Actually, I'm not voting because I have no idea what you're talking about.
Care to elaborate? Explain what you're talking about to those who haven't been around long?
IT was being abused to high heaven as a negative reaction, basically a downvote button, instead of being used for what it was meant for. everything lol was MEANT to be used for can basically be done with agree
if they actually HAD a downvote feature, then that would be one thing, but abusing another reaction type instead is stupid.
The LOL tag was sometimes abused, which is why it was removed. For example, people would LOL posts they disagreed with, and on some occasions would systematically LOL all recent posts by a particular member. While far from heavy trolling, it was misused like this with a fair frequency, and occasionally contributed to escalating tensions or other problems. These issues eventually outweighed any good it was contributing, which is why we decided to remove it.

At the moment we aren't considering a return of the LOL flag. However, we certainly don't mind discussion of bringing it back.

You just confirmed exactly what @PKMN12 said, thank you. I shall share my opinion with you too: Why not add a "LOL" button again, but along with a new actual "Disagree" button?

If one member is found abusing the "Disagree" button, maybe there can be some method to ban them from using any of those buttons? Let's face it, if they'll abuse a "Disagree" button, they'll likely abuse "Agree", "Insightful", or "Awesome" too.

Until they do this, there is always going to be confusion and mayhem on the forums because of people re-purposing other buttons to express disagreement. For example, I get "Awesome" clicks all the time, but does it really mean people think I'm awesome, or are they just [snip] with me? LOL, without a "Disagree" button as an option, I'll never know!
The reason they removed it was because of trolling where a player would post something serious and another player would respond with a LOL, just to get a response from the OP. In the age of Internet bullying, I think LOL was removed to prevent a player from getting offended. I personally don't care one way or another.
We live in a politically correct world.
I thought the new lol button/ disagree button was insightful?

Thank you for simply summing up why not everyone who would vote for "disagree" would also reply. I was having difficulties figuring out an example. You're exactly right.Psychobunni wrote: »A disagree button wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing (assuming again forum stalking was controlled) Not everyone wants to explain the reasons Sorc's are not OP on the 100th nerf Sorc thread for example...
