When I hear "We're converting veteran points into XP, and it will make it faster to level up", it sounds like there will still be veteran levels. He never says the champion system will remove the veteran ranks, but what does he know? He's only the guy making these changes.

Please stop spreading misinformation. The moderators on this forum have given blunt, clear answers to this question.
Once the Champion System is implemented, VR levels disappear. Period. End of story.
Proof please.
Where does that come from? Link please.
How are you going to feel when you find out that Jessica was given the wrong information? Because from what the lead dev for the champion system, Paul Sage, said, VR will level with XP and champion points will be used for improving skills. And he's the guy making these changes.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love for them to talk about longer-term plans. That's just not what people are requesting right now for this particular issue.Maverick827 wrote: »Who's asking for details about a year's worth of content? There's been a slight uptick in posting prepared information dumps (things like the Provisioning Revamp thread) but zero increased effort in answering questions.
The Provisioning Revamp thread is a perfect example of this. Over the course of two months, Zenimax created the thread, made one update, and then posted "Okay, we're going to go ahead with our initial plans" disregarding 20 pages of feedback.
This VR14 issue has been festering for two days and there's no sign of any acknowledgement or discussion about it.
Just because they don't respond to every Tom, *** and Harry's post doesn't mean they aren't listening. The fact that they created the thread asking for player feedback on the idea in the first place shows they want to know what their community wants. Most other devs would go along with changes without even considering asking for player input.
It's never enough for some people though and I don't envy ZOS. These forums are extremely toxic and full of misinformation and hyperbole. There is a reason they seem to be more active on the ESO subreddit as well as actively answering player questions and concerns during podcasts like ES: OTR. Because these forums are full of extremely rude comments from people with no respect for what the devs have done so far or for what their future plans are.
How many games have you played where the devs have detailed about a year or more worth of upcoming content? How many MMO devs actually hit their promised content update cadence? Not many.
Why are they implementing VR14 when they're just going to remove veteran ranks soon?
Do they realize their design philosophies make legendary gear too risky to create? Are they okay with this or can we expect to see systems to mitigate the risk of making legendary items? If not, why bother having them in game if they're never worth making?
Go to the BioWare social forums and see the level of developer interaction I expect. I knew more and about Dragon Age 3 and felt I could have my questions answered more reliably about that game two years ago than I know about the Champion system today.
Well as a paying subscriber I like to see what the future of the game is going to look like and whether it's going in a direction I support or not. I guess some people are fine with being left in the dark.
Also how is it so diificult for some to understand that until the champion system comes we still need some form of progression, VR14 fills that void until the champion system is fully fleshed out, I'd rather they take their time and implement a new level cap now then rush out a half-a**ed system.
Are you going to complain about not getting refunded your mats each time a new gear season comes out once seasonal gear is implemented? MMOs change and evolve, most need some form of progression or the "carrot on the stick" to keep people interested. Evolution and change is the name of the game when it comes to MMOs and if the game is not headed in a direction you're happy with then feel free to move on. Sitting on these forums making demands and complaints does nothing positive for us the paying subscribers or the devs.

Once the Champion System is implemented, VR levels disappear. Period. End of story.
This is the truth if you put the whole time line together . Paul clearly spelled it out
Phase 1 Is basically balancing , Zones content , and hopefully more balances to Specs and armor system.
Phase 2 is conversion of XP , getting rid of the VR experience points. converting the VR system to normal EXP making them easier to obtain.
Phase 3 is implementation. This is were the Champion system is introduced to live.
where people are confused is the phase we are currently in. That is obvious. it's phase one the balance is still bad and End game PVE specs are limited. So we are in the balancing phase and will likely be there through the holidays. We know Octobers/november update is the new VR 14 dungeon and dont count on any thing happening in December. And as we have not seen any rescaling of the old dungeons nor reitemizing we can anticipate this will be updates after the EXP conversion.
just to put realism on the whole thing so people get a clear picture. Content Updates are coming at a rate of about 6 to 8 weeks. From what is involved with the champion system and the massive overhaul it will be you will have another 2 to 3 months of phase 1 before they do a conversion of EXP in phase 2. and you will definately get the new VR dungeon before phase 2.
So for all you people that are in VR and cannot stand grinding anymore and are in a holding patern for the champion system. you will be that way until probably march or april of 2015 . if your not enjoying the game now and want this change your better of unsubscribing until the actual phase 3 implementation.
No way does it take them that long to implement the champion system. It's too important to the health of the endgame. At The latest I would expect it to come is maybe January of next year.
How is it so difficult for some to understand that you don't need to increase the level cap to offer new progression content? Every other MMO is able to do it.Wifeaggro13 wrote: »I hope your right. just looking at the time line here. i will be shocked if the champion system is in by January. but i agree it is to important to the health of end game. if they were any where near a launch date (90 days or less) they would not be increasing the VR again, this is a clear sign they need more time.Wifeaggro13 wrote: »nerevarine1138 wrote: »Because they aren't removing veteran ranks.Maverick827 wrote: »Why are they implementing VR14 when they're just going to remove veteran ranks soon?

I think regardless of when the champion system is coming an level cap increase has been long overdue. People don't like to stagnate at max level with little to no progression for months. I think even if the champion system was a month or two out they would have increased the level cap to accommodate the players that have been at VR12 since a week or two after Craglorn hit live.
When the champion system is out there is no VR progression. they are not going to increase the 50 lvl cap unless they have a full fledged expansion.Wifeaggro13 wrote: »I hope your right. just looking at the time line here. i will be shocked if the champion system is in by January. but i agree it is to important to the health of end game. if they were any where near a launch date (90 days or less) they would not be increasing the VR again, this is a clear sign they need more time.Wifeaggro13 wrote: »nerevarine1138 wrote: »Because they aren't removing veteran ranks.Maverick827 wrote: »Why are they implementing VR14 when they're just going to remove veteran ranks soon?

We are going to get rid of Veteran points - Veteran ranks are going to be gained through experience point gain. That means instead of going through and having to worry about whether you're gaining Veteran points in this way you'll have a very predictable path and actually faster path through your Veteran ranks. That's the second phase and also coming in that phase - and very important - is the fact that you'll get bonus experience. If you haven't played for awhile -say you haven't played for 20 hours or something like that you'll get a bonus to the experience gains you get and the reasons were doing this is to help you stay in sync with your friends who might play more than you do - so we're adding a bonus for people who don't play as frequently

Phase 3 is the introduction of the Champion System is the elimination/conversion of VR levels. Paul Sage was never talking about that in the interview paragraph that started this whole mess.

I read the road ahead, which you obviously didn't because there was nothing about this. I'll be satisfied when I see an official statement on the subject, not some random twitch response which could be incorrect. The community representatives are not devs and nowhere else does it say they are removing vr levels. Once an official announcement makes it clear, then so be it, but it seems this community is willing to accept speculation as fact, which is pretty stupid.

They have a lot of information to pass on about what the devs plan to do, but they are not the devs and they are not computers. It is possible they misinterpreted the information like anyone else. I would like a link to at least one other source before I go along with what is being considered fact. This isn't about what I want, this is about how people accept rumors too easily. We need an official link to a real response. A twitch screenshot is not enough.

After watching Paul Sage talk about the Champion Ranks, he never mentioned the removal of Veteran Ranks. He said they would remove the Points system of leveling in Veteran Ranks and align it with XP leveling.
But this whole thread is regarding Zenimax's failure to communicate, this one object highlights this fact, as this has not been communicated well on the forum.
I have searched for further information on the justice system, but once again the forum is lacking.
My personal opinion is that these forums are such a crock of ***, they have to use other peoples forums to talk to players.
He was talking specifically about phase 2, so of course he wasn't going to mention that since the removal of vet ranks is part of phase 3.
Honestly the real reason the devs and community managers are more active outside of these forums is because these forums of full of disrespectful rude people who are the lowest rung of the game's community. The others forums and vodcasts, etc. Are respectful so of course they're going to be more willing to talk directly with the more reasonable members of their community and not have to deal with all of the toxicity that goes on here.
Oh and also if you would read the road ahead article on the home page of this site then you would have an extremely rough timeline regarding when to expect to see the justice system.

Thank you for your clarification on this..
But this whole thread is regarding ZOS failure to communicate effectively on this Forum.
I have read the road ahead, which is why I would love to see more involvement from Devs on this forum regarding it, proper teasers, thing that will get people excited. But there is nothing, no official thread, nothing to excite the community in to discussing anything constructively. Just a forum full of requests for information, continual guess work by the community into what is actually happening.
Everyone here is a fully paid up member of the community, most are not toxic but frustrated.
As mentioned before this whole forum set up is a crock of *** and has been since release, it has improved slightly I admit, but it needs more love.
Most of all it needs more involvement from ZOS

I'm pretty sure you won't be satisfied until you personally Skype with the lead dev and hear him say it to you in real time. It's been said and confirmed that VR ranks are going away EVENTUALLY, but there are changes and balances that need to be made prior to that.
Look it up for yourself ya lazy bum. The info isn't hard to find. I'm pretty sure it was talked about in "The Road Ahead" released yesterday.
Isn't the job of the community managers to pass on information and answer questions? I doubt they're sitting around saying, "I wonder what misinformation we can spread on the forums today."
What is a "real response"? I'm sure the community managers get their info directly from the devs. They don't look over their shoulders and guess what their plans are, or what they're working on. It's not the devs job to relay info to the community, it's the job of the community managers....who have done so.

Do you have detailed information about their ranks structure? Mistakes can always happen. Why didn't they respond to the question on this forum yet? Maybe they are waiting for the answer as well.

Please stop spreading misinformation. The moderators on this forum have given blunt, clear answers to this question.
Once the Champion System is implemented, VR levels disappear. Period. End of story.

If you can read, you'll see that they already did respond to this question. They just didn't do so in this thread.
But you've made it abundantly clear that you're here to spread misinformation and ignore any evidence you're confronted with.
This is a flat out lie. There are dozens of constructive posts written every day that get ignored. You're blowing the amount of legitimately hateful posts on this forum out of the water.Cherryblossom wrote: »

Well the forum structure is being revamped, as was posted on these forums as an announcement a while back, should help improve that experience. But honestly most of the stuff you see on these forums is someone b*tching about this change or that change or just being generally rude towards the devs. You can't blame them from not wanting to interact with this type of community. There is next to nothing constructive or civil posted on these forums these days. It's either people complaining and generally being extremely entitled little sh*ts or posting silly polls. That doesn't mean there isn't ANY meaningful discussion that goes on but it gets lost in the sea of BS.
