So it is more important to get a BARBERSHOP implemented, rather then the much needed Guild UI improvements, additions, and changes? What about player housing? Guild Halls? Any number of PvP improvements? How about fixing the LAG in Cyrodiil?

Really? Is this what my subscription now funds?

Color treatments, hair extensions, weaves, and perms for all! YAY!!!

There are two things I desperately want.

First off, voice change. My khajiit female bard sounds like a male orc grunting about.

Second, name change. When I created some of my characters, I had a specific build in mind. By the time I hit Veteran ranks, I realize that my mage is more fun to play as a thief, and my tank is more fun to play as a healer. I know it's just personal preferences, but now the names to me don't match the character.

I agree,Something else i am dying to have is changing height and body weigth,Maybe they should just give us a full re customization in crown store then the rest of this stuff can be in the world.

My character is way to skinny it makes all armor look really bad,And i am in no mood to play another character atm.. And his voice doesnt fit his character either.

I'm up for this. And I'll add my wish list:

    - More beards, including full beards, scruffy beards, tied/dyed/wild beards, and more than one obi-wan look.
    - More haircuts. Obviously. From bald to balding, thick and fruffy to frumpy.
    - More tattoos. Let me put as amny tattoos as I want, including overlapping them and/or removing them.
    - Paint. Like a tattoo, only colorful.
    - Scars, scratches, dirt and burns.

In the end, I want to make a nord look like a reachman, or an imperial look like cesar, or anywhere in between.

    I agree with this.

The appalling selection of hair, beard and tattoo etc options at character creation was a major let down for me.

In a modern AAA game there really should be more and better options in this area.

Heck, IMO LotRO has better beard / hair choices than ESO and LotRO is as old as dirt.

    All The Best

Those old MMOs also had cloaks.. Seriously,I was kinda dissapointed with teh customization and armors in ESO,It being an MMO and all i thought it was going to offer much more. Kinda weird to see so many MMO features not being in ESO,Such as in game events making the world alive and so on.

Oh we need more, natural-looking hair color options for sure. I was pissed when I couldn't give my Altmer black hair, like I have in EVERY other ES game.

I'm tempted to say no neon hair colors, because this isn't SWTOR. But some dark green, blue and red tints would be nice since it's more than possible with dyes like woad.

If you weren't aware, this system has been requested since closed beta. Everything will come in time, and likely a lot of things are being worked on that they flat-out aren't telling us about.

As for Player Housing? Paul Sage himself said last year I believe at the Guild Summit, that we wouldn't likely be seeing that until somewhere around the 2nd anniversary of launch.

Yea... that would be the lazy way to do this.

You say lazy, I say efficient. Don't other think something that's simple to implement.

You do have a point. It would be faster and simpler, but I would personally prefer a robust fully featured system than a half-hearted effort just to get features in the game. But that's just me.

Wonderful! A system that was never included in Skyrim, and only implemented because players created it (mods), is more important and will be implemented in this iteration of the Elder Scrolls franchise, over a system that WAS included in Skyrim (via an official DLC release).

So I feel like I should go ahead and consolidate/summarize my view of what this should look like. It's actually not a whole lot different from what the OP had in mind, but I'm not sure the big picture is getting across properly. Also I've thought of a couple other things that need addressed.

    Barber Shop:
Set up in major cities of each faction. You walk in and talk to an NPC or sit in a chair and you get a screen that lets you change your hair, adornments and head markings (which contains scars, war paint, etc.) AND BODY MARKINGS. The reason body markings are included is that they have a significant impact on the face of the beast races. I don't know if this is true for the men and mer, but it's quite dramatic for the beast races. Prices could be set up as something like a full 5000 gold for everything or split between each option so you'd have for example:
    • 1000 gold - Hair Style and Color
    • 1500 gold - Adornment
    • 2000 gold - Head Markings
    • 3000 gold - Body Markings

The crown store can be used to unlock new styles or color options and adornments/markings that were not previously available. A handful could be used as achievement awards as well, though most would be crown store items.
    • 200 crowns - New Hair Style
    • 200 crowns - New Adornments
    • 300 crowns - New Head Markings
    • 500 crowns - New Body Markings
    • 500 crowns - Barber Shop Token

The token allows you to change whatever you want at the barber shop at no gold charge. And you should be allowed to preview as much as you like, only being charged either the token or gold when you confirm the changes.

    Body Alteration (ie. Face Sculptor)
Body re-customization would work in a similar fashion. You'd have a face sculptor NPC you go to and they open the customization panel where you can preview all your changes and only get charged for them when you commit. Prices could, again, be set up as either a full gold fee for access to everything, like say 50k to make as many or as few changes as you like, or be split among all the options. So in the end you have a pricing scheme that looks like this:
    • 2000 gold - per Slider XOR 50k gold - as many or as few changes as desired
    • 1000 crowns - Face Sculptor Token

The token works the same as the barber shop version. You can use it instead of gold to pay for that session with the sculptor.

*all prices are obviously examples only and intended for illustrative purposes.

I love the ideas @Glurin. I had actually added a few items to my list which are pretty similar to what you are suggesting:
    • Head/Body Marking change for 5000 Gold
    • 4 Pack Feature Change Token (each token lets you change ONE feature) for 400 Crowns

I can't say I disagree with the idea for 2k gold for slider user or 1k for a face sculptor. I am of the thought that not everything need be available in game for Gold, but I understand the desire. It's just a difference in philosophy.

    Thanks for outlining your ideas!

Your notation "only being charged either the token or gold when you confirm the changes." is a really good point to make.

I do want to really stress just how much of an impact body markings have on the beast races and why they should be added to the barber shop for that reason. If anyone has even the slightest doubt on what I'm saying here, open the character creator, choose either Argonian or better yet Khajiit and see for yourself. The difference it can make on those races is staggering.

    gonna suggest a change

400 Crowns - New Hair Styles (Each purchase includes the ability to change Hair Style for one day, including Hair color)

400 Crowns - New Adornments (Beard & Jewelry, each purchase includes the ability to change Adornments for one day, including Hair Color)
600 Crowns - New Body Markings (Each purchase includes the ability to change Body Markings for one day)
600 Crowns - New Head Markings (Each purchase includes the ability to change Head Markings for one day)
400 Crowns - 4 Pack Feature Change: 4 pack (Each purchase give the player 4 tokens. Each token allows the player to change one feature for one day)
1000 Crowns - Character Alteration Token (Allows players to re-enter the Body & Face portions of the Character Creation system for one day. It includes the ability to change hairstyle, adornment, hair color, body markings and head markings.)

Why for one day? because sometimes you need to get in world before you find stuff that you feel you could do better so being able to enter character customization all you want for 1 day would be a lot more useful than a 1 time thing

ofcourse you'd keep the changes after that 1 day.

This is a feature I love about Black Desert and loved about Perfect World

I would love the option to change races (ONLY Looks, not the passives!). So i could actualy play an altmer with red hair again :D

why not get the passives too? I see no reason to leave it out.

or something I'd prefer, remove racial passives from the game.

I don't especially care how they implement it but what I DO care about is that once I have purchased a hair style or an adornment I don't want the original one to no longer be available. I want to be able to swap around the hairstyles from character generation AND any new ones that are brought in afterwards. Same with adornments and makeup. And I want it all in a collections tab, not taking up space in my regular inventory. Two prices, one lower price if you are buying for a single character's use, and a second, higher price to unlock it account wide.

My thoughts on the matter are still that we should have a barbershop for "everyday" changes (hairstyle, adornments, makeup, etc.) for a small gold cost (say, 50-300 gold, how much can a haircut really cost compared to armor repairs and soul gems and so on?), and have the opportunity to gain additional style choices to use in there through both archievements (say, earn a new body marking option much like a new dye, there are a great many achievements which as of yet have no gain attached to them, which could get one) and crown store (for special stuff like "sai sahan style epic beard")

And then there should be a character re-customization option, either completely out of character from the loading screen, or in-game with a "plastic transmutation wizard", where you get to revisit the chargen screen, and play around with any option. At a low-but-adding-up crown cost per slider moved from the current position (so those who just want to change a small detail don't have to pay "full price", thus being more likely to spend the crowns and be happy with their adjusted character, instead of maybe feeling vexed that the one tiny change they want is locked behind a high price), to be paid once you click the "finalize" button (with the usual "reset to current state" option for sliders and cost, so you can play around again and again until you are satisfied).
With the possibility of more change options added for higher costs then moving a slider. Race change? Can fit in there, for a hefty price. Gender change? Ditto. Class change... well, that one is iffy, though if they ever do it... this is where it might fit.
(Name change I'd rather have a clerk in your fractions capital to talk to, slip some crowns and have them change your official records, though of course a rename could also fit in the "recustomization screen")

And adding to that thought... it might be possible for them to add more unlockable options for character recustomization thenexisted in the initial chargen. Any you have unlocked from your barbershop should of course be available in recustomization as well (the cost for moving "barbershop" sliders should not be added in crowns if people play with those in recustomization), but... there might be other options for structural changes. I could see an "titanborn" unlock sold in the crown store giving your character extra tallness beyond the current slider limit... other options would be possible as well, for more character customization (and more income to keep the game alive and finance new content all the sooner).

The thing is, things like gender or race (especially race) have much more direct impact than looks and therefore should be completely locked behind a pay wall if done at all. Body shape on the other hand, is cosmetic, but an extremely important cosmetic. It's something you'll be spending hundreds of hours with and is pretty much staring you in the face the entire time you're logged in.

It in many ways defines your character, who in many ways represents you.

That's why the ability to customize it needs to be as accessible as possible. It's not something as temporary as a mount or as superficial as a costume. It's their character. Their avatar. People will enjoy their character and the game as a whole much, much more if they are able to tweak it to be exactly the way they want it without having to empty their wallet to do it.

The crown store is supposed to be about convenience and unimportant cosmetic gimmicks. Not locking things behind pay walls. Mention pay to win on the forums and you'll see just about everyone is against it. So why make something as crucially important as the defining aspects of your character pay to win? Having a "gold or crown token" payment system fulfills the convenience role without locking people out of it and has the added bonus of providing a hefty gold sink.

People will still pay for the convenience, and they'll be happy, plus everyone else will be happy because it is just a convenience and they can still get the changes they need by other means. If it's locked behind the crown store, the only people happy about it will be the ones with high credit card limits.

Another thought on the crown token + gold system for body adjustments. It provides incentive to keep the cost of the token low, which in turn gets more people to buy it which translates to more income.

Present people with a choice of say, 50k gold (I use that figure just because it's about the price for the rarer motifs in guild stores) or $5 worth of crowns. There's a whole lot of people willing to pay the $5 just for the convenience while still providing an out for those that aren't or can't.

Everything that currently exists in the game via character creation should be accessible and charged similarly as skill respecs, it's high enough you wouldn't do it over and over but not so expensive you hyper ventilate worrying you might get a change wrong.

New items such as hairstyle packs I would not be against having them in the crown store but not as expensive as the new costumes and mounts. Each pack should contain a number of hairstyles with some male/female specifics as well as unisex options. The same goes for tats and other body mods, sold in packs with multiple options. Additionally it would be nice if when each pack released they released a "free" hairstyle for both male and female that fit with the theme of the pack. These options would require a visit to a barber to change to and would give players who absolutely refuse to pay crowns to keep their characters "fresh".

These purchased hairstyles could also then be part of your collections tab and changed at will without requiring a visit to the barber. Part of the appeal for buying crown hair styles is so that you can bypass the gold sink if you so choose.
