More classes in the future?

Wasn't the Warden class just renamed to the Templar class?

No it was a completely separate class with a completely different theme (nature) and orientation (caster).

They probably had ranged heals as opposed to Templar pbaoes and they might have been able to summon animal pets. A pre-warden-drop demo video briefly showed what looked like a player summoning one. Same video showed what looked like a heal with a green swirly effect.

Wardens were supposedly dropped because the developers felt there was too much overlap with Templars.

What would be cool is if the class themselves morphed for example a Sorcerer at lvl 50/V1 would be presented with an option to morph into a Wizard, Necormacer, Witch or Warlock. This way they can branch off and these would present 3 new possible skill choices and 3 new passives that focus on the new line. It would be a promotion or a point to specialize in something and define our characters a little more.

Nightblade could Morph into Ranger, Assassin, Thief, or Scout.

Templar (I don't know the lore in Elder Scrolls for templars but because they are healers and warriors)could Morph into a Crusader, Priest, Sentinel, Warrior.

Dragon Knight could morph into Barbarian, Demon Slayer, Berserker, Dreadnaught.

    Just some ideas :smiling_imp:

Interesting ideas, @Sord , though they would require more specialization. I know games many moons ago that had this feature. It lead to specific and powerful builds, but you also chose carefully when the time came.

Keeping the baseline class was also an option.

I suspect you'll indirectly see a version of this with Champion Points - the ability to fine-tune your character.

By the way, options for Templar and DK you missed include Knight and Paladin.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Crusader = Paladin and Dragon Knight kinda already has Knight covered.

Also I could see that happening for a legit expansion pack but definitely not right now.

@Merlin13KAGL They would keep the base Templar, Sorc, DK and NB lines but the new skills would add new powers to the already made line up but would just give another line up to play with.

So a Sorc promotes to a Necromancer at 50 at this point they still keep the 3 main powers lines they already have D Summoning, D Magic and Storm Calling and a new wizard class line would now be available on top of those 3 with 3 new class powers under it and 3 new passives. Hope that helps clarify.

It wouldn't be any different than if they created new world line up deals like Dark Brotherhood which they are already doing and adding more potential powers for people to play with. This would just help give characters more class distinction.

Yes Knight and Paladin are some also possibilities, I was just whip crap out of me ***. ;) lol

/agree but the OP was asking for more classes and this I think would be easier then creating a whole new class and still allow people who have invested in the game the option to still keep the toon they love and build on it yet feel like they might be playing a new class and refine the toon more toward what they were originally hoping to make.

the game isn't designed to need more classes, just skill lnes. would love a necromancer skill line in the world skill lines. it should be a choice like vampirism and werewolves., and just as difficult if not more so to unlock

hand to hand combat to make a true monk class! Magical buffs and the ability to make your fist deal element based damage depending on the buff you turned on :P now THAT would make me feel right at home! sadly unarmed combat is not even on their radar which is really pathetic since it was always viable in elder scrolls games

Less classes in the future. I'd like to see the class system transform into the TES system.

Won't happen, it would take a rewrite of the game engine, and Skyrim is too complex to work as an MMO (the game had to pause when you selected items and spells, that would just get you killed in an mmo).

Edit~ Irealise now Kewl just meant the skill trees from Skyrim, which is what champon system seems to be based on.

I don't know about you guys, but i think that skill lines like the vamps (3 active and a few passive skills) are just too restrictive and tedious to play.As a result I believe that adding popular mmo classes like the necromancer, the paladin etc as world skill lines isn't going to be good enough. Those classes have so much potential, so it would be better to be added as full classes.

I wouldn't mind seeing a couple more classes come up. I think they will probably eventually do that, but I think there is a lot of other things to do first. I think the addition of skill lines is more of a priority. I would like to eventually see enough where there are a lot of legitimate options of not using any class skills at all. Dark Brotherhood and Thieves' Guild are coming. Awesome! I would like to see more. Beyond that, though, is the opening up of the world. I want to see the rest of High Rock and the Alik'r. I want to see Elsweyr. I think once they get the justice system out, big let down that the enforcer skill line is not coming out until a bit later btw, and the DB and TG they need to look to open up the world more. I am hoping for a large area expansion around the year and a half to two year mark.

Would love to see more skill lines. Like people said, something for ice users, polearms, unarmed, necromancer, and some more options. Also wish they would let stun skill with secondary effects still do that effect to monsters that can't be stunned.

I really want them to bring that warden class back. Druid-themed characters have traditionally been my preferred choice in RPGs, shame that they dropped it.

ZOS really doesnt seem to know what they want to do with this game, so they keep making conflicting or random decisions with development that give it even more of an identity crisis.

Anyways, my suggestion for the warden class is posted here:

Totally agree with base-classes morphing into sub-classes. @Sord your idea seems like the most appealing out of anyone's and I hope they do something about it. Necromancy would be a really fun thing to do (if they don't make it too OP like in Skyrim with an army of undead). They could make it so you were only as powerful as the NPC Necromancers and your Ultimate could be a Bone Colossus/Flesh Atronach. I'd certainly go for it as a Sorcerer when I turned V1 and would also have Vampirism alongside; a High-Elf Vampire Necromancer, now that sounds amazing! ;)

I also think that another sub-class could be a Shaman (like the ones you kill in that camp where the Silvenar is kept as prisoner). That way, Sorcerers would have the opportunity to heal or even just use an Aura of Protection so they were better at surviving on their own, while still dealing good amounts of damage.

The other sub-classes of the DK, Nightblade and Templar also sound good. Becoming a Priest on my Templar Healer would be ideal as they've always been the best Healers there are (and my personal favourite to be).

I don't if people would agree in another morph - the Druid. Kind of like the Druid in WoW, but maybe not so many options of animal-transformations so possibly one for travelling (quick but no attacking?), one for combat (large beast - kind of a Werewolf?) and one for healing (like the tree in WoW?).

Something to think about ZOS! ;)

No more classes imo. More skill lines needed. And the 5 abilities + 1 ultimate is fine as it is. Think if it as playing poker. You have a choice of all the cards in the deck but to win, you need a winning hand. A set of cards that synergises well with each other. A house of spades will go well, but perhaps a flush might suit you more.

We need a magicka based melee weapon skill line, a debuff / buff skill line and perhaps a nature based skill line, tied to a either a weapon or on its own.

I support more character classes but they need to do it right and have them fit in with the established lore of the game. I also would like to see more skills added to the game for example the sorcerer really should also have the fire skill line ability, ice skill line ability. I also would like to have them add a ranger skill line ability.
