CLOAKS/CAPES IN ESO!!!

Hello fellow Elderscrollians, I have started this thread in order for everyone to share their feelings on bringing cloaks into the game...Perhaps if we get enough people re-posting we can hope for a developer change!!! I say cloaks should have no attributes to them. They should be merely something to show off a guild emblem with, or even a special type of trophy. It wouldn't be hard to add, and I feel a lot of users would be satisfied. Let me know what you all think!

I never got how anyone could make a fantasy-game without them.
But, I dont get the lack of housing and barbershopes either, so what do I know.....

I think its a limitation of the engine but not sure.

Everything is like spandex so I assume capes would somehow break everything. Realistic graphics take resources to run so shortcuts like this are necessary because your CPU also has to be informed of where everyone is. Realistic graphics are great in MMOs, huh?

I want them. As for it being an engine issue, doubt it. DAoC had cloaks and we all know just how old that game is... If DAoC can do it, ESO can...

Yes but that cloak was made from 5 polygons, in game like ESO makeing decent looking cloak that work well with animation will be hard work (not to create them but for GPU/CPU ) + add different animation for Argonians & Khajits.

It might be done ofc, but imho should be Disabled in Cyrodiil - would hurt performance a lot!

Ofc i would love to have them in game, but if it hits Performance? Then better not make them.

They also said no Auction House, Player housing no sooner than 2 year anniversary, that yes they will be adding a barbershop, and many other answers but people haven't listened yet so why start now?

This, capes just don't fit with TES imho but Cloaks sure do... Serana anyone or how about the ESO trailers with the Mage and Thief both having a Cloak.

I can get on board the Cloak/Cape bandwagon.
I have this weird idea of how cool it would look if my character who is covered from head to toe in Heavy Armor could wear a cloak to hide all that metal.
Wearing a helm with a hooded cloak with parts of the helm just barely peaking out from the hood, that's a pretty awesome look that I would love to try.

Until then, my character can hide his armored appearance underneath an "EP Agent Costume" lol.

Capes wont happen, they already awnserd this.
The engine cant handle the capes, and pvp will crash if its moore the 5 ppl in the same arena. That is, if they do the capes as good as they want to do them.

But no, no capes, will not happend.

But i want them myself.

It's a poor programmer that says it "can't" be done... they just have to figure out the most efficient way to do it.

I believe it was in an interview by Frior before beta that he qouted Edna on the no capes.

Sorry, doubt it will ever happen with that in the history books.

I vote Yes to this. If we cant have capes, atleast give us a backpack to carry on ower back since lets be realistic here, where does the bag come from when you press "i" button (default key). I would also like to see my secondary weapon on my back aswell when using my main bar. It feel so strange that it just disapear when you swap bar + it looks dam cool to have lots of weapons on your back

Actually, i can't belive a game like ESO's engine can't handle with cape or cloak animations. Current state of the game engine can't handle the animations but everything can be update and improve. (Except İnterner Explorer

) This will take some time but im pretty sure it will be available. I can say update 10 or 11 we can hear the news ( Nostradamus mode on

)

Surely you are NOT comparing the graphics engine of this game to that of DAoC!

It's an unknowlegable fellow that claims to know that cloaks are easy when involved in programming realistic 3D Game engines!

Can the engine handle it? If it can handle flowing hair, it can handle flowing capes. Period.

And of course, cloaks and such have a long history in medieval-based fantasy... I for one would like one more clothing slot, for "back accessory", which could be a cloak, or a shirt cape, or anything else, really. Big backpack? Possibly. Samurai-style back standart? Why not? Handwritten "Kick Me" sign? Okay... maybe not that... ;-þ
