What? Of corse its an MMO..... I...... What?Argoniawind wrote: »For Starters Elder Scrolls games are open World RPGs ESO is an OWORPG, not an mmo.
Why would a single player game need a chat box?Argoniawind wrote: »I also don't recall any previous ES games having chat windows.
Bethesda didn't create this game Zenimax Online Studios did.Argoniawind wrote: »Also Morrowind, Obivion and Skyrim are the only 3 ES games that are on the xbox systems and soon ESO. I play on the console for not only the controller but authentically what Bethesda created
If you don't like mods..... don't download them?Argoniawind wrote: »and I don't have worry bout fan mods and addons, all genuine from the never swaying dev team geniuses... Now it seems this game is runn mostly by the mmo fans and that worries me greatly!!!

Wow I was a fan wayyyyyyyy before Skyrim, sorry I bought Morrowind on the Original xbox when it first came out!!!I think that the consoles offers some type of voice program, don't they? So just stand on the market place and shout out loud what you have to offer. If you shout loudest, then maybe someone will find you among the hundreds of other people doing the same
Yes this is sarcasm
Also, every RPG in this world is played with mouse & keyboard, so not having that supported is a big problem. Have you already forgotten how problematic the UI was at Skyrim on consoles?
If for whatever reason you don't like the comfort of keyboard and mouse, but prefer to use 20 fingers until you get what you want from your inventory, be our all guest. However, please respect and tolerate that there are people in this gaming world who have indeed grown up with ES games and therefore want the same comfort as they always had.
You don't need to use mouse and keyboard or chat.

How do you know what people are selling beforehand, or are you suggesting that you walk up to every single person who might have an emote icon above their head and ask them personally?
You don't think that's a little tedious?
I mean, I guess it's not that different from trying to buy anything from guild traders, which can be a pretty daunting task even w/ the selection they each carry.
I feel like this would be a downright frustrating method when you have to individually ask every single person who wants to sell something what the 1 item they are specifically trying to sell is.

Again trying to be open minded but sensible to all three platforms. Not just console
Gotta think ahead as windows 10 should soon allow apps to work on PC and Xbox One. So then it's easier to make a ps4 app and all three are in a better situation

Agree with most of what's been said.
I suppose a way round would be a chat windows and we push a button on an item in our bag and we get the option to
Want to sell
So if we highlight "want to sell" we get asked how much, we enter 50g, press a button and it comes up in the chat windows that xyz wants to sell abc for 50g
but then there's got to be a way of responding
NewBlacksmurf wrote: »@KrisButtar To be honest, the absense or inability to be able to do what I consider spam is what excites me about the console version.
In trying to be open minded suggesting to get a smart device is pretty much the same cost of buying a wireless keyboard.
Kindles are $80 and other smart devices can be less if the only purpose is to run apps while wireless keyboards are in the same price range. This isn't a reason to add text chat but rather another players preference.
You and others alike don't want to be pressured to buy other hardware just like console players who don't want to be pressured to buy a keyboard.
The app is the best reasonable solution or it can be a web app/smart device app instead. People don't want the spam and what comes with text chat. There is no way to add one without the other and I believe my comment above also points out value to please all groups in a way that is familiar to the gaming community.
EDIT: zone chat isn't a good way even on PC. Let's say the lfg tool is truly non functional on both PC and console and people who share your preferences want to sell items and have a better group finder plus a better chat experience. A web app and/or smart device app with other functionalities like map and useful add-on capabilities becomes the go to for all platforms.
Again trying to be open minded but sensible to all three platforms. Not just console

No you're not. If you would be open minded, you'd simply say...'I can live with adding back tex chat as long as I can disable it and never see it'.
But since you've been chopped down over and over, from thread to thread on this topic, you have wandered further and further away from being 'open minded'.
Lol...Windows 10 is years end for Xbox One release and no one wants to have to say 'Xbox snap text chat' app and have it take up 1/4 of their screen. And this latest convoluted solution you've come up with excludes the other console players on PS4. Sony isn't using Windows OS...at all.
Seriously....
