Oh, and here's another one, I'm sure they are of a similar magical structure to these, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Propylon_Chamber
But weaker, as only soul shriven seem to be able to use them through a special condition.
Yup http://www.ign.com/wikis/elder-scrolls-online/Elder_Scrolls_Timeline
I do hope you realise that ESO comes before the ENTIRE TES timeline, right?
I was joking.... ESO takes place in the 2nd era, 582.

It takes place in the middle-ish of the entire TES timeline... Not before any of it. If it took place before the entire TES timeline, none of the current races would exist except for maybe the Akaviri races.... So umm... yea...
Edit:
Redguard and Online are, in terms of timeline order, the 'first' Elder Scrolls games.
"The Second Era - Also known as the "Common Era", includes the rule of the Akaviri Potentates, as well as the 400-year time period known as the Interregnum. The Elder Scrolls Online and Redguard take place in this era."

Game wise it is a prequel to all other Elder Scrolls series and during release they said that the events of ESO take lace during the Interregnum between the Imperial dynasties. It does preclude Redguard chronllogically

ESO comes before Redguard, by a few hundred years.... There's still a good thousand + years in TES lore before ESO happens. You need to reword "ENTIRE"
I'm aware... But Shunravi said the "Entire" timeline. Look... Down there *points down* iz in muh signature fo christ sakes. xD

Very good point. I added the word "game" to ease confusion.
Big words make one seem of higher intelligence, were that actually the case this one would probably have procured a job less demanding and more rewarding of a higher pay grade. Yes?

Well, being a panda has great percs I hear...
Back on topic though, OP, they used wayshrines for an effortless way to travel. They could of used Horse and cart... But whats the point, it gets you from point A to point B... And it isn't the only lore-bending thing in this game...

Something like the wayshrines making travel too easy for lore can be easily bypassed as an issue. As a magical device, its use could simply have magical consequences... or magical requirements.
I'd hypothesize something like this. The wayshrines can only be activated and used by a being who has been touched by the power of the Aedra or Daedra, or perhaps maybe even something more specific than that, like that they have to have a mystic connection to Meridia or someone else that the player's character would have had a connection too but most other people don't.

And Cyrodiil at this point and time is suppose to be a f**king jungle. Your point?

Unless of course if the whole Tiber Septim chim thing is retroactive.
