Try buying a new PC or getting a new ISP I get no lag and I am on cable.

With your logic you could get a job at Zenimax Online Studio. Genius!

On a lighter note, surely with so much input latency across the game there is someone at Zos who knows what's going on?! The response time for the server to register input and then again for the server to respond is measurable just by looking at it. We're not just talking a couple of hundred millisecond ping. It's up to and around a full second or more! Some feedback please Zos!

For those of you running into lag outside of Cyrodiil, can you let us know exactly where you're seeing it? Is it a specific town, dungeon, etc.?

ZOS you know full well where the lag is. It's all over PvE but to give you a specific place Banished Cells Final Boss was lagged so bad last night it was impossible to defeat it. And we are talking about four players taking on 1 boss and the adds that accompanied it. It was not Cyrodiil where hundreds of players are involved at the same time. You need to quit the Dev dodge of Where is it happening and fix the problem you created with 1.6.

I didn't really experience any lag.. Played till 1 AM GMT+1 on EU, than switched for another hour and a half to NA, barely any lag...
Only lag sometimes when using Execute NB skill, but that's really it. On EU I played in Grahtwood and in NA Alik'r Desert :)

greenshade, vr na, everywhere and the npcs are acting insane. I was fighting an an archer who thought it was smart to run outside the house, run behind the house and fire his bow at me. Upon realizing he couldnt hit me he came back inside followed me upstairs where he was promptly wrecking blowed to death. During this time i either had to give chase or wait for him to come to me as everything else considered me in battle. Painful.

More and more npcs get lost into walls. When I press the 4 key, to use mighty mighty wrecking blow, I get a 'can't logout while in combat'.

and to the gimokes saying upgrade computer. thats utter bs this isnt the first time a patch has utterly messed up the the world and judging by qa it wont be the last. I was running fine as fiddle prior to 1.6. Even the crit charge into eternity stopped (when a skilllocks you up) well thats all back. All in all this is very frustrating, its been a year to show improvements on playability, and where are they? skill lockups, misfires, freezes, npcs rubberbanding, players rubberbanding, the utter joke of cyrodil is back to being all present.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno

It's everywhere. In dungeons, towns and open world.

Probably the most interesting thing is that at one point I was forced into a repair after I crashed and I frequently encounter a message regarding the launcher being unable to determine what version it is. Perhaps a few files on your end have been corrupted before they went live? I know that's what causes automatic repairs at times, though usually it's due to a faulty download and not a bad file being sent.

Ever since launch ESO has been plagued by performance issues, wether it's massive fps drops around groups of players or crippling lag. Fact that these issues are still here after year, just shows the challenge this game was always going to bring. The promise of hundreds of players fighting each other in one epic battle, a world bigger than all other ES games previously made.
I know I'll be here until the end and I have faith that eventually, this game will be what it set out to be. But on the other hand, there's the part of me that thinks this project was to ambitious and they have bitten off more than they can chew.

    The lag is:
    1. On EU servers mostly
    2. Affecting WHOLE PARTY THE SAME WAY
    3. Its server side
    4. During peak hours.
    5. Did you read the other posts here? Tons of others are reporting the same.

With Zenimax not willing to adress and solve real issues, there is no "right time" for B2P or the console launch.

From what I gather it is the daily gold pledge that has problems.

I guess it is because ZOS has a server for every dungeon - ZOS can you confirm? I did not see the same problem running silver, since it is not as popular as gold.

    Gina,

Thank you for asking but it really is hard to be precise because it's so wide spread. When 1.6 hit and many people returned, the server strain was evident. More random loading screens which never ended, more disconnects, ability lag execution began to be evident which are all symptoms of server load.

I can tell you I've experienced mobs in instances just freezing for more than two minutes while my group and I ran around not being able to engage them in combat. After a few minutes they started to catch up and become active again chasing us across half the instance.

In many cities, there are outside curbs, walls, and other pieces of architecture which just doesn't load in any kind of reasonable time.

This was ESO's chance to make a second impression and many people returning are seeing again some of the server issues from launch with the server under stress and to them it appears there has been little done to improve performance.

It doesn't take more than playing the game at peak time to experience these in just about every zone.

This is pretty much my experience at the moment. It's hard to be more accurate in describing the lag problem when it's everywhere. The game client is now much more prone to crashing now too.

Just moving around and trying to fight is impossible right now. I was in Shadowfen trying to fight in just the wild is seeing big delays between action and effect is getting me killed over and over. In Atanaz Ruins I would click on an attack and 1-2 seconds would pass with no action on screen just froze. Unable to even finish it.

So everywhere all the time seems to say it all.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Me and my group had to abandon [EU] vet Darkshade Caverns last time it was gold pledge (Friday I think).
It was clearly the instance that was lagging. All in the group, spread out over Europe, had the same experience. The mobs glitches around all over the place, and attacks and abilities did no real damage. Telegraphs and synergies appeared randomly. Even the mobs were affected and did little damage. The entires party tried relogging, to no effect. We fought our way to Grobull mostly spamming AoEs and tab targeting. We then tried to kill Grobull for 20 minutes straight, with neither party taking or doing much damage. Grobull himself were mostly invisible. His adds and "lag ghosts" adds were all over the place and couldn't be targeted but didn't do much damage either.
We abandoned and did the silver pledge (Fungal I think) with no noticeable lag.

Yesterday I did the vet Banished Cells pledge and could finish but the entire group experienced similar synchronous instance glitching/lag but this time intermittently and only of short duration.

I'm experiencing frequent game crashes, lag after almost every action taken in the game, never ending loading screens. The worst is, almost every single time I initiate a fight, the moment I enter combat, the game freezes and I'm left wondering if I'll live through the lag. If it's a long enough fight, then I'll often have to try to live through 2 of these lag spikes. I've pretty much given up trying to do any difficult or group content, until this is fixed.

The lag is everywhere, in towns, out in the wilds, in dungeons, in delves, at dolmens. Everyone in Stonefalls seems to be experiencing it. It is worse now than I have ever seen it. Now the open PVE world is having the same lag as Cyrodiil. Even without any other players nearby.
Abilities firing off 10/20 seconds or longer after button press, NPCs all over the place. Being killed without even knowing what killed me. Half the time I cant even dismount from my horse. Game pretty much unplayable. It is in a worse state now than at launch.
ZOS please try and get some people actually in game and see for yourselves, and then try and get it fixed. As in right away, not next week. New players unable to play because of lag. Any other game this would be seen as a very urgent problem to be fixed immediately, yet here we have one mod appear asking where the lag is. Quite sad really.

I tried to play last night, I gave up in about half an hour.

Templar abilities would "stick on". The animation of my spear would just stay visible, but I could do no other actions. I could use my potions to keep me up until ,after about 10-15 seconds later when the ability would reset.

My latency, as reported in game, for the most part, has gone up two to three times in number. 120 Avg. (old) to now where it sits mostly around 220 to 330. And yes, it spikes up even higher.

Zos, do yo guys have a PR dept.? (Public Relations Department)

If you do, could someone knock on their office door and tell them that they have a mess to clean up in "All the isles".

@ZOS_GinaBruno I normally only PvP and it's quit common there. Even with only 6-10 people standing still doing nothing except trying to put up a siege.

But ok, I tried several area's. I am DC player and went to different area's. I had lag just walking throught the different area''s which used to be lagfree pre 1.3 (just as cyrrodil was)

These area's i remember the best with lag where

    - Glenumbra
    - Rivenspire
    - The rift (not all the time)

These had huge lagspikes. No, it was not my router. I resetted it, unplugged it, danced on it. But i know the cause. It was the 1st time everybody experienced lag. It was after the last day we experienced lagfree 500 vs 500 PvP. It was the lighting fix.

Can you guys just don't remove that "fix" just to see if that is the problem? It was not the deer, torchbugs, amount of players. also these fixes did nothing. Latest version 2.0 even made PvP worse. Less platers on screen, more lag then ever.

I love this game for the PvP. But it is dying.

Not doubting the veracity of all the posters here, but I've played close to 20 hours this past weekend (mostly in Stormhaven) and experienced no lag. Did Fungal Grotto pledge with a group and it was very smooth.
The only troublesome thing I experienced was an infinite loading screen at one point when I was trying to log in.

Were your group mates experiencing massive lag?

What I mean is some abilities may sucking up all the resources and work just fine for the one executing it.

I am also wondering if the unexplainable Templar GCD's might be causing all the lag but that is just poking in the dark..

You do realise ZOS have directly contributed to making this far worse than it needs to have been?

Clearly the large number of returning/new players is a factor .. BUT .. ZOS designed it to be worse by adding numerous 'sacrificial' NPCs for the Justice slaughter-fest as well as concentrating those who (for reasons that seem to escape me) enjoy mindless murder into small areas?

Justice is the main reason for this, clearly, EU Daggerfall city was largely unplayable at times with AVERAGE ping times c. 500 since lunchtime.

No. Everyone was quite happy with the dungeon run, and no one complained (except for being killed!). I did play a Templar healer and was doing a lot of spamming of the heal abilities, and never got a slowdown. It was actually a lot of fun!
