Came back to see if there was any news here and wow, seems like the common theme is SSD. Yes, that would include me as well. Right along with the others who have high end rigs and started having stuttering issues no matter the settings after 1.4 (NA server).
Something interesting I noticed in my ESO video settings is that the resolution box goes blank after playing. Or maybe I never noticed that before. (Example, go to video setting in game and set it to 1920x1080, play for a bit and go back to settings, resolution is blank 0.o).

its still present when im not but its hardly noticeable unless im trying to perform an action when it stutters.
can we get an update from ZoS here? is it something you have found on your end too? or could it simply be something within our individual systems?

Not really.
SSD drives are faster at most types of data read/wrights. Dont have a seek time to speak of, however not all read types are faster on an SSD compared to HD. (most are -- not all)
SSD's with MLC based chips take longer to write then a typical hard drive.
I dont remember my other sources for a few specific read types being faster on a HD.
What is really happening I dont know.
It is true that windows will buffer write data in RAM. If one had an MLC based SSD and windows hits it's trigger point to write the buffer it could cause the kind of stuttering/lag I saw last night and my SSD could be part of the problem.
The other part being how much ram I have which enables windows to load up more data to write.
Who knows maybe the game engine is prone to queuing write data?

Hey ZOS! Please tell me you guys are working on this issue. The game ran perfect before update 4. This lag/hitch in the game is ridiculous! Still no update on this issue??? Not going to resub until fixed.
I had the same issue. I completely reloaded the game and it seems to be better but I have not really had a chance to test it for long. Repair didn't work, changing settings didn't work, disable addons didn't work, turning off all effects didn't work, updating the graphics card driver didn't work.
@Elf_Boy Clearly you did not comprehend what I wrote. As I stated, the game ran smooth and perfect before update 4. Nothing on my side has changed. My system is up to date, including all drivers. I even went as far as completely wiping the entire game and reinstalling. This problem did not exist for me until update 4. Plenty of people are having this problem as well.

Yes of course, because I dont agree with you I must not understand.
Every day you use the computer the file system changes.<blah> <blah> <more blah gibberish>

Uhm.
If many of us have been running SSD drives since pre-launch with no stutter....
.... and now... we... have stutter..... since the patch.... when we didn't before....
Well, I'm failing to see how my existing SSD is now responsible, when it was demonstrating no stutter all this time.....
and it's not the program that we ought to point fingers at?
Try to imagine my great confusion.

I first saw that right after the first 1.4 patch.
You know, when I was fixing all my keybinds and other settings.
Disabling hardware acceleration did nothing for me. For moments stuttering and freezes are getting worse, almost unplayable.Hoping the scheduled maintenance is going to fixe that issue.
