Hello everyone. If there's ever a question as to what you believe to be permissible or not in-game, you can report the incident or the players in question and we will investigate each report fully and take the appropriate actions. Reporting incidents in-game is the preferred method for reporting violations, as the in-game reports contain important information that help in the investigation process.

See our Support article for more information on reporting players in-game.

While that's nice and all, what about those of us who are actually wanting clarification?

Since ZOS policy is to never share details of any action taken against players, how are we to know if what they're doing is considered an exploit or not?

Shall we just assume that it's permissible and all start doing it because ZOS has the communication skills of a brain dead fish?

@ZOS_AlexD Simply put. Is it a bannable offense to port to a camp behind enemy gates? Do we have to try it to find out?

I ported to one of those camps at one point.

    1. I had no idea that you couldn't place a camp behind a closed gate (Thought it was a really credible tactic actually)
    2. I also had no idea it was against the game intentions until I came into these forums a couple of months ago.

Just saying if y'all follow the link and do some research . http://www.ncsl.org/research/telecommunications-and-information-technology/state-laws-related-to-internet-privacy.aspx#CollectPI For people that don't comprehend reading simply states no companies in which we pay for services online are allowed to give out any information to anyone about you . That includes all your ban happy ladies and gents.( Side note this is how Facebook and twitter make Millions of Dollars cause you sign up free formally providing them your personal data , at which point they can sell to third party businesses to spam you to buy stuff. Food for thought.) And just to point out for all the players that are international based. ZoS only has to operate under U.S privacy laws as that is where the main headquarters is located. that ghartok gate youre talking about has been opened twice since reset, so if someone logged out in there then dropped a camp when they log in, it isnt breaking any rules.

and just to clarify, you can never be banned JUST for respawning at a camp. half the time i spawn at camps i do so instinictivly and just click on impulse the first thing i see when i died.

im not trying to defend people if theyre exploiting through gates, but if they didnt capture the scroll and died with it, all it did is promote attention to the issue of this being a PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED, that zos hasnt fixed since the issue has been originated reported MONTHS ago.

This, its a completely legitimate tactic and until zos says otherwise or makes it impossible to log out behind a gate/drop a camp there then isn't it just solid strategy?

Yet you constantly snort about zergs both here and in zone. Further you come to a notoriously zergy server, purposely putting yourself in Zerg land and still complain! So if you love "farming" zergs so much, it's a mystery why you constantly complain.

... please quote me here complaining about zergs. i dont know how many times this needs to be explained to you (im guessing 5 more times at least lol) but i farm zergs, and have no problem with them. thats why we guested to thornblade, to farm zergers.

go ahead, go find a quote, take your time. also, i feel that even tho its been explained to you before, i should point out that "zerging" and "zergball/blobbing" are two different things. but you should know that... (lol)

when you see me trash talking them in zone chat, thats to get them to feel ashamed of zerging so the semi-decent ones of them will break away and make a real group, and get better at the game. thus, i inspire these zergers to have the ambition to be good players. you are welcome.

So you need zergs but want to shame people away from playing the game the way they like to play. Non withstanding that many people disagree with your assessment that Zerg fights are somehow inferior, lol. Just because you don't prefer fighting alongside large groups doesn't make it inferior. Not everyone who plays alongside zergs ball up and spam aoes.

no offense, I am sure you are a very upstanding person in real life and all that... but this is the internet... where people spew *** into the high heavens and lie all the time... so forgive me if I don't believe you at all so prove it, I really doubt you saw someone hack through a door, far more likely you're full of it and just like everyone else blowing something way out of proportion. Zeni will fix it and this won't be a problem anymore, they have several ways of going about it as have been stated in this thread.

It is pretty sad that they cant answer our simple question. If it is not allowed to place a camp there after the gate has closed then they should make it impossible to do so as someone could easily do it on accident. I never look to see if the gates are open or not. I see a multicolor x on the map and travel to the closest available point near it. I did this when all this started over a month back. I spawned right near their transit shrine and it unlocked that shrine as available to port to now. I never use but it still looks like I could. I would definitely think that should not be legal but I havent heard anything on that either.

Well, I don't have a video, lol. Yes I saw player a on one side of the gate, approach the gate, then poof player a is on the other side of the gate. Btw it wasn't his home gate:)

Player A was witnessed placing a camp. Hmm. Many of us ask " how did you place that camp" before porting to it. I wouldn't port to a camp like that unless it was pretty clear it was legitimate, and we've reported our own who admitted they somehow exploited to get through a gate. I think it's reasonable to expect this sort of play in a true competition.
