The problem is - I am not playing other games and would probably buy PS4 just for this game. But it is a NO if I have to pay $50-60/year for nothing. If you are already paying - it is not a problem for you.

That's a really nice way of looking at it!

Yep, I'll pay monthly fee for ESO+ because it is kind of charity in favour of ESO, but I will not pay strange amount to Sony/MS for services I am not using...

Playing online on a console is using that service.

No. I can play on PS3 without even touching this *** service. So it is not. They just want you to think that it is .
Hey, cuyler, what service I exactly using? I bought PS4 and I am paying for my internet. I don't give a *** for all other stuff sony or MS is putting in this service. I just need to play on ESO servers. So I am paying this money for nothing. They get it just because there are two vendors of the consoles now. Period.
AND?
James, again - I don't need any service. I just need internet connection to the ESO servers to play. Where is the sony service here? Nowhere.
AND?
You read this, but it's obvious you don't understand it.

Yes. As with any standard multiplayer game on these platforms, an internet connection and an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership will be required to play"
"As with any standard multiplayer game on these platforms" ESO is a multiplayer game. To be able to use the servers on console, you have to subscribe to their respective service.

Here is what you're paying for when using xbl gold or ps plus that this PC game doesn't offer
-voice chat service (which will cost you $5/month on PC alone)
-game certification so that you don't end up playing bugged to the point of not being able to play (UA know like this is from time to time)
-controller support UI
I'd think that these are worth $5/month

So your happy to pay for a new console but not $50-60 a year? Just imagine the console cost another $60 and don't think about the sub
