Auction House ?

I keep getting emails wanting me to come back.

Did they ever put an Auction House in the game?

With all the crafting that is core to this game, an AH is a necessity.
Public Guild Stores are NOT the answer.

If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

There is no Auction House in ESO, we still use the Guild Store system. There are also trade guilds to buy/sell your items that way.

Still no auction house, still a useless system in place that makes buying and selling more of a hassle than its worth.

But other than that, the game is pretty awesome :)

    What a shame.

ESO could be a great game.

I enjoyed it a lot but at a certain stage an AH become a necessity as far as I'm concerned.

I will NOT return until they have an Auction House.

    Now I'm playing Dying Light.

Definitely no AH needed there :)

Still no auction house. Still a more involved economy that requires thought, planning and socialising, and for many of us, that's one of the reasons we love the game :)

I don't think anyone can say "it will never happen" about anything in this game anymore. Every time someone says that, ZOS eventually proves them wrong.

Let's just stick with "probably highly unlikely"... :)

More accurate to say many of us hopes it never happens. After all, many of the core game mechanics are built around trading guilds.

No AH, Guild stores ARE the answer cause that's what they gave you. Obviously not a necessity as it doesn't exist and if it was NEEDED then it would exist, see how that works.

I don't understand why players have a hard time going to a kiosk and finding what they need? Rawl'kha alone probably has 99% of the stuff and the rest is well, just hard to get anyway but still not any harder if there was an AH. Maybe someone can explain...

eh... it is not about needing items. People wan't to SELL items, not buy them. Having only handful of customers is a pain in the ass for people who wan't to take other players money.

Ummm... All the people traveling through and buying from the major hubs are more than just a 'handful'. It's easily as much as I've seen at many AHs in other games.

If you've only previously played games with some type of auction house or other automated server/game wide trading system the absence is probably quite jarring.

For example in GW2 I'm used to being able to open up the Trading Post from anywhere in the world, check whether there's demand for any of my items and what the going rate is and sell them instantly. Equally if I need to buy a particular item, or even something like 250 of a particular crafting material, I can just open up the Trading Post, check the prices and buy as many as I want (or can afford) right away.

By contrast trawling through different guild traders hoping you'll come across someone selling the item/s you want, and needing to somehow know what the going rate is to compare it to what that person is asking, seems like a lot of effort.

I can see the benefits of the system too (like the possibility of coming across a real bargin, that almost never happens with a game-wide trading system) and I'm willing to give myself more time to adjust to it. But it does feel a bit like a throw-back to ye olde days of Ultima Online when everyone stood around the bank hoping desperately to come across someone selling what they wanted to buy.

Ever since the guild vendors were implemented, it's pretty easy earning gold through the guild stores.

Also, since the Justice system has come out, it's even easier just building my gold purse.

Shrug. We don't need an Auction House for ESO to be great. It is that without it. The Guilds now have storefronts they can sell from in addition to the guild store system through the banking merchant. I find the system agreeable.

That's part of the problem. ESO's guild store is so simplistic its ridiculously awful to use without addons.

I'm so tired of prooving why AH will kill all economic in game. Tired of providing links to ZOS's posts. It's even not funny anymore, it's rather sad. Sad that people think that no need to check previous discussion. Sad that they are too lazy and too unwise to keep this place constructive and civilian. Sad that most people don't use search tool and asking the same questions over and over and over and over and over again. This topic it totally useless.

@Arizona_Willie I'm just going to point out that the game is now sub free so if you already bought it you might as well patch it, log in and join a trading guild. Try it out and see if it's as bad as you think. You might be surprised. There are some wonderful addons like Master Merchant, that make up for some of the lacking features. You have nothing to lose except some of your time.

I think you mean "sad that they hold a different opinion to you".

The OP is right. The guild store system does not provide an effective means of public trading, and its retention is only sought by those who belong to the guilds that corner the market in kiosks. Well, the rest of us would quite like to be able to sell stuff too, and have a lot less hassle finding the other stuff that we want to buy. Whether it's an AH or some other form of public trading, there needs to be a better system than the one we have currently. That's why it's an issue that comes up so frequently.

This trading system is probably the most awful I've seen; having a "healthy economy" cartelizing the market, forcing people into trading guilds, fake guilds.

Even Tibia (mmorpg since 1997) abandoned the chat spam direct/cod trading and has an Auction House; but not ESO, we are "special"... and sheeps like it.
