Because all names on UESP come from the games and NPC Altmer never used family names after Daggerfall, with a few rare exceptions. Keep in mind that parts of the early lore are outdated and it's especially visible in case of racial names: Argonian and Khajiit underwent a complete overhaul in Morrowind, for example. Fun fact: Legolas is a legitimate Bosmer name in Arena and Daggerfall. What were you thinking, Bethesda?Moonscythe wrote: »I hopped over to the wikea to look at lore names and wonder why there are next to no family names listed for Altmer in any of the games other than the list of possibles from Arena which used a formula. I started using elvish names using the LoTRO name generators for definitions but seem to have drifted to Italian and Greek for some reason though my Bosmer is lore-correct.

Argonian names are not Argonian names, they are Imperial versions of Argonian names.

And I do judge on names. I don't care about lore, but anybody with a GoT name or something like "World Best DK" (arbitrary example, not naming or shaming) will be mocked or targeted.

What is wrong with GoT names? On the EU server I am a member of a GoT guild, we all have at least one GoT themed character and often do a little light RPing or just general GoT chat? I don't get the hate?
Go play the GoT MMO you say. What is it?
I have LOTR characters, GoT characters, characters from novels I have read, characters from movies and lore friendly characters. Untill they create a RP server (on the first of never) I don't see the problem.
Is The Hound or Varys the Spider really as bad as Horny Butsecks and Sir Wanksalot?
This is hilarious. Forum moderation, perhaps you should look into in-game names as well?ThatHappyCat wrote: »I've seen an Argonian named "[snip]-In-Shadows". I suppose that's technically lore-appropriate.

I maintain that Breaks-Your-Immersion is an excellent name for an Argonian.
