Crystal Fragments cast time

    frags are maybe doing 14k with high spell power and when they crit, the normal non-crit ones don't hit that hard and most of us don't stack so much spell power to get the damage so high.

    And it's not that WE are asking for that. ZOS decided to reduce the cast time and we would be happy to have that. unfortunately this is not the case and the cast time actually increased. Since this is our main damage dealer, i think it's only fair to have a cast time that makes hard casting these things a little more viable.

    ^^what does this have to do with the tool tip being incorrect if it states its a 1 second cast and it is not a 1 second cast?

    I think we want something close to the cast time listed in the tool tip and patch notes.

    CF has been broken for a long time. When they changed the cast timer to 1.3s instead of 1.6s the only change they did was modify the tooltip to show a different time. When it became 1s, it was still 1.6s. Several other abilities have the same issue (Uppercut for example). Also the insta cast isn't instant. The spell casts instantly but you're locked in casting for the entire duration. It's always been this way.

    Yep, it's a very strong move and only moreso with the already-reduced cast time now, topped off with that delightful cherry on top of 20% higher damage when it procs the instant cast :D. I'm having no issues at all weaving in a light attack or crushing shock about 1 second after I start casting the crystal fragments spell. Yeah, the animation is long if you just wait it out, just like with most other abilities. But you don't have to.

    I did some timed tests and its 1.3-1.5 seconds on average for each cast. I'm testing the initial cast only and i did it on about10 different targets.

    If you cast repeatedly, it really is only 1 second! The "long" cast you guys are experiencing is only for the FIRST cast... Wrecking Blow is the same way.

    What ZoS needs to do, though is make every cast only 1 second, including the first one.

    Yeah, but that doesn't make it any better. And it's always been that way that repeated casts were faster. Cast time should match what the patch notes and the tooltip say.

    The issue becomes, should animation clipping be needed in order to get the time described in the tooltip?

    It's only good for an opener. It takes much too long for any use after that.

    I can't tell if this is a serious post or not. We're complaining about the current cast time being inaccurate, not asking for a lower cast time.

    Yes guys the cast times are way, way off from what they are saying, 3 sec. cast on regular skill and 1 sec. instant here...

    I just finished repeating the frame rate experiment and got between 1.9 and 2.1 seconds. The extra .2 second is that in my animation my hands got to the cast position slightly before the orbs appear. The travel time however made it much longer, with being unable to cast for up to an extra 2 seconds. It's like having one of the worst cool downs in game.

    Regardless, when timed with other skills with cast times (tested pets and wrecking blow so far), their relative cast times were no where near the 2x ratio of shards. Funny enough, wrecking blow was actually less than its cast time for second cast in a row (or seemed less), because the damage number proc would come before the end of the first animation (no travel time to put distance between casts overlapping).

    This hurts sorcs for two reasons:

    -CF is already the game's most reflected skill
    -With travel time, it is much lower dps than stamina

    it is not strong at all.
    I really believe this fix is, what a sorc needs. Then everyone will be happy.
    Do it plz to be 1sec cast and not 1.8 as it is.

    Hmm... yeah, faster would be nice. It's way too easy to dodge or block.

    I also wish it wouldn't be reflectable, but it's a projectile so no chance of changing that :/

    I have not seen a 1 second casted CF in my entire time of being a sorc, ever.

    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

    Since Update 6 that sounds very possible, but I suppose in a way that is a topic for another thread. Not sure what else it could unless the points of measurement used in internal testing is different than player measurements or something didn't translate/update properly in the patch downloaded by players.

    i can confirm it is longer then 1 second, my friends and i tested it and it is 2.2 seconds for me and 2.6 seconds for them.

    shooting star frag crushing shock lt in rapid succesion has a very nice thud when it lands. i'd put a helmet on and reflect up first.
