantage for PC transfers will be on the trade side where it takes fixed amounts of time to level up crafting and large sums of gold to snag good kiosk locations for trade guilds.

The smarter New Console Players (NCPs) won't suffer much in Cyrodiil because they'll be in non-vet campaigns. If they are dumb enough to get into regular campaigns and go up against VR14s as level 10-49, they probably won't have as good an experience.

You can do much better as a battle leveled non vet than you can as a low VR character. Research how battle leveling works and you will see. While low VR level characters can contribute they are usually easily killed by VR14's unless the low VR character is pretty experienced.

Z completely ruined console ESO and screwed over every new console player big time - before it even launched.
Because some clueless suit got greedy and wanted to milk the cash from potential console players a year early... which let to this whole character transfer copy fiasco.
Well, that's an achievement, too, I guess... but most certainly not one to be proud of.

I expect a bunch of the traders to way overbid on vendors then way overprice...

Gonna be awhile before anyone but transfers have any real money.

lol 3/4 of the store people them couldn't operate a store without 5 addons, so dunno how they are gonna live in console land.

As for PVP.. as I said in another thread. Since pre-release, I have been killed 1vs1 exactly 2 times. Mostly I get killed 3-4 vs 1 or zerged.

Yeah there may be some 600 CP guy killing 4 people at once. Guy probably killed 4 people at once with 0 CP too. Some of these people are really good even without macros.

This isn't a 1 vs 1 or even a 3vs3 bracket arena. You aren't going to see fair fights. Some alliance will have more people on the map than you.. and you will get crushed. The third Aliiance will see that, and instead of attacking the other guy will pile on your stuff too.

As for leveling...The game isn't new even if we all had new chars. If I really went out of my way not to have fun, I could have a level 1 to VR2-3 character in 24 hours. People who actually grind a lot would do way better than that.

There was a level 60 (max) characters in Neverwinter on Day 2 on the Xbox... almost all of them were PC people (Neverwinter had no transfers). Since they understood all the mechanics and different money types, they got ahead in the markets and still made a killing as people caught up.

Without banning everyone who had ever played ESO, there would be no clean servers. Knowing about gear, and skills and chests, dolmens, world bosses, quests and open and party only dungeons is a massive advantage over someone staggering out of coldharbor and getting beaten by a guard for cleaning off a vendor table in the main square.

Every one of the people complaining in here played PC at one point it seems. You aren't starting from scratch either.

Who is not going to play the game on console because people have characters transferred over? Hell, even if you turned around and said thanks PC players for spending all your time in the game and maxing your chars but now start again. They will still have an advantage - experience. Further more, some people will hit VR14 in around a week, for others it will take months.

I'm not talking about giving the whole game a pass just because of transferred characters. But if I were about to start on consoles, I'd feel a bit peeved with that decision and especially the exploitation of character transfers going on. And these feeling tend to pile up... After some time players will begin not to give ZOS the benefit of the doubt, just like it happened on the PC version.
