I would really like to see this (along with a polearm skill tree as pretty much all swords/axe's/maces were side arms to either missile weapons or spears/halberds/pikes on foot at least in war ) and as for the ppl saying it would do less damage than dual wield, well no least not in RL as u can only effectively hit with one weapon at a time anyho, plus free hand allows for better balance on big hits/thrusts, side on stance give 's a smaller target and easier to dodge/parry this could all be worked into the skill line to give a more evasive play style than sword and board and more single target focused dps than dual/two handed
Makes no sense to me. What are you using the other hand for? Every weapon line requires you to fill both hand-slots; not doing so is inefficient.
One-handed is just half-way between Sword-and-Board and Dual-Wielding, and I see no purpose to it.

This isn't like a super important thing that needs to be done RIGHT NOW or anything, but it would be nice, since there are plenty of mobs who only use a one-handed weapon and no shield.
Keep in mind that this is only whether or not you would want it. If you vote "yes", that does NOT mean you want it done right now, it just means you would like it done sometime in the future.

Elder Scrolls Katanas are almost strictly single handed weapons. Don't like it? Blame the Akaviri... or, you know, Bethesda, since it's really their fault.
First of all, I wish upon you eternal burnings for your foul necromancy.Ethromelb14_ESO wrote: »For people that don't see the importance of incorporating this option... It's for nothing more - at the very least - than having a choice. Other reasons are that some players want to play as characters that are so BA that they don't need a shield because their sword skills are extraordinary. There are characters like Devil May Cry's Vergil that uses a one-handed sword and at times holds it with both hands. So there's the answer to your question. Why can't we hold a one-handed sword with two hands?
I can count to potato.

With that kind of reach, an Altmer would be the LAST person I wanted to spar with.dodgehopper_ESO wrote: »Think Akaviri katana, Kendo, or even Fencing. This is the style that would be nice for this purpose.
Precisely. It is something that exists and works well both in reality, and in game lore. Although when I read the word ''fencing'', the mildly ridiculous image of a pompous male Altmer doing fancy rapier moves while wearing leggins came to mind.
