Thanks for your understanding.
That's right! If you're going to sell your account take it out side the forums. Then it's okay.
lol destiny and planet side 2 are gonna be its main competitors.... draw your own conclusionsThis is Bethesda's MMO, and their only MMO. It's not going to get thrown to the wayside. Many of the changes being made are specifically to make sure it has a future. Many of them modernize the game in really critical ways.
If you can't see that, I'm sorry.
The ONLY concern we should have now is obviously PAY TO WIN. It's a fine line. Sony has left a bad taste in my mouth with Planetside 2. I hope ESO doesn't end up feeling that way.
some will stick around to watch it crash and burn just like theyve done with destiny and swtor.Exactly man, this is the best ESO news I have heard since launch.
I agree... ESO going B2P is very good news. I am looking forward to these changes.
On the other hand, to all the whiners in this and other threads:
The game is going B2P. Period. The end.
If it really, really bothers you that much, why are you still here? Rather than throwing childish tantrums in the forums, your time would be better spent searching for some other game to play instead of ESO (now that going B2P has ruined it for you).
BTW, those other games are all thataway =======>
Have fun.
theyre doing that so people dont get scammed buying/selling game time cards fo cash. its already happening in one form or another. ever seen a gold ad in eso. same thing basiclydaneyulebub17_ESO wrote: »No MMO with an ingame cash shop is worth playing. F2P ruins games in sooo many ways.
Yet Blizzard have P2P + in game cash shop and see people still keep playing WoW and use there cash shop and say that only F2P te ruin games is very short sight of you say and now blizzard is work on sell in game token that gave you can subscribe time for in game gold which you can other use or sell to other player.
Personal i have say that what blizzard is 100 time worst then what ZoS is doing.
link a source pleaseI somehow doubt the game collapses now that it's free to play. Think about all the people that just sort of like it, bought it, but don't subscribe because they don't feel that strongly about it? Those people will actually play now.
Ya.
Just look at LoTRO after F2P.
It pretty much died, despite the influx of new players at the beginning of the switch.
Why did that happen? Because you actually need revenue to pay for game development. And when revenue starts to drop off, guess what? Game development ceases.
That's exactly what happened with LoTRO.
WHAT? What you've stated about LOTRO is 100% completely false! LOTRO has had a handful of fairly large expansions with good content since it's F2P conversion and the world has tons of active players. You shouldn't spread misleading info because you're emo taking arrows to both knees at random.

Uh, no. The quality of content has been steadily decreasing since SoA. LotRO is a shell of what it was, even if we part opinions in what "quality content" LotRO has to different people it's clear the store is pointed to at every opportunity, and was confirmed by Sapience around a year ago iirc that they have no plans on developing new raids in the foreseeable future (content that apparently didn't have the quality/support to be created when compared to the return they could get by popping out some more landscape fetch quests and sell it in the store). It truly is a shame what happened to LotRO (founder here).

I'd say Mines of Moria (which was before F2P) was a quality expansion.
Everything after that was pretty crappy and the players knew it.
Mirkwood was "okay" but most of us blazed through it in about a week. It just went downhill after that.
I really love ESO, in a sort of casual way. I love to play it on-and-off, and some weeks I just find myself interested in other games. money is really tight these days for many Americans.
I'm sure I am not alone in being excited to be able to play for free! I have two computers, two accounts, but can't afford $30 a month just for one game for me and my girl, when so many others don't have a subscription fee.
Don't sell anything that gives other players and advantage.
I would avoid selling shortcuts, too.

yea screw all the people who want a good game with constant updates and no p2w features because you want to play it free.

We all know nothing is ever free. Therebis one thing I do like about the new b2p model. It encourages community growth and allows people who believe in the product after playing it for a while to pay what they feel the game is truly worth to them.
I bought the imp edition and had a recurring 6 month sub, but got so busy with real life I didn't have time to play until back in December. I'm ok with the $78 i put in that i never used because i wanted to play it. as a player that only played versions 1.0 and 1.57 I am reinforcing my decision to remain subbed because I see a BIG difference between then and now. The progression is smoother, the environment works better, i have a better experience overall than i did last april.
I can't tell you what to do with your money or what to do with your game, but i can tell you they have fixed a lot of problems that were present at launch and they do listen to player feedback.
If you fail to identify the your true reasonings for opposing this transition, how will the design team be able to address the primary and hidden objections you might or might not have?

If you cant afford a subscription based game, you should prob look at your life/career choices rather than expect the game/world to conform to your lack of socioeconomic status.
Not everyone of the face of this planet are in the medium to top income bracket. Plus we do not know what out going's the poster has.
Mortgages, children, schooling, food, insurance, medical insurance/bills, dental work, rates etcetera, even running a vehicle can be expensive due high price of petrol & other cost's related to vehicles. Financial side of life is not easy for everyone, so paying a monthly sub for a game could be a luxury.
If things are so tight you can't afford a $15 a month sub, how did you pay for that $2k+ gaming machine?
Just curious....

Good post Dave, I too often have to take breaks from playing for work/life reasons.
ESO is the only mmo that I thought was actually worth paying a sub for (because the game is amazing and I could actually see work being done on it), but I am very happy that it has gone b2p, it actually incentivizes me to play it more than when it was a sub and I will be able to buy it for friends and play with them (most people I know wouldn't pay a sub for a game).
