No more new end-game only (VR/level 50-only) content?

Certainly leveling is one clear way to provide accomplishment, but I think with the Champion System we'll be looking at other ways to provide a great feeling of accomplishment. To be blunt, however, I think the days of gating content by level are probably behind us.

There are a couple ways I can speculate at this.. all of them I'm not a fan of.

    1. The entire game will now be scaled to your level
    2. No more "end game" content (such as trials) will be added

I can now almost believe there will never be gear in the cash shop. Why? Because there won't be any amazing gear. Your level 10 could go run the same content as your level 50.

I haven't even reached end game, but I want to. It is a goal and the reason I continue to work on my character and max out my skills and try new sets. With no end game I feel like I will go pass through any new content then be bored. Why? Because it will NEVER be any easier or difficult, it will forever feel the same (scaling).

I don't understand how championship points give me a reason to keep moving forward if there is absolutely no reason I need them. I will scale to the content whether I have champion points or not.. so what's the point?

Sorry everyone. I guess I just needed to let out a little emotional venting. If you have another view on this that is happier, feel free to let me know and maybe my eyes shall open to the good news too.

You might scale in level and stats to zones, but I doubt you will scale in gear sets or skill points and that will be huge to a level 10 with very few points. Of course they could go skyshard running with ease and get crafted level 10 gear sets or something.

That said; as it is now we have low level dungeons then VR scaled dungeons. I don't see why they couldn't replace the VR scaled idea with a new end game equivalent to when VR is removed, it is scaled to max level. Maybe just a hard mode of sorts, where its more difficult and there is now scaling.

Based on the new B2P model and the news about DLC and scaling that came out along with it this week, I suspect both of your speculations may pan out. And to make sure that most people can play all the content right away I am guessing that the scaling will be on the easier end of the spectrum.

I also now suspect that this was behind the change to ultimate point generation, so that in addition to less content being behind a level-gate less content would be behind a skill gate as well. The finesse system rewarded and encouraged knowing when to block, heal, dodge, or use certain abilities, but with the new game you just do a weapon attack every so often*. This would also be very advantageous and encouraging to new, right out of the box players**.

*And honestly if that is actually the case I wish they would just go the next step and make it earn X ult every y seconds you are "in combat" so I don't have to arbitrarily work weapon attacks into odd spots in my attack rotations.

**What does this mean for earning ultimate points after vet ranks go away? Will you still need to be level 50 or will it switch now in the B2P scheme to being available to anyone from level 1 up?
