Yes. As with any standard multiplayer game on these platforms, an internet connection and an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership will be required to play"
"As with any standard multiplayer game on these platforms" ESO is a multiplayer game. To be able to use the servers on console, you have to subscribe to their respective service.
I read this and understand. This is not needed to play online. They just want you to think that it is neededSo you was kinda brainwashed. Which is Ok.
Ok, so if you already have this free online access, why even make this thread?

Read it from the beginning. Perhaps it will help.

This is what I probably end up doingReading all this console *** making Guinness looking better and better with each post I read
If you use a console online you are connecting through their network. You pay for that service. End of story.
Aside from that, if you don't plan on playing any other games on a PS4, and you don't plan on using the PSN for anything, then why would you even consider dropping the $500 or so it costs to buy the console just to play ESO on it, when obviously you're already playing it fine on PC? It makes no sense, and this entire thread makes no sense.

Just a thought - perhaps it will have better graphics. Which might not be the case, but we don't know that now... But as far sa I can tell - I would really stick with PC for now or until they will drop this stupid requirement.

Drop $500 on some pc upgrades. You will be happier in the long run.
They won't drop that requirement. Ever. They can't. It's Sony's playpen, and if ZOS wants to operate in it, they follow Sony's rules. Sony's rules mean that the PS4 connects for ANY online game through their servers, so if you want to play any PS4 game online you have to pay for their online service. Period. End of story. No "drop this stupid requirement".If you use a console online you are connecting through their network. You pay for that service. End of story.

Nobody actually asked you to respond in first place
It is needed to play the game on console. You play ESO for fun; pay for the expenses required. This is for nothing. It is not needed to play the game. You gave it to PS just for fun.
James, again - I don't need any service. I just need internet connection to the ESO servers to play. Where is the sony service here? Nowhere.

Hmm that link doesnt really say why PS+ is required for online gaming. Just shows a bunch of free games you get.
