You might have a point if this had been going on for years but this is month five after the launch of the game.

Because you're insisting that this type of content doesn't belong in MMOs, several others show you're simply wrong. Group content is fine, a level-cap without any non-group content isn't.

The 'G' in MMORPG doesn't stand for group.

The G doesn't stand for Solo either. In fact...the MMO part stands for Massively Multiplayer which means co-op play which means group.
When you play multiplayer version of Call of Duty...do you wander off in the corner and do your own thing, or do you play in a group? Because last time I checked Multiplayer encourages group play.

Again if you want to level without group play, well then that's why TES has several single player RPG titles.

I don't work for ZOS and am not a hardcore fanboy, but I accept the reality of the situation which is in fine print in most disclaimers "Your Game experience may change over time."

An MMO is a multiplayer game with some solo features. It is NOT a solo game with some multiplayer (or grouping) features.
Learn to accept an MMO for what it is. There's that sayin' "You cant make a *** a housewife" or something like that. In other words, it is what it is.

Let me also make note- Due to my work schedule, I can only play around 5am on the NA server (EST time). Ya, not a whole lot going on in Craglorn at that hour. Having time to find groups is a challenge for me. But I am not complaining.

Please also note that this is the second time in this forum that you say "An MMO is a wrong term and a contraction of MMORPG and you should learn grammar", it's also the second time I have to educate you when you clearly could have done the search yourself in google. It's quickly getting old (guess it won't be old much longer since you claim you'll unsub when update 4 hits, "fingers crossed"). Please learn to read and do a simple google query.

My frustration mostly comes from the fact that I want to be a primary PvP player like I did in DAOC for years. There are a few things preventing me from doing that here. First, there hasn't been a single day since launch where PvP is running smoothly. At any given time, there has been a near game-breaking exploit, bug, or stability issue (FPS, crashes, etc). Those things I can even overlook if there is some light at the end of the tunnel, and quite frankly there hasn't been. Second, ESO is increasing their level cap at a pretty high rate considering the work that you put in for your end game gold gear and grouping at the higher VR levels to reach cap without exploiting. This means that a PvP player is forced to PvE, for gold, gear and experience gains. I was originally very excited to play ESO when I learned the DAOC guys were involved in development. Apparently, they didn't understand what some of DAOC's best strengths were. Mark Jacobs does though. ;)

Do you currently PvP? If a raid of 10-15 come at you they are going to blow you up whether you are VR12 or VR14. In fact, your VR isn't going to matter in Cyrodiil since it's AvA style PvP. The only point it becomes a problem is small scale PvP like 2v2 Arena. You can level in Cyrodiil as well you know.

    Not even close.
Yeah, it's great that over 50% of the players dislike the biggest selling point of the next patch.

*50% of people on the forums who are willing to voice an opinion
Oh, so forum polls are completely accurate when they support your opinions, but not when they don't?

    Legit.

They're not, despite what anyone says. Forum polls represent a minority, either argument.

No, I don't mind it, I'll reach it eventually through casual play and people that always need something to achieve / need to be at cap will have something else to do for a while.
I think cancelling your subscription just because of another level cap increase might be too drastic an action, no? Eventually the new system will replace it, and all the exp/VP you previously got will be converted to the new system. :)

Half of the people saying yes will probably not cancel their sub anyways and continue playing. People complain there is not enough progression, I got my DK to VR12 about 3 months ago and have never really played an Alt, I am focused too much on my main. So good news for me until they implement the champion system. Enjoying vacation right now and checking up on the forums until I get back in September!

No, it really isn't. I respect the way you play the game and the things that make it fun for you. Hopefully some day everyone belittling those who are having a game taken away from them will someday similarly respect others.

If you want to know what it's like, imagine the game goes F2P. Some people hate that, so they quit. Makes sense. I saw a lot of people saying "I'd try Wildstar if it wasn't so cartoony." Imagine patch 1.5 switches this game to cartoony graphics out of the blue. I bet it wouldn't be weird if people quit then. Some people would quit if they scrapped Cyrodiil and implemented 10v10 battlegrounds.

The constant level cap increases ruins the game for people who like to chase gear and min/max their characters. I realize it might not seem intuitive at first - more levels, more gear to chase, right? The problem is that with the frequency, there's never any opportunity to enjoy the gear you're chasing, which defeats the purpose.

You're going out of your way to communicate to the horse that he will never get that carrot, but then dangling it on a string none the less and expecting him to run.

They also have a huge amount of players that want something new to work towards. And they can't continue to have new content released with no increase to the level and eventually for the champion system. I see no problem with this, as the upgrade from V12 gear that so many have spent their 4 or so months with having some of the strongest gear in the game with legendary quality, now have something new to work towards. I look forward to that. The current V12 gear players are wearing isn't going to be obsolete because the level cap was raised. I see no problems with this personally. The gear won't be significantly better between V12-14 I don't think.

I dont think I will cancel my subscription, but I really hope they dont implement it in the near future. For me it is way to early. I have alot of sets and builds to try out, and I would not like to start all over again (with the sets that is). If there come new vet ranks really soon, and they continue to come in the same pace, I think I will have to think about stop playing this game for real. Then it would become to stressfull, and to little fun:(. But I hope that doesnt happen:)

Well im not canceling because of the cap increase. Im canceling because i think the end game is just getting out of an alpha and we are beta testing it. I will return when they have the Specs balanced, armor balanced , melee balanced and the itemization fixed. the fact you can do the hardest four man content in game and receive nothing use full other then some mat break downs . Do trials for zerg times and receive a set that you could craft something equal and in most cases better in 90 seconds. has put a serious damper on me will to log in.

ZOS's itemization would work great for a sand box, with open world PVP. I would be fine with VR increase if they had a clear direction, listened to the community about their end game implementation, balance, and armor imbalances.

Right now they are just throwing unfinished content at people to try to retain subscriptions with time sinks.

These examples don't seem analogous to me, I suspect most people don't see the equivalence between qualitative changes to the nature of the game, and adding more of what was already in the game.

It sounds like you don't really like to chase gear, if you're not enjoying using the gear you have to chase new gear.
You're going out of your way to communicate to the horse that he will never get that carrot, but then dangling it on a string none the less and expecting him to run.

The horse never getting the carrot is the point, if he did he'd stop running. If people (as opposed to forum trolls) seem unsympathetic it's probably because it's very odd to see someone advocating for having no way to progress their character as a desirable state of affairs.

The examples are analagous in the sense that people have different priorities. I wouldn't quit if the game went F2P, but I understand that some people would.

Once again, you can offer progression without increasing the level cap. No one is saying there should be no progression.

VR system will be scrapped eventually rendering this a none issue, and you just grinded your way to VR12 you can carry on for another 2 levels.
If real life had a block function i would go out more.

Increasing it every couple of months is bad.
Bad because when you think you are at the top and go crafting some mega gear you end up have to scrap it for the next tier a few weeks later.
I don't have a problem with increasing levels- I have a problem with the speed at which they are being rolled out.

I've already been contemplating taking a break from ESO and checking back in a few months. However, if ESO is set on a path of being focused on a PvE treadmill grind type game I'll be out of here for good. Adding yet more VR ranks when there's so much player opposition will indicate to me that Zenimax is set on a path I'm not interested in following. so, yes I will cancel.

(and no you can't have my stuff... you like PvE grinding right? Why would I deny you that pleasure by giving stuff that's free of your beloved treadmill)

It's more so the waste of legendary materials the the leveling. I can get to VR14 in a day or two probably, but it would take two or three weeks to replace all of my gear.
