More accurate to say many of us hopes it never happens. After all, many of the core game mechanics are built around trading guilds.

More like a regular player. Monitoring each person's trading habits is a bit of a hassle, guilds typically kick people when they don't log in for X days.eventide03b14a_ESO wrote: »I have never had a problem joining a trade guild right in Mournhold. So you have to be a regular seller in order to be able to sell at all?
Thanks, I'll add that to my list of restrictions in the existing system.

I would say gladly no AH.

Tbh, I'm not sure. ITC is my only trading guild and consequently the only one that enforces an inactivity policy. We're currently at 14 days. I've seen the same in a few other guilds, but I don't know if it is typical.More like a regular player. "X" being typically?

Did they ever put an Auction House in the game?
With all the crafting that is core to this game, an AH is a necessity.
Public Guild Stores are NOT the answer.

When I returned yesterday I was all alone in 5 trading guilds, so I quit them all and joined a new one, I wanted to buy some iron ore, but my new 300 member trade guild didn't have any iron ore for sale, so no iron for me. It's a very typical scenario I remember from last year too.
I like to craft normal gear at various levels, last year I remeber it was really hard to take any profit, I would have to charge 2500 gold per item to really profit on the materials when selling a blue item, and those sold really poorly.
It was mostly enchantments I sold to other enchanters that made any sales.
I don't plan to level up much this time, and I'll just stay at around lvl 15-20 and mess around untill I'm tired of the game, one plan is to try and sell some gear at around the starting dungeon levels.

I'm so tired of prooving why AH will kill all economic in game. Tired of providing links to ZOS's posts. It's even not funny anymore, it's rather sad. Sad that people think that no need to check previous discussion. Sad that they are too lazy and too unwise to keep this place constructive and civilian. Sad that most people don't use search tool and asking the same questions over and over and over and over and over again. This topic it totally useless.
I think you mean "sad that they hold a different opinion to you".
The OP is right. The guild store system does not provide an effective means of public trading, and its retention is only sought by those who belong to the guilds that corner the market in kiosks. Well, the rest of us would quite like to be able to sell stuff too, and have a lot less hassle finding the other stuff that we want to buy. Whether it's an AH or some other form of public trading, there needs to be a better system than the one we have currently. That's why it's an issue that comes up so frequently.

If you want to find a rare item, you have to put some effort instead of opening a window, scrolling to about 20 such 'rare' items and selecting the cheapest.
It promotes arbitrage and bargains. Sellers can corner their part of the market, buying cheap and selling higher, without having to compete with every other seller on the server. Buyers can find really cheap items, that would have been scooped up at once in an auction house system.
The possible improvements I can think of are: A couple more guild slots; More sorting options in the shop screen; Customizable store fronts.

I don't see anything in any of those links to give evidence that auction houses ruin economies. What I do see is a bunch of people that want to corner markets without competition arguing against having them. Letting supply and demand do what it does naturally is a good thing. Artificially inducing inflated prices by limiting market access is a bad thing.

There are now 142 Guild traders in Tamriel (126 from before + 16 new ones in Outlaw Refuges). I don't see how anyone can "corner the market" in that set up.
The other element that I think many don't account for, is that the Guild system is a Gold sink for ZoS. Bids for Guild Trader Outposts are in 7 figures on a weekly basis (for certain areas). In TamrielsTraders we bid in 6 figures for ours and lost him this week(and on a side note, we are happy for people to come join the guild - we are pretty chilled and more about the community
- see my Sig for link...)
I won't go into the whole why an AH should or should not be implemented as I've been there, done that, but the only reason anyone has for wanting an AH is that "they can not be bothered to travel around looking and want everything immediately at their finger tips without having to do anything".
People scream and shout about Lore, but I don;t remember there ever being an Amazon in Tamriel?

What's the point then, of segregating the markets? If "so many guild traders" are readily available, then just centralize it and call it a day.

Why keep asking the same bloody question? You've heard why centralising is a bad idea. It breaks the economy.
People undercut one another until there's absolutely nothing left, crafters are unable to make their money back, regular players are unable to make decent gold and STILL the best items get jacked up in price - leaving an entire population with little gold and no way to afford to buy the best stuff.
