Leveling up their alliance rank for skill points? Getting the PvP-related achievements (player kills, ranks, titles, corresponding dyes)? Chance at getting emperorship? Buying gear with AP?

Errrrrr, what? PvP to colour your clothes, get a title and meaningless player kills from dumping oil on them? Also, what would this AP acquired gear be good for if not to win the campaign? You don't need that gear (and it sux anyway)-farming AP can be done naked. And I thought Emperorship was just time in game, not skill.... So who really cares about it? The Emp farmers say there is no need to remove the passives for former Emps because they aren't really much to speak of anyway... So why would a person want it so bad?

Oh well, different strokes, right? At least I understand the mindset and realize they are not worth my time.

Hey, I'm not defending them. I only mentioned the benefits that come along with earning AP and pointed out that AP can be used to buy things other than siege equipment. I don't do it myself; I've never been an AP farmer and I care about my campaign (I'm not in Thornblade, for the record). If people are farming AP without the intent to spend it, level up their rank, or go for emperor, it's possible they do it because they like farming (and/or killing players). People might be farming AP just to try to prevent other people in their campaign from catching up and being emperor until a reset.

I don't speak with the mindset of an AP farmer; my attempt was to answer your question as to why anyone would want to farm (earn, etc.) AP.

Cool, cool. I obviously gave you the impression I was lumping you in with the group, and for that I apologize. I was directing my comments out to the ether in reference to said AP farmers.

Awesome fights tonight. AD looked like it was having a rough night even though when I first logged on they had most of the map. Great fights look forward to more. Wish the game client stopped crashing though.

Yeah, it was a bit of a struggle at times. I do have to say that the back and forth at Blackboot had me all over the map. I finally went to bed after the epic standoff with EP at Allesia Mine. That was one hell of a battle.

    Are you just stupid?

    To funny......

Who is this "funny" person you are writing a letter to? He sounds awesome and I would like to meet him. Or is he just a part of the secret cool kids club. That would give me the sadz :(

Its funny to me that you get all riled up over "AP farming" thats all. Even after your question was answered on why people AP farm you still have a hard time understanding that its really just groups effectively killing other players. In other words playing the game.

I was about to congratulate AD for running the map overnight/this morning with but then I saw their 3 bar pop vs. 1 bar for both DC and EP, not to mention all the bat swarming and the assistance they received from at least one visiting emperor in addition to the one they crowned on Thornblade. Even then, an EP PUG still held them off at the Chim temple, at least two different times. I never knew AD was this bad on this campaign.

Whats a visiting emperor have to do with anything? You one of those players who thinks an emperor of a different campaign keeps the benefits in a different campaign? Hehe

Oceanic AD is a powerful force, I wish there was some oceanic presence on EP side, but it seems there isn't any. If there are any oceanic EP guilds out there please conract me so we can work out something. Right now we have a few members that stay up and try to reduce the damage that AD does every night, but it is hard with the population difference.

There was at least one Emperor and one Empress playing for AD this morning. It was the Empress who was visiting, not sure from where. And if an emperor from another campaign was here, obviously many others were as well.

I can't really blame the oceanic crowd for wanting to be on the same server/faction in games so they have people to play with during their primetime. However, that fact doesn't make it any less frustrating that AD has a huge advantage because of it.

Anybody who had Emperor or Empress prior to the campaign flip retains the title permanently until ZOS chooses to fix it.

and we have a huge advantage by having EGL lag everyone on the server out while they take keeps in a ball of 150 people.

and EP has a huge advantage by having the only faction where PUGs are decent have have some form of organization.

all of this combined makes us have decently competitive fights and a pretty close campaign score, for the first time in the history of the campaigns. so stop crying in order to make yourself feel better.

Unless they decide to bring some kind of "tenacity" buff to increase the strength of the players who are out numbered, this campaign is pretty much one sided already. I surrender, see you next campaign for hopefully some kind of challenge.

Meanwhile, it would be nice if people from DC and EP would stop rerolling AD toons to stack up in the winning team like people would do in shooter games.. Please tell me there is more than half of mmo pvp players who enjoy a challenging game rather than bragging about their own pvp rank..

I take it you never played on Auriels Bow.

AD has a massive Oceanic Population, and is why I said AD should come in first place at the end of the month simply because any type of Point based system like we got is going to be decided based on who has the more Aussies on when no one is playing.

You can blame the Aussies for stacking 1 faction, They did the same thing in GW2 on servers as well.
