I started Beta Testing ESO under NDA in July, 2013, have extensive experience beta testing business and gaming software, hardware, infrastructure, was a software developer and enterprise level project manager. I'm a retired IT Pro/Consultant to public utilities, healthcare, and Fortune 1000. Furthermore I'm a life long PC and CP/M gamer, especially RPGs.

As a co-founder and member of the leadership team of The Elder Sages Guild (TESG), I am a position to state emphatically that our guild membership is knowledgeable, experienced in solo and MMOs, with international membership, playing in the NA, EU, and PTS megaservers. We were honored to participate in the closed Beta and continue to provide extensive, detailed, bug reports and feedback. Our membership is typical of many experienced Guilds.

ZOS is neither floundering nor failed. ESO is one of the most successful, massive game launches, and introduced megaserver technology. The Elder Scrolls series from Bethesda Studios was awarded the Golden Joystick Award for Best Game Series of the Decade! ESO continues that excellence.

My immediate feedback for the Guild Summit, which I hope attendees share, is to continue to expand ESO areas, but be certain to include areas and adventures for casual and solo gaming.

In closing, and as a new member of the "Loyalty Program" my six month subscription will be renewed and you'll continue to see me from time to time in Tamriel! Our guild's unofficial motto is however and whenever you play, Have Fun!!

that's cool and all but you're in the alliance war section of the forums, for PvP, which is continuously broken to ***. that you played in beta does not bare any relevance to the current discussion and does not at all indicate you understand the game's meta - i dont know why people keep bringing it up. looking at the state of PvP, to say it is not floundering...well you just dont know what you're talking about.

please go back to pve land mr "fortune 1000" ahaha

Actually, "Mr Sarcastic", whose name I will not mention, this is the thread for the Guild Summit so my comments as a Guild Leader are entirely relevant. Please return to your Zerg...

I think it's kind of implied that all threads in the alliance war section are in regards to pvp. There is actually a thread on the same topic in general discussion, your thoughts would be better heard over there.

So everyone who PvP's zergs, huh? That's cool.

So, Cyrodiil is broken, Many guilds/players have left refusing to cave in and play with the broken mechanics that are currently in place.
Guilds and players have voiced their concern since beta, right on through to our current state that there are game breaking mechanics that have allowed Guild/Players to gain an unintended unfair advantage since ESOs release.
Guilds who have taken the time to be a part of ESO, and have wanted to be a part of the solutions have complained about problems that have existed since BETA . Those problems seemingly have gone UN-answered and we, as players have been met with "fixes" to problems but they are in reality, have not been fixed at all.
I have played ESO since early BETA and am saddened by the lack of response by the "Devs" and have canceled my 6 month sub.

I think anyone who focuses on pvp will agree that much of pvp is not operating anywhere near its potential. Any claims to the contrary reflect very little real experience in pvp. The game may be wildly successful in pve. I can't say, and I don't really care. In pvp, I am plagued with lag, crashes and actions obviously not intended by ZOS. That's not a successful launch in my opinion.

Not that it really matters at this point, but I am wondering what Guilds are still around that have been invited to the "summit"?
I read earlier that one of the "featured guilds".. The Noore left in disgust a few weeks ago. Are there any large guilds still around who "officially" do not take advantage of the weak game mechanics and justify their actions by saying .. "well everyone else does it"?
How many guilds are still playing who have abused weak game mechanics to gain an advantage and drive off smaller more skilled guilds?
How many of those guilds have been invited to the "guild summit"?

Before they add anything they should work on fixin what they do have and implementing patches that don't break everything else.

    Just for starters.

Can we stop with the bickering?

This thread went from trying to get a message through, which is already a slim chance, to over 50 answers about the people that were invited.
How petty can we really be? This is pathetic.

The people invited don't matter, the ideas they bring with them do.

Community polls and elections are an absolute mistake. Nothing more than a popularity contest and the elected person won't bring anything the company didn't already gather from the "campaign".

The people that are interesting at this point are those that:
    - "Win" at this game, to explain what systems they exploit to have an advantage and study/correct them. Playing to win means enjoying victory, not necessary the means to reach it.
    - were once involved and that left in digust. Those that really loved the game but just couldn't tolerate it anymore.

Honestly, any other selection process would just result in pandering and irelevant data. So let's just put aside the fact that a lot of us would have loved to be invited and focus on what needs to be told.

A few responses of "whos that" and "we deserve it more than you" is more than enough to point out that some people are just being jealous a-holes that want to be able to say they talked to a dev or something.

Get over your egos about how pro you think you are at pvp.

I wasnt invited, dont see me crying about it like a good lot of you are.

The people invited don't matter, the ideas they bring with them do.[/b]

Community polls and elections are an absolute mistake. Nothing more than a popularity contest and the elected person won't bring anything the company didn't already gather from the "campaign".

Which is precisely why a more professional and constructive option, not to mention a more effective PR strategy, would have been to have a PUBLIC contest where people sent in their best suggestions on a range of specific topics, and the community voted on the IDEAS, not the people.

Bethesda did something similar with their "week of modding madness" or whatever it was called, where the community weighed in on which modding projects showcased in the developers' "jam sessions" would be featured in an upcoming patch.

I don't think people are frustrated with the people; I am sure they are good people, and as all that are interested in the future of the game, I'm sure they have some good ideas how it could be further improved.

I think what you are picking up on is the legitimate frustration many feel about what this closed-door selection process appears to say about their own value as a customer and a member of this community, particularly those that have been offering constructive suggestions and valuable feedback (and I'm not saying everyone complaining has been, just that it is understandably frustrating).

It almost seems that when it comes to who has ZOS's ear, size is everything.

I don't find that a particularly healthy PR strategy, if that was their goal.
