The Endless War (Seeds Quest) alternative WORKAROUND

Morvul

I tried following SkodaZeks workaround:

his method did not bring me sucess - but it did guide me towards finding an alternative workaround: essentially, I had to plant seeds in the living, not the dead - but with a twist!

1) create a corpse that is eligable for beeing "seeded"
(meaning a heritance NPC, NOT a zombie, NOT a skeleton)
2) do not try to actually plant a seed in said dead NPC
3) wait for respawn of the "seedable" NPC
4) aggro the respawn and position it exactly on top of the previous corpse
5) plant seed on the corpse while the new NPC is still standing on top of it
6) watch as the blood-cloud eminates from the LIVING NPC, and turns the LIVING NPC into a skeleton while a zombie emerges
7) Kill the now skeleton, wait for the next respawn and repeat (using the initial corpse, not the skeletonized, of course)

for clarification:
the key here is, that you position a living, seedable NPC exactly on top a dead, seedable NPC. You then press "E" on the dead one, which triggers the effect on the living one

I tried this and it worked quite well for me. Went from 5-6 quest restarts with 0/6 every time. Tried the above method and got 5/6. I partnered with someone else and we were able to get 6/6 with perhaps one fail.

Because there seems to be a chance to fail, I recommend grouping with someone for the extra seeds, but this method does work.

And Morvul is correct. The effect takes place on the LIVING npc, not the dead one.

This seemed to be working for me after trying everything else I got to 4/6 before realizing I had accidentally lost a seed with one remaining. I restarted the quest but then the bodies vanished when the respawn happened. I figured that was the end of this workaround, but the I noticed after killing the new spawn that the "E" wasn't greyed out. The seeding worked. And I noticed then it worked every time no matter what, so long as I waited a couple of seconds for the "E" prompt for planting the seed to turn white. Hooray! Good luck to those still stuck, I hope something works for you soon. :)

This quest bug is awful! But following your method worked for me, it just took a while because of respawn times.

First I re-bound my interaction key so that I wouldn't accidentally press it via reflex (so tempting to loot the golden-glow bodies...). Then I found a single, lone "Heritance" enemy so that I wouldn't get murdered from a group of 2 or more and so that I wouldn't get confused about which bodies were which. I led the original enemy away from its spawn a bit and killed it and left that body alone, then I returned to the spawn. I'm not sure if this part is necessary or not, but I did it just in case.

I waited for respawn and killed that enemy on its spawn point, but still didn't plant any seeds; I refer to this body as a "good" corpse. Then I waited for the next respawn, waited for it to start to attack me, then planted the seed as it stood on the "good" corpse, which planted the seed on the living one. After that I led the now-skeleton away from the spawn a bit before killing it to ensure that I wouldn't confuse its skeleton body with the "good" corpse. I then returned to the "good" corpse at the spawn, waited for the next spawn, and let it attack me and planted another seed on the living one as it stood on the "good" corpse, then led it away before killing it. After that the "good" body vanished, so I killed the respawn where it stood but didn't plant any seeds on the body, allowing it to become the new "good" corpse. I repeated this until reaching 6/6 seeds planted.

The single enemy I found was up the Eastmost ramp, and behind the Northmost house. There is another single enemy just on the west side of the house, but it walks around; the one behind the house stands still. There is enough space between it and the nearest enemies that you should be able to fight it without worrying about alerting other enemies. Also, very few people went all the way back there, so there is less of a chance of issues happening from another person messing with the enemy.

This is the only workaround that worked for me. Thank you for posting it.

What a travesty of quest scripting.

Damn it this so maddening, been unable to play for four days due to download issues finally get a session going and stuck on this quest. Gave up after two hours of running around with no success, now must try this respawn thing to finish this quest, if I can get the game to actually load, why do I pay $15 a month for this again??

Is this quest bugged for everyone, or is it just a situational thing? I ask because I just got this quest but haven't actually attempted it yet. If it's going to be this much of a pain I'll just wait to do it until they fix it.

Probably wrong corpse? Has to be a human and it takes several attempts with E while getting beat on. I didn't wait for a respawn, I dragged another NPC over to the corpse. Note in the screen minimap where I was at, nice spot. 1 npc that walks around a little. He walks over to where 2 Heritance NPC's spawn. Plus 2 more NPC's across the little pond, within ranged attack distance. So total of 5 NPC's there.

Ended up with a pile of corpses and I was able to loot them all LOL

If I remember correctly, you don't exactly need the corps of the very same NPC you want to seed.
You just need some seedable NPC standing on top of a seedable corpse for this thing to work

Tried the workaround yesterday got from the same group of NPCs 5/6 seeds planted. But it seemed not to work for everybody.

I did the quest some days ago and had the same problems. Tried a lot and only worked for 1/6 at the beginning. I asked support for help ingame and continued trying the workarounds from the forum (killing, not looting, hat a lot of corpse and from time to time it worked with one them).
So when the GM wrote me a message ingame to help me, I had finished it a minute before.
So don't know what he could have done to help, but he said he knows the problem and could help with it. So perhaps - ask for ingame help.

This workaround worked for me today.

    Kill one human mob.
    Wait for it to respawn.
Position the respawn on the corpse of the first kill, but don't kill it yet.
Use 'E' on the first kill.
Now kill the skeleton that spawns (preferably away from the first corpse)
Wait for a respawn and repeat process, always using 'E' on the first corpse.

The first corpse despawned for me after three seeds were planted, but I just started over.

It's a dreary, long process and I wish ZO would just fix it.

I've posted a similar workaround as @Gillysan‌ above, in the other thread

I didn't see this thread before posting.

Basically you have to make sure that you have a 'living' enemy for the seeds to work, and if you can keep the enemy (and yourself) alive, you can use him multiple times.

EDIT: message posted before I was done typing :)
