ZOS announces it's first guild summit taking place next week

Alright, so ESO officially announced it's first ESO Guild Summit

ZOS are flying out 20 of us from the player community from NA and EU next week - we arrive on Tuesday Sep 30th, will have the summit over 2 days, Oct 1st and 2nd, and they fly us out on Oct 3rd

The summit itself is two full days of:
There will be a total of 4-5 roundtables each day, with a catered lunch break in between.
The roundtables will generally be a mix of presentation and open discussion with representatives from a specific development team, such as crafting, PVP, and gameplay systems.

Additionally we'll be going out for dinner and drinks every night and so there will be additional opportunity to have 'off the record' discussions

Most of you who know me either from in game or here on the forums know that I am passionate about the PvP side of the game

I am not sure how well represented the PvP side of the community will be, so I offer to set aside any differences you might have with me, which faction you are in, and either post well thought out suggestions here in this thread, or message them to me privately here on the forums

First and foremost, I hope you enjoy your trip and may it be informative and productive. Anything you say or do to help promote the well-being of the PVP aspect of the game will be appreciated. Hopefully you will find a sympathetic ear or two, if nothing else.

Sounds great in theory, but it won't matter when they come back and do no implement anything. Hoping for the best, prepared for the worst.

Personally i want more character customization. Guild Wars 2 has a lot of these options . A barber to change look and style of your character. Some way to transmogrify gear - mix the look of an item with the stats of an another.

Gambling and other time money sinks- i'd fish if was actually useful in some way.

The game is good at the minute but these would make it better for me.

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched. To me, sounds like a PR stunt and this is based off of current actions and inactions by said company at this given time.

Eve Online does this sort of community consultation regularly and for the benefit of the game, including flying the elected player council to Iceland once a year. I think it's a GREAT thing.

Hope it's a good trip - being listened to will be useful.

While you are there please spare a thought for us newer online players who don't have the depth of experience in guilds, groups and MMOs that the established guilds do and consider how content impacts on us.

Agree and hoping to be wrong at the same time. They for sure have to show way more commitment to the community as a whole and not just a select few individuals. I remain skeptical till I have seen how this has turned out.

I don't recall Blizzard flying anyone out and paying out of their own pocket. Zeni make this positive please. You have a golden opportunity to become a paragon for game companies. For all its flaws and brokenness I love the heck out of ESO and I eschew other MMO's and even other single player games for it. Heck I can't remember the last time I played on Steam. The game is deserving of the care put into it and worth more investment.

As for the players I envy you. Have yourselves a blast and hopefully you can help the team hammer out some issues. No game is without bugs and people these days don't know bugs until they've been on a boat to Stranglethorn inside the Dalaran Bubble in the middle of Stonetalon Mountains. If you're old enough to know what that means good times.

Lucky you. I've already given my input over the forum across several threads, too much to rehash here. Hopefully it's been heard by someone, and as long as this isn't the end all be all of player feedback, that will be fine. Your open letter covers the important stuff.

I will make one plea, let no one talking about reducing campaigns include the elimination of the Non-Vet campaign. I'm a bit biased here. It was one of my suggestions from way back, and against all odds it works. My guess is because players can't get their vet main in there to farm emperor, and no one can home it parmently to use as a buff campaign. Tell them to take a close look at it to see how a campaign naturally balances itself when you eliminate these incentives.

Also, if they do decide to reduce the number of mixed campaigns, can we get an option to unselect our home and guest without having to change campaigns? Same 3 day restrictions could apply to being able to reselect a new campaign, or even a week if need be. I ask as one of those players who legitimately plays alts in all three factions, not to be a spy, and who is willing to jump in on the underdog side to help out. That is all.

Good. I am sceptical about them selecting people without those people being voted for by the community - which I think should have happened, but at least they will be ensuring a decent proportion of the geographical community is represented.

It will be interesting to see how many ways you can stretch "we are looking into it" or "working as intended" into a 2 full days. Based on the interview broad casted yesterday, I have no hope that anything productive will get accomplished.

AoE caps destroying PvP via zergballing/blobbing needs to be addressed. There are other issues with PvP, but this is the most pertinent and ZOS needs to comprehend it as such.
Keep AoE caps active in PvE; remove AoE caps from PvP.

Otherwise, not certain how to feel about this summit.
It is great that ZOS is being proactive enough to fly out players and discuss this, it shows a degree of respect for the playerbase and desire to better their game.
It seems somewhat unnecessary though. Flying people around the globe in order to rehash the same points that have been made ad nauseam on the forums?
It is a good idea; however, personally would prefer to see more community interaction through venues where all players have the ability to communicate.
@ZOS_BrianWheeler having a Q&A period during the stream would have gone leagues towards this end. It did not happen though.

Overall, please attempt to make clear how real the issues that are being brought up on the PvP forums are. Have confidence in you to do that, but not certain how receptive ZOS is to it.
It needs to be known that many of the mechanics issues (AoE Caps with the issues they cause; Forward Camp mechanics; Suicide traveling; Campaign balances; among all the others), are very real. These are not matters of players getting stressed out over performing poorly in PvP and venting on the forums; they are concrete issues that are hindering gameplay.

Glad to know the company is hosting these sort of discussions in effort to improve the game for the playerbase.
Hope that issues are adequately represented and that ESO genuinely takes steps in the right direction from this.
