often back to back, for no other reason than "just cus"

i have given up on any hope of this game getting past this, or ZOS managing to fix all their major bugs..

it has been several months since i had a day where i did not encounter either a Crash report, or broken loading screen (infinite failed zone change)

today it got really bad, 2 crashes in the past 20 minutes alone, and 5 over the day.. additionally 6 endless loadscreens, requring a restart of client to get out of and attempt to change zones again. those last 3 crash reports were rather snippy... one was just a rant and then the next was literally just **** YOU over and over untill i hit the character limit..

its not addons..

its not the PC..

its this game and its awful coding..

i enjoy this game a lot... but this issue is getting worse, and i cant see it getting any better.

Same here. Regular crashing several times an hour since 1.6 went live, and like you said, it almost always get worse with each patch. I send in a support ticket a couple weeks ago, and got a useless auto-reply that closed my ticket, suggesting I open port forwarding on my router. Really ZOS?

I crash randomly every 30 - 90mins. I have also had to 'repair' the download 4 times because I get a 'patch number not recognised' message.

I will not sub for a game that randomly crashes.

Same here, today I deleted ESO completely and just finished reinstalling it. Running it with no addons at all, gonna see if it crashes (it crashed even with all addons turned off yesterday, but perhaps something was corrupt with the game files).

if you get Patch Number not recognised, I find that just killing the launcher and restarting solves the issue.

These issues have been in the game since launch and they have not found a fix yet, so I wouldn't hold your breaths.

Yup I get crashes too, and lately those endless loading.
I find the endless loading more annoying than crashing because with crashing you know the game is over.. With endless loading you cannot tell if its really still loading or if you have to close the game.

Watch Francis YouTube video on ESO.
Not only has not much changed, hes correct with his "NOT ANOTHER DAY WITH ANOTHER GAME CRASHING BUG!!!" "bugs bug bug bug bugs" "they should rename this game buggy mc bug house"

What a normal company does after getting bad reviews is resolve the issue and than invite them to come try it again... I havent played 11 months ago when Francis played, but I'm still getting game crashing bugs, endless loading bugs, npcs and objects not showing bugs... I fully understand Francis RAGE with "bugs bug bug bug bugs"

Funny thing is, in the text portion he has #GETREKT

But yes, I get those game crashing bugs too, some days just as bad as you mentioned back to back less than an hour, but lately its been endless loading for.

I run ZERO, ZIP ZILTCH, NADA, addons. NEVER installed an addon too.
I dont believe in making game easier than it already is.
Run ZERO addons yet I get several game crashes and endless loading and npcs and objects not loading.

I run GW2, never crashed, never got endless loading, npcs and objects ALWAYS load. GW2 is just a tiny bit ABOVE the norm too, its not really that great of a game either.

Game being expected not to crash, game expected to not have endless loading, game expected to have npcs and objects load ALL the time is just the NORM.... Yet this game falls WELL below the norm in those categories.

Stability problems here too, it just freezez in cities... 1-3 times a day.

Expected this to be fixed by now but my best guess is that they have everyone working on the console builds and whatever is left on the crown store.

O well... would be funny is its on consoles too :D then we can expect a quick fix hopefully.

FWIW, I run a ton of addons (20+) and mine crashes only 1 or 2 times a day. Keep in mind that I work to make sure I've plenty of resources to handle this many addons and keep an eye out for conflicts. My wife has a beefier PC and runs less addons yet crashes more often. So I do think the unknown and contributing variable here is in fact the game. Still, I'm speculating.

Either way, you may not want to put yourself through any unnecessary suffering as I've seen no difference in running with or without them, other than the significanct boost to gameplay enjoyment and convenience.

I crash 1-2 times a day but noticed something in this thread that crashing occurs when sprinting In the Rift. Thinking about it, most times I crash I'm in a rush and sprinting through a city when the crash occurs. Anyone else notice a pattern like that?

^^ yes, in fact the pattern for me is almost always when I'm mounted, sprinting and with maneuvers. I notice a choppiness setting in and then "ESO has stopped responding...".

So maybe something to do with the loading of the world. EDIT: confirmed pattern is similar w/wife

Yup, more crashes here too, mostly in populated areas, starts to get choppy and crashes shortly afterwards unless I preempt it and relaunch the game when the choppyness sets in.

same here i get 3-4 a day someone told me it was my pc when i made a thread about it, but im running a full liquid cooled 8core cpu custom loop with 28gig of ram and a sapphire r9 290x graphics card that runs gta 5 in eyefinity flawless, online and offline at a res of 5760 x 1080p i play eso windowed so there should not be any problem but there is, it seems to me that it has got worse since free to play like the (Megga Server is getting to much load ) as i never really got any loading screens before free to play.

I run addons, the only crashes I have is when for some reason my router decides rebooting is a good idea, or suddenly drops the traffic speed to a 1mb/s. other than that. no issues... some quests are bugged, Cyr lags, but no crahses or endless loading... are you sure you get enough internet speed?

By the way, I'm not so sure that game freezes and game crashes are related. I don't think I've ever had a game freeze, as in one that you have to use Task Manager to get out of.

What I get are crashes to desktop with the option to send a bug report to ZOS. So these two problems probably have very different origins.

The infinite loading screens may also be a completely unrelated third problem...

My game freezes randomly sometimes, maybe 0-2 times a day. My computer is more than powerful enough to run the game at a high level, but still have freezing issues. Not sure what is causing it, but something is wrong. I get infinite load screens sometimes, but not often at all.

The only time I get crashes is in Mournhold if I am sprinting while completing another action such as opening a map or inventory. If I stop and then open it I won't get the freeze/crash. The game never actually crashes, I just get sick of the freeze and restart. Outside of that very specific instance, I don't get any crashes like I did when the justice system came out. I would go crazy if I were playing with tons of crashes like you all seem to be :(

I am going to state for the record, as I am most indignant having just crashed during a long load again!!

THIS IS THE ONLY GAME I CRASH ON!!!

Why can they not put this to the top of their to-do list?!

I didn't play this game for a few days, as I am abjectly fed up with long loading and 3-6 crashes per day! On my return, 2 crashes in 2 hours...

This will drive me away in perpituity it this continue's....

I am having this problem as well, seemsmlike every other time I try to leave a dungeon I hit infinite load

This is something we identified as a bug when folks load multiple different areas in a group . If you all teleport together and wait your less likely to bug out, but if your party member exits, then you exit, and the teleport somewhere, lead times increase drasticly. From what I can tell, the extended time seems to be as long as it takes a dungeon to reset.

Infinite load screens have been an issue since day 1 over a year ago. I have been optimistic about ZOS hoping they would get their stuff together and fix their game, but I'm close to giving up hope. They are too focused on console and either don't have the man power or the know-how to fix the bugs that have been around since launch. PC players are just going to get the shaft from here on out with console release.

Its very annoying when you're running it on ssd and usually fast but then it hangs...probably would be less annoying if I wasn't comparing it to see speeds that usually work :(

I was running ESO in Windows 10(beta version that uses the same drivers/backend as Windows 8.1) for almost 6 months without issues - until around 1.6 launched. Windows also did an large update at around this time. I started experiencing the same issues the OP and others have mentioned in this thread. I tried all of the mentioned fixes, and did not get any improvement. I figured since I was using a beta version OS, I might be out of luck with support. I also noticed it having other issues, like sound not working after going into stand-by.

I fixed my issue completely (with the exception of the much less frequent long/infinite/random load screens) by doing the following.

There was firmware update for my Samsung SSD, which would fix and prevent the deterioration of read speeds. I ran that before re-installing a better supported OS, Windows 7 64bit. I downloaded the latest drivers from each manufacturer of my computers hardware and installed all of it fresh. I then patiently re-installed and patched ESO.

I've seen others with Windows 7 already, having the same issues. Which leads me to believe an OS reinstall is not the solution, but something that I did in process however, gave me great improvements. Video, Sound and other drivers, C++ Libraries, DirectX, and ESO game files were all reinstalled with the latest versions.

I understand the frustration those with this issue are having. Heck, I purchased an entirely new OS and did a complete reinstall. Just for ESO. :*

That's a whole lot of changes though...really hard to say what in there fixed it, but glad that you got your problem sorted.

I use this computer (also Windows 7 64-bit) for work, audio recording/mixing, and gaming, so I really can't justify the incredible time it would take to reinstall the OS just for ESO. But I am hopeful that my clean install of the game itself may have fixed some corrupted files. If not, then at least I can presumably rule out corruption as a cause of the crashes.

Interestingly I also have a Samsung SSD (the 850 Pro), but it has the latest drivers so...not sure if I am ready to blame that just yet.

Because every other piece of software on my computer works like a dream, I just have a really hard time pointing a finger at anything other than ESO itself. But we shall see
