I'm sure someone will do it, but if you take a moment to think about it... Other senche mounts will be available in the crown store (their icons are already in PTS code). They will cost far less than $150. Unless you really want to feel like a special snowflake riding a rare variety of senche, it's better to just wait.lordrichter wrote: »How many people, out of the total pool of current or potential subscribers, are going to run out and buy up 300 days of subscription for the sole purpose of getting a cat mount? That is one expensive cat mount. So, if the days need to be just paid and not also elapsed, does that mean that if someone just signed up today and bought 300 days of game time, he or she would get the Senche Tiger mount? I thought that was meant to be a special reward for those of us who actually remained loyal to the community from the very beginning. You know, "to ensure that we reward players who have been with us from the start", as the announcement says. Suddenly I am not feeling so special anymore.
It's not as of today (just checked) but that doesn't mean it won't be added back in by March 15th. They already said that once it's B2P the 6 month option will be available, they just didn't say whether that would be on the exact day of the change or prior to it. IF they don't put that option back up until March 16th then Players would've had to pay for 7 months total and then buy the 3 mo on March 15th to get the Tiger. In any case, it's not an actual Loyalty Reward since there's such a gap in time allowed, it's a "Thank you for shucking out 10 months worth of Sub fees" in total reward. You cannot because 6 month subs aren't available anymore. You'd need to have set up this sub beforehand so it renews automatically.
Redeeming a bunch of time cards is a possibility as well.
And it is a brilliant way to get people who started the game after release and were on the bubble to continue their subscriptions through a time period (March to post-console release in June) when they've stated there will be no new content released.lordrichter wrote: »So, if the days need to be just paid and not also elapsed, does that mean that if someone just signed up today and bought 300 days of game time, he or she would get the Senche Tiger mount? It does mean that.
How many people, out of the total pool of current or potential subscribers, are going to run out and buy up 300 days of subscription for the sole purpose of getting a cat mount? A mount, I might add, that is the odds-on favorite to be retextured and sold in the Store for $20 or less. 300 days of subscription is currently worth $150. That is one expensive cat mount.
No, what is going to happen is that people who are close to 300 are going to run out and spend money to add time now so that they get it. The people who are going to do this are already "loyal" subscribers in their minds. Nothing has changed except that (1) they get the mount, and (2) they are more likely to stay "loyal".
Hey there everyone,
To clarify, the information that was posted in the Road Ahead article is correct.
- You must have paid for 300 days of game time prior to March 16th in order to qualify for the mount.
- The 300 days of paid time does not need to elapse prior to March 16th.
- This time does not need to be consecutive.
- The 30 days of game time that were included with the initial game purchase do not count towards the mount
- Days compensated by customer support also do not count.

When has it ever been anything else? I'm reminded of the guy who stopped playing a month after launch, but forgot to cancel his subscription (don't ask me how it's possible...) Upon logging in a few weeks ago, he discovered the Ice Wraith and Loyal Dwarven Sphere in his mail. Nothing personal against him, it's just a perfect illustration of what loyalty means.Merlin13KAGL wrote: »But call it a financial loyalty reward, not a loyalty reward.
You know, I was reading this while having my tea and I have to say it made me laugh so hard I couldn't drink it, lol
I said on I forget which of the umpteen threads about this cat thing...that in the end it really just represent nothing more than a marketing tool to appease people upset about the removal of the Loyalty Program while at the same time incentivizing more subscription sales.
Your response pretty much proves that by the bolded line below.
Cool. More money for you to work with and more life for this game we are here for. You are a business after all, right?
Yet... not that I personally give a darn if I get one or not for myself (I have never cared about getting these things for chosing to be here and play), I find it pretty darn sad for all the people here that do really care about this issue.
What the bold means is nothing more and nothing less that as long as people buy 300 days sub time from the company by the March 17th, it doesn't really matter if they have been here the whole time or not.
Good job guys.

But keep in mind if you're already going to keep subbing after it goes no sub, then those days are just purchased prematurely, and you'll still have the time, and the crowns. So technically, the mount is free. But only to those who still played on paying the sub for Tamriel Unlimited.I'm sure someone will do it, but if you take a moment to think about it... I have to say I don't like your tone, pal. Everyone has something that he highly values and I believe you do too. Chances are it might as well be something meaningless to other people. Showing off your insight on ZOS' marketing strategy or laughing at fans' obsession with a sad cat mount does not make you a better man.

I think that this will appease more people than it will tick off, to be honest with you.
Don't get me wrong, the mount is great, but that was not the point. The point was the definition of "loyalty" being too exclusive, and the implication that you were not "loyal enough" if you did not meet that definition. That sat wrong with me and had the potential to cause divisions and other problems.
For example, my bug reports, detailed feedback, PTS time, and the uplifting inspirational commentary I make here in the forum are worth a lot more than a few measly days of subscription.

Thanks so much for the clarification. I just set up recurring sub for another 3 months starting March 9th, which will take me to exactly 300 days
Cancel the sub and buy a time card?I have 270 days (if the 30 days I paid for by purchasing the game doesn't count) If it does count, then I have 300 days. My sub expires March 31,2015. It looks like I'm screwed on this one because my sub expires after March 17. It is set to automatically renew.

You have missed the point entirely. I was laughing at the absurdity of ZoS and this move, dude - not the players. That is why I said it is actually sad because mmany people care about this reward, even if I myself do not. And incidentally, I am not any kind of "man" at all. I am a female.

Are there one year game time cards, or can you buy multiple cards and use them all at once to total one year? Sorry for my ignorance, I wasn't aware of this.

You can buy 60 day cards off Amazon.com. Buy 5 of em. You can redeem as many at a time as you are willing to buy.
Time cards will definitely count, as that's a valid way of paying sub (and how I paid for my first 240 days); considering how they work, buying five and redeeming them all on March 15 would give you the 300 days you need...jamesharv2005ub17_ESO wrote: »jamesharv2005ub17_ESO wrote: »To the people saying you could buy 300 days on march 16th and still get the reward... that isn't even possible.
