Please read the thread. Like I mentioned "I have seen the countless posts about this but to think that everyone should have seen the offer is absolutely ignorant. Please think about other peoples lives where they are less fortunate to have seen the promotion because they work a very busy job, are dealing with family issues, or are in the military."

You are not taking everyone into consideration here. I understand where you're coming from when you ask me that. I would just like ZoS to doing something for the less fortunate, that is all. Thanks. :)

They can't because then everyone that ignored the emails becomes "less fortunate", everyone comes up with a sob story and expects to get the same treatment as whomevers story ZOS picked first. In *this* ZOS is being completely fair across the board.

Why was there a deadline for transferring anyway? THis should be a thing all the time. Other games allow you to transfer between servers at the drop of a hat.

It is a copy. If you allow people to copy characters all the time, they will duplicate valuable items.

If you move characters, deleting the character from one server (and all their gear), it makes sense to allow that on demand.

Allowing you to copy once and once only would have solved that issue.

    Absolutely agree with you here.

Again, @Obsicarius ZOS is being level headed. How do they decide between who is telling the truth or not? Start asking people to provide proof? Devote people to verifying death notices, dr notes and w/e?

If they take it at face value, how many other people are going to exploit that? Sticking to their guns is the most fair thing they can do across the board.

I agree with you, but why is there a limitation on it at all then. The only limitation was made last year on the announcement of this offer, Why add another one? You get what I am saying here? No argument just discussion. Because you do have very fair points.

That goes into what we don't know. It could be like @NewBlacksmurf (I think) said and it has something to do with Sony or Microsoft, it could simply be that it was a way to ensure half the server wasn't OP compared to all the new players, it could simply be they didn't want to work too hard on it. I doubt they will be truly transparent on that, they could surprise us though.

I do feel bad for any/all that have a genuine reason for missing it, I just understand why they aren't taking it into consideration.

If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Yes, Absolutely. I do understand and agree with this but If that were the case than the announcement of this promotion should have never been made. I can understand the reasons now as to why they might have done it as limited time, but still do not agree with it at all. All in all I just wish some short time followup offer would be made. Because at this point I have no reason to buy the game and will not. I do hate this scenario and agree with the ones that actually did comment and discuss the issue. And I do understand that this has been mentioned plenty of times on the forums. The difference with my post from the others is that I tried to be as level headed as possible and give the full explanation of this side. I am willing to buy the game at full price again as well. I played my time on PC and loved it, so like any other game, If I want it on another console, than I buy it for another console. I just wish they'd hold up their offer for character transfer, because I have no reason to play on PC anymore. The people I played with on PC are no longer there to play anymore, and I think It is fair to try and enjoy the game with another group.

I don't think it has anything to do with balance but rather the details of the agreements had to follow three different companies legal teams and directors.

If I'm allowing a developer to launch a title who is also paying for advertising space on my console portal (speaking of Xbox One from what I've see on the console and adds on the console) id want to see limitations because as a console company they have profit margins and expenses that developers have to pay or cover costs for.

I won't pretend to know what is discussed at those tables but for my two jobs working with prominent companies, there are some very limiting stipulations, rules and regulations that apply and when adding other large parties, those stipulations and rules and limitations get tighter and tighter especially when your 12 months overdue

I even received the email about the console and I don't even own a console. Maybe when you guys signed up you unchecked the box to receive updates on game. Unfortunately if that is the case that is clearly your fault.

They shouldn't make promises they cannot keep, or at least be fair enough to explain all the limitations before having someone buy the game and waste their time on it. They fished money out of my pocket in this situation just like they did others. Whether you agree or not does not matter here. You are being ignorant to say that everyone was capable of seeing the news at the time, especially since it was a limited time offer. They have plenty of room to give incentive to old players here. All I am asking for is a character transfer like they promised. And your dad is right with the saying. But its not snoozing when you have other things going on in your life. Just bigger responsibility.

Would it? You borrow money and fill your inventory with borrowed stacks of kuta. Then transfer. Now you give all the borrow items back to those lender friends not moving to console.

The damage is less with the one time transfer since it means less transfers and, by doing them all at once, you can't have friends taking turns filling their inventories with stacks of kutas.

I'm jumping in cause I shared this in another very similar thread that is now locked due to personal info

As of 5-2014 this is what you were "offered" and note nothing was "promised"

    http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/2014/05/08/eso-on-consoles--update

Read our update regarding ESO’s availability on next-gen consoles.

We know from the frequent questions we get that many of you are excited about playing ESO on the PS4 and Xbox One, and today we’d like to share an official update on the status of these releases. Read on for the latest information:

We've been grateful to our fans for the wonderful response to our recent launch of The Elder Scrolls Online for PC/Mac, but we know many of you are eagerly waiting to play the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

We continue to work on the console versions of ESO, and game development has been progressing steadily, but we are still working to solve a series of unique problems specific to those platforms. Integrating our systems with each console manufacturer’s networks—which are both different from the PC/Mac system as well as different from each other—has been a challenging process. It has become clear that our planned June release of the console versions isn’t going to be possible. Though we have made great progress, we have concluded that we’ll need about six months to ensure we deliver the experience our fans expect and deserve.

We know that the news of an ESO console delay is as disappointing to many of you as it is to us. We want to do what we can to make it up to our fans who want to start playing now, so we have worked out the following arrangement with Sony and Microsoft:

Via a special offer, anyone who purchases and activates the PC/Mac version of The Elder Scrolls Online by 6/30/14 (11:59pm UTC) will have the opportunity to transfer their character(s) to either console version when they are released. The offer will allow you to begin playing immediately on the PC/Mac, and then add the PS4 or Xbox One version and transfer the character(s) you have created and developed. And, you don’t have to pay full price for the game twice. For $20, eligible PC and Mac players will have the option to add a full, digital version of ESO on either the PS4 or the Xbox One with your character transfer(s), and another 30 days of included game time.

Whether you decide to take advantage of this offer or not, we promise to do everything we can to get the game released on both consoles as quickly as we can. We will keep everyone updated with additional details regarding character transfers, specific offer dates, when you can expect console beta to start, and of course, when ESO on consoles will launch.

Thank you for your patience and loyal support.

It honestly sounds like the pitch was made and Sony and Microsoft agreed but then looking at the actual sales vs sales potential it's possible that the window of opportunity was left up to Sony and Microsoft along with Zenimax so thinking about three different companies coming to an agreement on a promotional offer tends to drive limiting factors

Don't think of it as "just" Zenimax even though they may be paying the difference or being charged in some ways by Sony and Mircosoft

It is possible the initial character copy is part of the initial build. It is possible that any future transfer is problematic as you have separate platforms, all with their own contracts for what their cut is on each in-game purchase sale. This is more obvious with a purchase to transfer from xbox to ps.

It is also likely that the cutoff date was early because they need time to validate the transfer before launch.

It took ZOS 12 months to get the console versions in a state to pass certification for both Sony and Microsoft consoles.
Even as of today they haven't confirmed exactly what to expect when the copy is done per ZOS posts as late as today....

It's definitely a three company limitation and not just up to ZOS

The Xbox one pre order just hit the store a few days ago before the weekend and ESO plus nor the crown purchases show up on either console as well as ppl like me are still waiting on the console game codes to start our pre-install downloading.

Then there is the 15 gig patch update

I'm just hoping we get to play on June 9-10th at this point with our copied accounts.

Ppl still have to somehow link their gamertags to the Zenimax account unless each code does so

    Also yet to be confirmed

Like I told you, I had my reasons like others did to not see the promotion. All together whether you want to classify it as a promise or not, This is massive slap to the face to their veteran customers. They weaseled out of it to their veteran members and now gave me no reason to come back to their game. Yes, they didn't guarantee anything and they don't have to do anything about this. But I like many others obviously feel betrayed by this company. I am the voice of many that are upset.

IF you still missed all of this as of March and April on the help site you'll find this:

    https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/list/kw/Console transfer/search/1

I'm sorry but anyone who missed out, did so and is their own responsibility as the info was out there officially and via 5 or 6 other social media and another 4-5 gaming sites

I understand you're not upset at me but rather the companies involved but did you read all the info in my comments and the info on the help pages?

Or just Google or bing anything about ESO console transfer

There is a lot out there since April 9th

Even YouTube, Twitter, reddit, Facebook, tumblr, the forums

I'm just saying that regardless of what was going on in your world...if not you, then someone you know and trust could've made the $20 purchase. It didn't require even logging into the game.

I even received the email about the console and I don't even own a console. Maybe when you guys signed up you unchecked the box to receive updates on game. Unfortunately if that is the case that is clearly your fault.

    You said:
"My intent is to buy a game and play it to have fun, I am not going to follow every last bit of it throughout my entire life.* < My dad use to have a great saying for that. "If you snooze you lose."

Still it comes down to it isn't ZoS fault, they gave you 30 days and it does not matter if you missed the email or not. It is kind of funny how many excuses are being given but unfortunately this is the internet and we all know you can't believe everything you read on the internet. Still the way that email reads ZoS would not only have to agree to it but also ask M$ and Sony to OK it and I really do not see that happening. But that is life it isn't always fun.

Oh by the way I know you didn't mean that ignorant part, you are just mad because you are realizing you aren't going to get what you want. :(

I wonder if there will be trouble after the game hits console and how long ago the accounts were prepared for the transfer?

This is what I mean. I come on here for a discussion and only one person has provided it thus far. Every other comment is youre're SOL or shut up and deal with it. On top of that it is the same exact people that have commented on every post about this. No help at all here. Its not about getting what I want. But even if ZoS released a statement to speak about all the people in uproar about this. There is no response here from anyone that can actually do anything about this. And not a single true hard fact as to why they did it this way. So on that. No other comment here is relevant to the issue at hand. And I like everyone else atleast would like to know why.

Why was there a deadline for transferring anyway? THis should be a thing all the time. Other games allow you to transfer between servers at the drop of a hat.

Because, this also included a digital copy of the console version of the game for $20. If this was just about the transfer, things might have been different.

It feels like a money grab when it's limited because some people may have said, "oh, well I can copy at any time moving forward I won't do it now."

You know, to be honest with you, people say and think a lot of things, and some of those things are wrong. Zeni did what they said they were going to do. Every person who purchased and activated the PC version of the game by a certain time on a certain date was to be offered the opportunity to transfer their characters to either console for $20, including a digital copy of the game. They even said that there would be specific offer dates, which they shared when it was time to do the offer.
    Obsicarius wrote: »
Like I mentioned in the post, it is one thing if the money offer was limited time. But why limit the time for transfer of characters as well. I am at this point fine with paying another $60 for the game. I think the studio did very well with the game and how far it has come at this point. But not having the ability to transfer my characters and items is upsetting because everything on PC now seems to be a waste. The point of transferring to console was to have more people to play with.

They may be intending to offer transfers between the platforms separately. It would be nice if they would enlighten us on the subject, but my guess is that everything has to wait for the word to come down from On High in the next The Road Ahead. ZOS does require that all stars be in the proper alignment before they announce things. No one is allowed to speak out of turn. Approval must be in the form of written permission, in triplicate, filed 60 days in advance, and signed by Firor, who only does it on alternate Thursdays during any month starting with the letter "Z".

To all those who still feel concessions need to be made for your situations....

I wish you the best but I know I and thousands of others posted in all types of places, sent text mags to friends, phone calls, memes and what not

If your life choices keep you secluded from all of those channels then by all means, it's unfortunate that the deadline has come and gone but keep in mind that those choices may cause you to miss other opportunities as well.

Life and choices aren't fair nor will they ever be.
Opportunities come and go and typically the best way to operate is always within a perspective companies suggestions based on their marketing practices.

For this company please be sure to align yourself with a few of the following

    -check this sites news weekly
-make sure to add them in your email so it never goes to spam
-sign up and follow them or one or all social media sites: Google+,Pinterest, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and Tumlr

I might just be biased because my toons on pc are low leveled and not worth transferring but I actually am disappointed they are allowing PC to console character and item transfers.

I liked the idea of everyone starting from the beginning.....like in other MMOs where in the beginning of the MMO if you wanted a character on a new server you had to make a new one.

People always seem to just want to level up as fast as possible then complain about not enough end game content.

Back on thread topic....I never received an email about allowing people who purchased the game for PC the ability to pay only $20 for the console game and allow transfers.

I received an email about a survey for possible console beta testing on April 15 but never got an email selecting me and I kept watch over my emails looking for anything ESO related. There was not anything in that email about PC to console transfers etc.

So they can send a survey email about info for beta but not one for the purchase discount? sounds like a convenient loophole.

Oh well $60 or $79 really isn't that much so I will try it for the console anyhow. Hopefully I can get my wife to play too.....
For young people, students etc I can see how that would be a lot of money and don't blame them for coming here complaining

You do know it was pasted in every thread on this topic from a mod that they are sorry but it will not happen. So yes you have been answered yet refuse to admit they answered the question.

Don't get me wrong I understand exactly what you are talking about and how you feel. I have paid from day 1 and still do every month to support the game and I thought it wasn't enough on what they gave us from being loyal to them from beta and right into live and to B2P! I complained a lot about only getting extra XP all DLC's (as long as subbed) and a pet. Didn't seem fair to me but in the long run I sucked it up and decided I still love the game and just let it die. You can only beat a dead horse so much.

I literally just commented with all official ZOS statements.
The info is out there just as the offer was out there.

I'm hoping to share with others have and where to get the info for any future offers but this offer has come and gone per the ZOS statements. Also from the ZOS employees on twitch live...the opportunity has come and gone and will not be offered again.

It was indeed a money grab. it was a way to pretty much guarantee a certain number of console players right out the gate... kind of a soft-padding of the console numbers.

Even if the offer did come again and cost money I'd be okay with it at this point. Anyway

Thanks to anyone that did try to help here. I do appreciate it. I understand why people might be heated after hearing this complained about a lot. But this is just an aggravating issue for me as well.

You guys do need to understand that customer support is pushing everyone to make a post on the forums about this though. It is not us doing this just to complain, It is the direction customer support says to go to best get a response from the developers. All in all I hope something happens, whether another limited time offer for more $$ or even announcement on their part.

I am done here, and again. Thanks to anyone that tried to help. I am just another voice in the crowd Haha.

    UPDATE:
On BigM's Comment. The response she explained I would get would be from the devs. So I will take your comment as towards that.

You made a well thought out post, you took your time to come here and try and either get information, get support or maybe just vent what you see as a wrong. I appreciate that. Your post and followups was interesting and provocative.

Unfortunately there are a majority of folks here that don't read the posts, skim or just exercise their right to ship all over some one else's troubles...I'm not one of those, even if I disagree. And I don't disagree with you.

The bottom line is (whether you were informed of the narrow window of redemption of offer or not. Or put yourself in a position to receive that offer by being on every social app there is) it is a tiny window of opportunity to redeem the offer you are otherwise qualified for. It is an arbitrary time frame. It could have been 15 days or 32 days. They picked 30. I think that sucks big time. Either more time (I dunno 60 days? 90?) or the option to pay more dollars to transfer that character (crown points) in the future would make sense to me. Then I am someone that enjoys the game and wants everyone to be able to play. You know, I'm an enabler. Kind of like what ZOS should be doing. Making it easy to play.

After all ZOS got people that were waiting for console to pay for and play the game this past year to get off their back about a broken promise of being ready JUNE 2014. These people made & played characters for a year. The loyalty alone of playing and paying for a year should resonate with anyone with a reasonable view of "fair-play".
A 30 day window and the expectation that you receive emails of every plushie and Fallout4 bobblehead promotion is not reasonable fair play.

Good luck to you playing something else. Most of my friends and guildmates have left too.

    [/quote]

They aren't really telling people to go here for an answer, just to discus the problem.

And actually what really was the answer? You didn't sign up within the 30 days so too bad....why only 30 days?
Why wasn't everyone sent emails? I was sent an email survey but nothing about transfers etc.
I never received transfer notification and I played PC beta and prepurchased the game but no I didn't play much on the PC, I didn't really like the controls but me and especially people like me should have been sent an email in the beginning of April and heck call me crazy but if they really cared about the players they might have even sent another email a few days before the offer ended.

Personally I really don't care about transfer/$20 game but I just hate seeing people bash others who weren't sent the offers and say it was their fault. People online can be so rude.
My thoughts are they could still allow transfers but choose not to so they can charge for it.

This is the first I have heard of the deadline. I made sure to buy the game for PC last year to make sure I made that deadline, despite playing on a toaster at the time. This is very upsetting to hear, like I said, I had not heard of this deadline until now. I was looking forward to the console release because I had friends who were planning on playing it there, but wanted to test it out on my console before hand. Now that I wont be getting my transfer, and I wont be paying for the same game in full price twice, I wont be playing the game on the console, so those guys wont be picking up the game either.

This was handled very poorly. I am very upset with ZoS now.

I have to ask, you bought the game on PC and played right through to B2P or did you quit for awhile and never checked up on anything about the console release?
