Alfiq
A quadrupedal form of Khajiit, the Alfiq is, in many respects, similar to a common housecat. Although diminutive in form, the Alfiq retain the keen intelligence of the Khajiiti, having the ability to understand the spoken word of others, although unable to respond. It is possible that they can cast spells.
You may as well load up a trebuchet full of diseased cats and be able to zing them across the wall of the keep you are trying to take. The cats when landed then damage enemy players inside the keep with disease as a result.
That suggestion is on par with some of the crazy suggestions I've seen as of late like flying mounts, guns and being able to kill children.

You dont havto slay cats, but why not let us who want to? Sounds a bit selfish?
Oh wait you're serious aren't you?
Well, maybe they should be killable with the Justice System update (and may as well make the bounty for killing each 9999999g).
Ofc im serious, there is very little difference between a cat and a mudcrab really.I dont see why cat & dogs couldnt be part of cooking & alchemy recepies etc. Would make sense really.
Because most people's RL cats and dogs are important members of their family and seeing people running around killing them in game would be just as distasteful as seeing people running around killing children. RL crabs are something you eat at the sea food restaurant. Pretty simple really. As a cat lover I'd like to thank ZOS for that!
I dont buy that. If people cant distinguish between whats real life and fiction they should perhaps find some other hobby and not be playing games or watch movies either really.
Just because it's fictional, and not real life, doesn't mean that it doesn't illicit an emotional response. That is the definition of good fiction. I'm not in favor of censorship, and of course there are going to be games and movies where children and animals are tortured and killed, but those are going to illicit a very different emotional response than what ZOS is going for in this game.
Yes, but we are talking about cat & dog npcs in a game here, last time i played skyrim i coud hunt for deer, rabbits and rats and what not. Rabbits are a common pet aswell as rats?
I see what you are saying, but this really boils down to an emotional issue, and you can't apply straight logic to it. Yes, rabbits and rats CAN be pets, but they are more often food or pests in Western society. Dogs and cats are almost exclusively pets, and very beloved pets. I'm usually a very logical person, but am very close to my pets and find it emotionally distressing to see cats or dogs killed or tortured in movies. I understand that movies where that happens are usually dark and trying to illicit that response. I understand that, I'm not confusing real life with fantasy. I'm saying ZOS isn't going for a dark/horror feel where we see gore and beheadings and children and pets being killed.

I'm expected to put up with dog and cat eaters, as well as those whose cultural slogan is "girls are for breeding, boys are for fun."
Well, others can suffer my ethics, too.aipex8_ESO wrote: »aipex8_ESO wrote: »aipex8_ESO wrote: »DaedricCheese wrote: »DaedricCheese wrote: »My cat is on my lap right now.

Well, many trite stories also go for the "kid in danger" angle, because that elicits an emotional response from most humans.
My tabletop group made a point of avoiding "kid in danger" hooks in all our various games, because it was just too hackneyed and trite.
Oh, and where I live, pet rats are illegal, and you'll get your butt hit harder being caught with one of them than with an ounce of marijuana.
And I will always fail to understand why it's OK to fear APBTs, but it's wrong for me to cross the street when I see a suspicious looking human wearing a suspicious looking Hefty bag.
Thanks @AngryNord, If you'd have read more than the title you'd have seen I covered that in the OP.
I think it has been proven time and time again that killable cats & dogs in game would be both logical and an addition to crafting etc. And for the sake of those who wants to protect them by all means, make the damn critters marriable

Kitten-hide jacks, anyone?

Same goes for kids, maybe? Not every country has minimum age of marriage laws you know - so in the name of multiculturalism ...(some countries that do, set it as low as 9 for girls for religio-historical reasons - if we're going to bring in cultures that think it's OK to eat cats and dogs, then let's by all means bring in cultures that don't recognize the same marriage laws we do. And after all, hippies have been bellyaching since the 1960s about how old-fashioned and restrictive our marriage/sexual ethos is, and have been begging us to be freer like those more enlightened, sexually free cultures where they marry kids and have sex with everything that walks because it's a right to.)

I do see a repeated defence here of, "Because they may be a Khajiit relation or sub-species". Fine, come a Justice system, if any Khajiit's spot me killing one so I can go fishing with it's guts / use its pelt in crafting then I guess I am in for a fine. As long as there IS a discernible difference between one of these Alfiq and a domestic cat so my guilt or innocence can be proven.
