As the poll says, please explain why you voted for "No". I'd really like to hear someone's reason for voting that way. I see no downside to adding it back, but fear I might be overlooking something.
EDIT: Removed the calls. ZoS answered.

If this happens to you often then you are probably doing something to instigate it.
Translation: Feel free to waste your time to discuss something trivial that totally takes you away from the real issues the game has.
The LOL tag was sometimes abused, which is why it was removed. For example, people would LOL posts they disagreed with, and on some occasions would systematically LOL all recent posts by a particular member. While far from heavy trolling, it was misused like this with a fair frequency, and occasionally contributed to escalating tensions or other problems. These issues eventually outweighed any good it was contributing, which is why we decided to remove it.
At the moment we aren't considering a return of the LOL flag. However, we certainly don't mind discussion of bringing it back.
The reason they removed it was because of trolling where a player would post something serious and another player would respond with a LOL, just to get a response from the OP. In the age of Internet bullying, I think LOL was removed to prevent a player from getting offended. I personally don't care one way or another.
We live in a politically correct world.

You just confirmed exactly what @PKMN12 said, thank you. I shall share my opinion with you too: Why not add a "LOL" button again, but along with a new actual "Disagree" button? If one member is found abusing the "Disagree" button, maybe there can be some method to ban them from using any of those buttons? Let's face it, if they'll abuse a "Disagree" button, they'll likely abuse "Agree", "Insightful", or "Awesome" too.
Without a disagree button, a person who disagrees is more likely to partake in a discussion as opposed to simply clicking "disagree" and move on. This behavior is fine for people who agree, since no difference in opinion exists.
No - we really aren't because some of us are concerned that anything we say will be taken as baiting/trolling some kind of thing if we don't say it all pink and sparkly - even if the OP or the comment we disagree with was utterly rude.
As long as the moderation is so utterly inconsistent I am not going to be bothered with writing out a statement in response to a ridiculous post which is stupid, whiny or both.
I will answer you (even to disagree) because your comment has nothing that will force me to have to be blatantly honest in my disagreement and the reason/s for it - and then get nabbed by mods if I call a duck a duck. ;-)
I've openly disagreed with many posts on the forums. To insinuate that disagreement is grounds for moderation is silly. Your only requirement is that you aren't abusive with your response - which isn't an extraordinary feat to abide by.
I didn't insinuate anything I flat out stated it as fact because it is a fact - but we are not allowed to discuss moderations on the forums as this is against the rules too so I cannot even post proof of it without getting warned or even banned. I have over 550 'agrees' and it is not because I am talking rubbish here.
I do not trust the moderation here. End of.
Think whatever you like.

IMO we need a LoL, Disagree, Strongly Disagree, and You're a Moron button. Encouraging stupidity for politeness sake just encourages stupidity.

According to an older poll, the split between people using lol for something funny and people using it as a sign of ridicule was about 50/50. In specific instances it was usually possible to tell which is which, but it did make the totals meaningless. If you really like a joke, why not use "awesome"?

OK, so with all this discussion about the LOL button and a Disagree button, I think we've lost track of what's really important. Where's the "wat" button?timborggrenlarsenb16_ESO wrote: »All xp are to easy - The game are for kids when it comes to the xp gain.

...why such a system to begin with?
Is "Like" and "Dislike" too simplistic? Either more options or two options is how I see it.
"Upvote" or "Downvote" is fine.
"LOL" "DISAGREE" "AGREE" "INSIGHTFUL" "AWESOME" "CONCERNING" "BRUTAL" "DISGUSTING" "ENTERTAINING" "KIND" "APPRECIATED" "SAD" or even "L2P" are all valid responses to a post.
What's with the candy land "let's just be positive guuuys. OK guuuuys. Just be nice guuuuuys. We don't want to be meanies guuuuuuys."
...these forums could use a bit more *** and vinegar... I get that not everyone has as thick of skin as others, and some folks take the things they get in response personally, or a bit too seriously, but defacto removing the "LOL" button is just plain baby proofing. I'm not saying I do not respect moderator staff making the call to do so, there house their rules, I'm merely saying the lack of a negative feedback option in general basically invalidates having a positive one. Oh yay, you have 500 agrees...never mind if there was a Disagree option you'd have 5000 of those.
...thinking of what the little notification message would say for 5000 Disagrees; "Yeah, maybe you should just, like, stop...like seriously... burn your keyboard."
Any who I'm all for bringing back ALL OF THE BUTTONS

I don' get why people want to be able negatively flag a post so badly. You can still laugh at people and be negative, you just cant do it anonymously.
If you want to express your disapproval by using insightful, feel free to troll my posts as much as you like.

Yeah, because we all know that community managers and mods are devs!Too bad ZoS spends so much time tracking what people are using what forum buttons for what users... instead of launching new content in a game that has become completely stagnant for 6 months running now...

So, if ZOS doesnt want the people to use "lol" as "disagree" - give us a "disagree"! Beside: Even if they dont want to give us the "lol" back, I want a "disagree".
We arent in kindergarten anymore, let us show, if we dont agree with a posting. And if some are trolling, punish the trolls, not the whole community, by generating an artificial cloud-cuckoo-land in pink, where all love each other and have the same opinion and all opinions are equaly valid, gnnnn...
And no: not all people want to write an answer to a posting they disagree with: not all of us have the time, beside: if english isnt your mothers tongue, a good reply takes even longer. And there is no guarantee that people will actually read up to the replies which tell why a posting is wrong, so having a disagree button would also help the readers of this forum.
just my two cent
