How many Alts do you use for Mules

    Bank space is at 130.
Main (148 inventory) - store all mats (woodworking, smithing, clothing, enchanting) that are stacks < 100.
Alt 1 (130 inventory) - all stacks of 100 + all armor being saved for trait research.
Alt 2 (80 inventory) - all mats associated with beverages
Alt 3 (80 inventory) - all mats associated with food
Alt 4 (80 inventory) - all special items (trophies, disguises, special quest items etc.) I want to save.

All only use about 80% of their inventory except when I'm holding inventory for transfer between alts. Management is pretty effective. Only down side is the login/logout bit. I only do this once per play session, typically at the end of the session. Mats from decon of items get stored in bank easily, provisioning items build up in my main's inventory til it's full. That takes about 5-6 hours of gaming to do. But I don't raid crates and barrels like I used to for provisioning items. Most of those I only keep 100 of, save the rarer items like salt and pepper.

Really the poll should have had a zero option vote. That being said I have 5 characters I actually level and play. So 2 mules for that really isn't so bad I guess.

    0. But I buy the bank and inventory upgrades and use the pack horse on my crafter. I focused on 1 craft area at a time, so I cleared out and reused the storage space. Otherwise, I would never have enough storage.

3 main characters, one in each faction and 4 storage mules (which i started leveling too).

7....all nearly full and still more stuff to collect.
Who know there was a whole food structure for each different faction.......not enough space to do Food and Beverages so the liquids has lost out and I have to delete it when I loot it. (I know im gonna regret that later)

I started off with one character per craft with two mules. Now that I've learned most traits on each character's craft of choice (and since I got each character 50 items worth of saddlebags on their horse), I pretty much only need the mule for provisioning materials. I could probably go down to just one if I felt I needed to.

So i upgraded my mules bags already quite a bit and still need space so now im giving them 50 slot horses , it costs just 12.5k each , much cheaper than buying that much on bag space at this point.

7x50 = 350 new slots , it should help for a while once i finish.

Sadly I hate that we have to do this, it just seems wrong and not lore friendly to the game.
It's perfectly lore friendly. My Dunmer has 4 Argonian slaves who he owned and named since their hatching:

    • Makes-Good-Slave
    • Just-An-Inventory
    • Holds-Many-Things
    • Argonian Savage Made This

They all equally obey their master giving purpose to their otherwise futile lives in service to a higher being: a Dunmer of Morrowind. Seems lore friendly to me. I can even RP beating them to sleep every night with my Lava Whip >:)

1 is pure mule, then I have 5 characters that I don't consider alts and I do all 6 crafts.

Get your kids their own accounts! Maybe someday ZOS will do what they do in EVE where you can move characters between accounts. They even have a forum section for selling "pilots". Sold for in-game money or for PLEX (which is basically like in-game money).

I have one main and 7 mules now.

Even all of them put together with a few bag upgrades each are not nearly enough for me.

lol. Hoarders called, they want you on the show.

Use drink mats to build provisioning skill on all your characters. More hirelings, and (maybe) extended duration passives.

0, but almost every drake went into buying more bank space (minus the cost of two ~42,000 horses—but the first of those was a draft horse to increase PACK space so I don't know if that counts).

On the plus side I didn't need to spend gold on gear...on the minus side in addition to having no bank space from crafting mats, I also didn't get much income from selling things—because until I hit 50 for Clothier, Blacksmithing and Woodworking, nearly all of it went on the decon pile, or took up more space until I could research its trait.

I selected 1, but my real answer is 0. I don't use so-called "mules". I have one character and she does all of the crafts. Three of the crafts were maxed by level 50 the others are now in the high 40s. The reason why I did this is I detest the idea of having to switch back and forth between characters just to make something. I have plenty of inventory space what with purchasing larger bank, more bags, upgrading my horse to have bags. I gather what I need when I need it and focused on one craft at a time, alternating from one to the other to keep their respective levels about the same.
