please stop ganking players when they turned quests, they are stuck at turning and cant do anything, defend, nothing. What are you proud of collecting these kills? zen fail to deliver safe zone around quest npcs, so please, tell in your guilds to not do this, punish them for this. Try to watch from time to time your own territory cities and kill these scums. you all not only veterans complain about zerging, so this can be your way to have 1vs1 fight and do right thing in one. spred this, do this. thank you for your time

If you don't like PvP with all that it entails, please don't go to PvP zones. No to safe zones, accept the risk as part of being there.

The truth is that Cyrodiil is an open pvp zone with no specific rules. As much as it is despicable to gank players when they are powerless it is part of the game. Brings an extra dimension to do quests in Cyro compared to pve zones. I don´t think we need specific pve zones in Cyro. That is against the idea of pvp. You can always try coming back and get your revenge.

Sighs another whine thread, you are in a war zone, it happens.

    Adapt.

You said omg. its not about pvp, its about bad design and scum behaviour. i spend almost all my game time at cyrodiil, so dont force me to go pve zones....

If as you said, you are in cyrodil all the time, then surely you would know by now that it is a war zone, and anything can happen.

I will admit, I do not like cheap kills either, and can sympathize to a degree over your woes, but at the same time, if you are in Cyrodil then accept the fact, that you are at war, be it whether you accept it or not.

And you are gonna die, so adapt better, check your surroundings before you hand in quests, get trained....

It aint care bear lands, so you are gonna be lit up if a enemy sees you most of the time.

I dunno human.... I personally enjoy the thrill that I might get attacked at any second, and I also absolutely love taking down one of those EP or DC scumbags whenever I see them, especially when they haven't seen me yet. It's part of the game, it adds to the excitement, and as said before, if you are in a war zone, what do you expect? Keep your wits about you, suss the area out, and then go for it when you think it is safe. Paranoia is your friend in Cyrodil.

I believe when I played SWTOR it had a system that while you were engaged in dialogue with NPC's you were immune to attacks. To my knowledge that system worked fine and could be adapted to work in Cyrodiil as a safe mark.

The abuse side could be players talking to an NPC to become invincible but surely you could block them from NPC dialogues while in combat.

All in theory of course.

I mean no one who is a serious PVP player should feel a loss from killing a player who can't defend themselves, unless that's considered quality PVP these days.

If you are in Cyrodiil expect only to meet bottom feeders, gankers and in general *** whose whole mission is to make others miserable.
This is always and everywhere the same in PvP (any game). So better prepare yourself; if you cant handle that... well... leave. There is really no other option.

Every now and then you will be pleasantly surprised and can meet "nice" enemies, too.

I think this nails the problem with the situation. Yes, it's pvp. There is an expectation that you can be targeted anywhere at any time. I get that. Why then are we given quest dialogue that we may want to read in a zone that can have us 1.5 seconds away from death at any time? It's either poor design or a troll on the part of ZoS to give us pages of NPC text that we would be foolish to stop and read.

Quest givers could very easily be inside instanced houses that were tiny "safe zones" if ZoS wanted to go that way. A small tiny break from the war outside while you cash in your quest. Also a good stopping point if you need to afk while in the middle of one of the quest chains in Cyrodiil. Yes, gankers could still hang out by the door and force you to fight to get in, but once you're in, you can read the NPC text safely at your own pace. They could also be made into a teleportation point so that your best way to get out of Cyrodiil isn't always "let something kill me so I can get back to the gate"

    Couldn't agree more.

There are two ways to improve oneself, in a game or IRL : one is upping yourself, the other is bringing others down.

There is not much I can do against players who like ganking other players in Cyrodiil PVE quest giver zones, but it says A LOT about how these people are unable to play proper PvP and rely on this only method to actually feel powerful. It also says a lot about the RL person who makes such choices. Some people just feel strong from killing flies, that just shows how weak they really are.

I managed to have this behaviour completely condemned and banned from my guild, and even though I cannot control everyone, at least those who "play" that way must shut up about it and cannot express any "pride". It required a bit of explaining within the guild but it worked and I encourage all of you who are against this practice to try and do the same within your guilds. Believe me, guilds *want* mature civilized members to stay in the guild as opposed to immature Kevins. If you're grouped in Cyro with your guild, express your disagreement with ganking other players in PVE situations and even leave the group when it happens, then your guild leader will start thinking.

I also want to testify that some people actually play smart. I occasionally met some reds and yellows (I'm blue) in Cyrodiil delves and it was extremely fun and RP to "communicate" with what we had (weapon sheashed, emotes... ) to show each other that we were not willing to fight each other, and it worked. Feels great.

I even happened to do a dolmen with a "red" and believe me, it was fun and challenging to fight the mobs without hurting each other. Was fun and psychologically rewarding too.

I don't think there is a need for save spots in Cyrodiil. One of the most satisfying things in PvP is to kill the person that tried to gank me. Many gankers aren't the most skilled players so you can beat them if you prepare a bit. Just activate a hot and put up a shield before talking to an npc or getting a skyshard and go in stealth when entering a house or cave.

Eh, I can go either way on this.

PvP happened in a PvP zone, etc.

But not gonna really upset me if they make players immune to attack while engaged in dialogue w/ a NPC, and it makes sense for a game that has so much invested in voice acting, etc.

But really, it's not that hard to exit out of the dialogue.

Um, no, PvP is about "Player vs Player".

That's it. That is literally it.

Keep your own moral dilemmas to yourself and quit trying to force others to play your way.

I may not gank people at quest givers or do other underhanded things, but it'll be a hot day in Coldharbour before I try to make other people play exactly the way that I do.
