Enlightenment working for ANYONE?

@ZOS_GinaBruno I received enlightenment last night at around 9pm GMT. Before enlightenment quests and waves in reg DSA were giving me about 20k exp. With enlightenment they were still giving me about 20k exp.
Before enlightenment a mob was giving me 124exp. With enlightenment the same mob was giving me 496exp.
I believe enlightenment is not working on quests and DSA waves and probably anything else that gives exp in the same way.
    Is this intended?

Are you guys logging into non-VR alts at all? You might be resetting a timer or something.

Does not matter according to the Help Info: "Everyone receives the same amount of Enlightenment for a 24-hour period. Think of it as a clock; when it strikes 12:00PM, everyone has Enlightenment added."

Thus I should have double enlightenment Right Now, but nothing still. ZOS must hate hardcore players... One day they will realize we are their backbone and give them the most: our lives. (LoL)
Don't feel bad. I'm a casual player and have no enlightenment so if they're haters they are equal opportunity haters.

You are right, whether one logs in/ out on non vet alts should make absolutely no difference to the enlightenment timer. But even if it bugged and it did, that still does not explain how I can gain enlightenment one minute and lose it the next simply by traveling via wayshrine.

reminds me of when vampire hunger cost reductions and passive buffs would stop working upon zoning...

Enlightenment only builds up during times that you are not playing a 50+ character. So if you weren't logged out or playing on a sub 50 character for very long, it's possible that you only built a very small % of enlightenment and used it up right away by discovering a wayshrine, killing a couple mobs, or doing something else that earned you XP.

If you have been playing alot since 1.6 went live, then you probably won't see much enlightenment, and when you do see it, it will likely get used up quickly. The times that you should see a large pool of enlightenment would be after you have been logged out for several hours like sleeping, going to work, etc.

It's designed to help people that can't play all day keep up with those that can. It's very similar to "rest XP" that you get in WoW and other games.

I'm not suggesting that it isn't bugged. I don't know if it is or isn't yet. I just want to make sure people understand how it works.

If that is true then they run into the old problem with this game: The complete lack of repeatable soloable content for max level characters.

There really isn't ANY content for V14 to solo outside pvp. And now with the champion system that oversight and lack of vision will hurt the game tremendously.

I logged in with my vet toons on Tuesday afternoon, played around with skill points and engaged in some criminal activities for about 4 hours, then logged out.
24 hours later, I logged in to zero enlightenment. Played for an hour and logged out.
Logged in this morning...15 hours or so later...and still no enlightenment.

I am clearly not allowed to play with the cool kids.

Buying it yes, exhausting it, no. They want to release DLC that is as shallow as possible (i.e. takes less time/money to develop) that will people will buy and be entertained by the longest. The hardcore will blow through and demand more almost immediately. The B2P model relies on exploiting customer churn, getting new players in and getting them to buy DLC/extras while minimizing the amount of new development being produced.

That is certainly an issue. There is definitely a smaller list of ways to gain CP for a V14 character that has already completed most quests and map objectives. Finding repeatable things to do is your only option other than creating a new character or grinding. There are repeatable daily PvE quests in Curodiil. Lots of them. Just about every town or village has one or two. So just to use them as an example, here is how the scenario would work:

Joe played all day long doing this or that. Joe doesn't have any enlightenment because he played all day. Joe logs out for the night, gets some sleep, and goes to work the next day. When joe gets home from work and logs in, he is now enlightened. He will be able to earn XP/CP at a higher rate until that enlightenment pool is used up. The longer joe was logged off, the larger the enlightenment pool.

Now Joe goes to Cyrodiil and does a bunch of the PvE daily quests getting enlightenment bonus XP/CP for the first few quests he does until the enlightenment pool is used up. Then it won't start charging again until he logs out.

This scenario works with any quests or objectives that award XP, I was only using Cyrodiil dailies as an example because they are repeatable.

There should definitely be some single player repeatable PvE quests outside of Cyrodiil just for this reason though.

And again, not saying it isn't bugged, just explaining how it's supposed to work.

Oh I understand how it is supposed to work according to what we've been told about it but it is not working for me.

I waited the 24 hours after first 1.6 log in like Gina said earlier before expecting any enlightenment to show up. I don't get to play much and most of the time I've been in game since 1.6 was spent shuffling inventory on my non vet characters and reallocating points on everyone.

I was not expecting to log in on a veteran character after the 24 hour period had passed, finally see my enlightenment display on the screen, and then see it disappear before I even earned one single point of XP.

Really? I still don't have enlightenment, and it's been significantly more time than 24 hours. Will be 48 later today.

Then again you might want to see that some people already in the 80's to 90ish in CP because they got enlightenment early and never lost it.

I became enlightened today while grinding exp and never actually earned any champion points. It kept saying on my screen you gained a champion point, but when I went to check they weren't there. Eventually I relogged and my exp had all reset.

I never had it either. Only noticed it briefly when logging my alt, but it disappeared instantly after I had to relogg.

Yet I have guild-mates being enlighten non-stop since 1.6.5 came out. They're currently racking up loads of CP from a buff that's clearly bugged. So yes, this is really bad.

I'm aware of the cap, I assumed it was measured in CPs (actually XP) not days. For example the cap is 4 CPs worth of XP. In other words if you're at the cap (i.e. 4 CPs worth of XP) then you would exhaust your enlightenment after gaining 4 CPs, then continue at the regular pace.

I wonder is it possible that because I logged into all my alts to improve my riding skills did I lose my enlightenment, whereas my healer didn't log into their alt and was receiving the correct enlightenment XP?

So it CAN get worse. Some people have perpetual enlightenment and rack up CP by the dozen while others of us go without, between lack of any enlightenment, prematurely losing enlightenment, and gaining CP only to have it yanked away, based on the reports in this thread.

We're off to a great start with this new patch as usual, I see.

Just letting you all know that we're actively looking into this.

Why don't you actively look into how fubar'd you made magicka sorcs while you are at it?

The fact you will have people in the 100's of cp soon and people stuck at 70 because they can't get enlightenment while others got it and it doesn't go away while they grind it out.

That will help with balance for sure.

FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!!! If you have alts log into them ASAP and spend all the CP. This will start the 24 clock.

Might as well delete this vr14 and reroll... it just dropped Enlightenment because my internet dropped for a second and kicked me outta the game. By the time I make it back to VR14 they should have it fixed :)

Definitely not working as it should:

    1. Logged in yesterday morning with my VR2 (just mentioning due to this 24hours wait time)
    2. Logged in today with my VR2 and got the enlightenment message, did not earn any XP and logged out
    3. Switched to a low level twink and spend some time with a friend
    4. Logged back in with the VR2 again and enlightenment was gone

Just talked to some people in zone chat in Deshaan, DC. They have had enlightenment for over 8 hours long and still going. One said he had already gained 8 Champion Points! I quested there for 6 hours and didn't even get one! When I did get enlightenment I went to use it and lost it using the wayshrine.

    Suggestion for ZOS:
    • Reset champion points on all accounts.
    • Give all accounts 10 champion points to compensate for their losses.

Many games have done this in the form of experience. For example, Look at Eve Online: They hand out free experience to all accounts for having the servers down to long. They even do it when there is a "fatal bug" skewing the system horribly.

All I'm saying is make my 12 hours trying to get enlightenment worth me playing the game; since that is the only way to get Champion Points questing.
