    Unfortunately you do need them:

Will I need to be an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus member in order to play the console versions?
    Updated 03/17/2015 11:11 AM Published 01/20/2015 08:36 PM

Yes. As with any standard multiplayer game on these platforms, an internet connection and an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership will be required to play

That's sad ... I just googled and there where a lot of articles stating that PS+ is not needed, only Xbox Gold.

So ZeniMax was to lazy to make a deal with Sony and MS, because there are a lot of multiplayer-games on both platforms that don't require a subscription anymore, including MMOs :(

No big deal for me, since we always had and have PS+ subscriptions, but sad to see that ZeniMax is still to snooty to work with other companies ...

Yep. This is probably deal breaker for me. I would buy PS4 just for this game, but I don't like to pay $50-60/year.

I think that MS is to blame in this case, not ZoS.

PS+ has nothing to do with MS. Sony just wanted to get own piece of money as MS does and ZOS actually gave up.

Am I the only one worried about the fact that the window to purchase this transfer ends a full month before the game releases on consoles?

Like in I have to commit my cash for a version I know nothing about?

With the polish of the PC client, I am really afraid about the issues that might pop up in the consoles version.

I agree, atm I play on pc, since I dont have a console, so I would have to get the transfer, and a console, but the lack of information about the console version, and the short window..

I border on being an Xbox fanatic, but I'm having a hard time coming up with many multiplayer games on the One that don't require a Gold account. Project Spark, hmm that's all I can think of. There are very few MMO's on the console, Neverwinter and Destiny if you categorize it that way, are all I can think of, both of which require a Gold memberships.

To be honest, for $20, I'm not too worried. It doesn't break the bank, so if I end up not being impressed it's not a big deal. I can understand the reservation, though.

They showed a few snips of it in ESO Live's. As well.. if it doesn't work out.. your PC account is still there. *shrugs* it's $25 (Canadian). Less than if you were to go buy it at the store.

Scroll down in the store page, there was a list of stuff to buy, at the bottom were the console versions for Playstation and Xbox.

Thanks! All I have are the PC/Mac Digital downloads, then the crown packs/ESO membership. I'll contact support now that I know for sure I'm missing the links. :)
This may seem like a silly question, but are you signed into your ESO account when accessing the store? If not, please sign into your account and let us know if the transfer options still aren't appearing.

im not really vworried for the cost of the transfer, more the fact that Im still deciding to get a console or not, and ZOS doing limited time offers, with so little info about the console, thats my concern.

Since we don't own a Xbox One, I can only quote on articles I read in the internet. I don't remember the names, but there where news the last weeks and months for multiplayer-games, that don't require Xbox Live Gold anymore.

For the PS4, there are really a lot of games, including MMOs like Final Fantasy XIV.

Nevertheless, it's a fact that PS+ is not mandatory for MMOs on the PS4. It is just a decision of ZeniMax ...

got the mail, but with the total lack of information about the console version its really hard to know if I want to transfer, and since its a 30 day offer.. I sure hope we get some new info regarding the console versions, how things will work, improved ui, future addon support, will the integrate features from certain addons etc, since the stock ui sucks, and as far as I know we dont have any of that info yet, just "more info closer to launch".

In a Reddit AmA they did, they did note that addons would NOT be supported on console, although features from quite a few addons would actually be added into the game. The only one we know for sure is LootDrop. They have also showcased the UI on ESO Live and I believe there may be a blog article on the website with some screenshots.

Hey there @pecheckler and everyone else,

Thanks so much for the feedback on this. We'll be happy to help clarify as much as we possibly can!

The article that you have linked contains most of the information that we have for controller support. We are currently internally testing the console UI and controller layouts on the PC, but we do not expect that official controller support will be added until after the console versions have released on June 9th.

Yeah, I don't own a console at this point and I'm still torn on which one would be better for me. I'm very curious which console community will be larger for ESO and I could be swayed either way.

I think it is a cartel agreement between sony and MS. Will see. I think they might not see that many subscribers on PS4/Xbox with this *** attached, and will drop it in a future. In this case I'll reconsider it...

I disagree with the notion that the gold and PS+ requirements will affect subscribers. I don't think it will deter too many dedicated console gamers as they likely already have memberships to these services.
