    Staff User spell power:
    1144+20%(entropy/surge/etc.)=1372,8

    2h User weapon power:
    1346+8% (Dawnbreaker)+12% (Medium passive)+20% (rally/momentum/)=(1346+107,68+161,52)*1,2=1938

    numbers:

    Wrecking blow 0.149653471*1938+10,56=3062,7

    Crystal Shard 0.149653471*1372,8*10,69=2169,5

    Stamina>magicka in 1,411 better

    Now imagine: let's say both users(stamina and magicka) doing DPS and magicka user done10 000.Then Stamina user will do 14110

    So please do not say such things as :" because spells hit nearly as hard as melee attacks" if they are not confirmed.

    Bro, you really think that things are that clear cut? That's adorable. Melee attacks often have cast times and channels to them, and the only feasible cast time attached range spell in this game is Crystal Shard/Frag, which btw as you pointed out is only a mere 900 point difference. From a distance, a nice safe distance, you can shoot one, knock a guy down, and by the time they get back up either from cc break or the normal animation, another one is already flying down range before the melee guy even has a chance to use one attack.

    Moving on to Crushing Shock, that's a ranged attack that hits as hard/nearly as hard as things like Snipe and instantly (unless I missed it getting a cast time) and interrupts attacks to boot.

    I'm still laughing at how you think melee is so superior to magic.

    As far as melee, historically (in MMO's), these abilities have nearly always hit harder than ranged due to the risk of having to be up close vs far away.

    Couple that with the fact that Stamina has to share it's pool with defensive abilities like Dodge Roll/Block/Bash and CC Break, common sense would dictate these abilities need to hit a bit harder to offset the drain on the pool to achieve the same DPS results that these defensives use up, with the same resource level.

    It really all depends on what numerical value you would assign to these defensives in a typical fight. Obviously some fights are more than others, but generally I agree that having to share the Stamina pool with abilities that magicka users can use free from their main focus, should hit harder.

    Stamina builds have good burst now.
    Magicka builds have good sustain damage and start out Dps'in stam around the 2 min mark.
    Elemental Drain Spell Symmetry Siphon Spirit Destruction Expert
    Due to these skills/passive it allows magicka builds to have an unlimited amount of resources for their disposal.
    On live the problem with stamina builds is that there's no easy way to manage your stamina expect for Cdr enchants with potions. Now that they changed potions in 1.6. Stamina builds now have no good source of stamina regeneration except for melee heavy attacks, doing so drops a huge amount of Dps which is not on par with magicka Dps.

    OP clearly have played only magicka build. I first started with hybrid build and around 1.2 switched to stamina build. In 1.3 decided to go stick&dress and it was like switching from hard mode to easy. In 1.5 switched back to stamina, decided better play weaker build that I like than stronger build I don't like.

    Now 1.6 when stamina builds aren't underdogs and light armor isn't the best armor, some players can't accept that melee attacks are equally dangerous as magicka attacks. Time for adjustment is neede,

    Clearly @Exstazik you are good player but pls use PTS and make stamina build and test it. Or else you just compering apples and oranges right now.

    I weave my heavy attacks in with my skills.

    Basically I look like a ritualistic warrior when I swing my 2H, popping my Biting Jabs and PotL then following through with a vicious streak of Heavy Attack and Wrecking Blow, all woven with each other as to make sure my Stamina lasts, and nine times out of ten I have lasted just as long if not longer than my Magicka Counterparts because of this.

    Sure, I sacrifice a little DPS, but it's literally just a little bit, and in turn I get to live longer and attack longer as well, so in my mind it proves a rather valuable trade off.

    Magicka melee builds and Stamina melee builds do a lot more damage than both Magicka and Stamina ranged builds at the moment, that is the reality and it makes sense. Bow has the same weapon damage as a staff I believe, and either way, it doesn't really matter because comparing the amount of weapon or spell damage isn't the whole picture. I like math and numbers, but the game is not all about math and numbers ;)

    In my tests most builds seem fairly equivalent, melee has the potential to deal quite a bit more DPS (~20-25%) but in most boss fights ends up at roughly +/- 0 because you have to dodge/avoid more mechanics and can't DPS at the same time like range DPS can.

    At the moment there is no ranged Stamina build that even slightly works, so if you compare to that instead you will find that you're very, very lucky to be Magicka in 1.6. If you can't be in melee, Magicka is incredibly superior. Bow is useless in 1.6.
