Here's something else they said I could try. They didn't really make any promises, but since NewBlacksmurf is still not getting any relief I thought I would share:

Close all Elder Scrolls Online windows, then follow these steps:
    1. Right-click on the launcher and select Properties.
    2. Choose the Compatibility tab
    3. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" box and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" from the menu.
    4. Check the "Run this program as an administrator" box
    5. Click OK.

**For anyone else reading this, please be advised this was suggested based on my O/S and hardware configuration in the context of an open ticket. It may not apply to you so don't go flaming support. They suggested this to ME not everyone. I'm just sharing in case you want to TRY it out of desperation. :p

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I never open the game from the launcher. You can also start the game directly from the client's.exe file without going through the launcher. I set an icon for both the launcher and the client's .exe file on my desktop. To get to the client's .exe file, go to your computer's Start menu-->computer-->Program Files (x86)-->Zenimax Online-->The Elder Scrolls Online-->game-->client. In that folder, there should be an .exe file named "eso". Right click on it and select Send to-->Desktop (create shortcut). If I know there is an update to download, I will run the launcher to get the update, then close the launcher and start the game from the client's .exe file.

Well this not helping to this issue when i have from the game beginning always started game with out launcher and still i have same "Data load failure" problem.

I've tried all the other tips I've seen. Including delete all addons folders, etc... I received an email from ZOS telling me they were aware of the issue and to play on the Public Test Server until they figured out what was wrong. This isn't acceptable in my eyes. I guess I'm gonna have to cut my losses since they refuse to refund the time I've been, and will be, unable to play on the live servers. If it isn't fixed before my month is up, I'll have to cancel. There's no point in paying for something I can't use and I haven't been given any kind of time estimate, compensation (of any sort), and have largely been ignored by customer support. I'm going to continue keeping my ticket open to ensure the topic stays known to support from me.

Hey there, all. Our team is still looking into the issue. In the meantime, if you continue to experience the error, be sure to keep reporting the bug to our team, providing as much detail as you can so we can get this taken care of as quickly as possible. Thanks, everyone!

I keep getting this *** error for the past 2 months.

This error is extremely annoying. I've seen that it happens whenever there is a missing mesh (resulting in a red cube).
Now, I have been getting red cubes since beta, but no "data load failure" errors. But at some point during past patches, you introduced this annoyance (possibly to debug the red cubes), and now I have this popup window ("data load failure") that alt-tabs my game every few seconds.

Please, if you cannot fix it, at least make the error fail silently, rather than alt-tabbing to display a popup window.

I VERY frequently suffer from this problem as well. thought at first it was because I have an older laptop that is slightly outdated as far as tech goes and heats up pretty bad at times. But I see now that this is not the case. I'm on a mac so it's not just a OS error either. Instead of my game minimizing to show me the popup however, mine just pops up in front of the game screen.

Then again, I always run my game in windowed mode. Mainly so I have a better chance at being able to close the game when my whole screen decides to freeze up, and not have to do a complete hard reboot. Which I still have to do about 15 times a day while playing regardless. Lately it's gotten really bad, especially in highly populated areas. I always see the "missing" red boxes too, but didn't make the connection between the two until now. Sometimes I don't even have time to finish walking down a street after the game starts up, without getting the popup, and If I don't allow the crash to happen, and don't close the game right at that moment, then my whole screen will shortly freeze up leaving me no choice but to shut my computer off and reboot.

I spend about 75% of my game time rebooting, or restarting, and waiting through endless load screens to get back into the game, just to have it happen again about 5 minutes in. Being in the "city" areas of the gameworld, or areas with a lot going on in a condensed space(like in huge battles when it's the worst possible time for it to happen), seems to make it worse also. I'm not sure that is related to this particular error, but it could be.

Also I've noticed that my crosshair/cursor toggle function is always glitching and either trying to be in both modes at once, or switching to cursor mode without warning, while I'm being attacked, making me unable to fight back and getting me killed alot.

I get this error maybe once a session. I have never gotten it more then 1 time and its never caused the game to crash.

I'm running the latest AMD beta drivers, which the name beta is kinda a misnomer as they only support the newest games with beta drivers as standard releases are far less frequent.

as crazy as it sounds, try updating your sound drivers and network card drivers. Updating sound drivers helped performance for me. Outside of that, I'm not sure what else to do.

perhaps all of us should run SHA256 hashes against the files in the elder scrolls client and compare, when we find a file that the hashes don't match, that should narrow it down. We should all have the same file hashes on the game client files outside the my documents folder.

I just uninstalled again BUT this time I deleted ALL the folders and any files that could in any way come with this game.

Then I deleted my other PC games. I don't play em.

Now restarted. And starting from scratch.

Still nothing from @zos_jasonleavey so I have a new ticket.

The title is an actual finding not a trolling statement.

They have no idea what to do to resolve it.

There was the one comment to run in win xp sp3 comparability mode. Maybe try that after running repair.

It's getting to be really ridiculous now how something like this has gone on for so long and has not been fixed yet. Reminds me of Skyrim's really bad CTDs. Also, I have no idea what team those reports go to when we do send crash reports because we never get word back and it seems nothing is ever done about issues we do face that cause the game to CTD. I just managed to update my video driver through Nvidia's website. I'm going to try playing the game again for as long as I can, and if I run into another Data Load Failure, I'll be sure to let you know here of my findings.

If it does happen again, then I'll try switching to Windows 7 Basic if prompted whenever I tab out of the game as well. It's ridiculous that I would even need to do so for the game, though, because I have 16 GB RAM and only use 10-20% of that when running ESO.

    FYI:
I just uninstalled everything and then deleted the folders. After clearing those deleted files and uninstalling the game I freed up 80 gig of HD space.

I don't run addons nor do I participate in PTS.
Why was the game taking up 80gig? Of my HD

Hey there, all. Our team is still actively investigating the issue, but we have yet to identify the cause of the error, as it seems to occur for different reasons. If you have yet to do so, be sure to submit a ticket, providing a Game Consultant file to our Support Team.

We will provide an update as soon as we have more information. Thanks again for your patience.

I worked with Jason's team and the problem was resolved for me. The best thing you can do to help them figure this out is to do what Jason is asking. Open a ticket and give them the Game Consultant file. This is the most valuable information you can give them. Patterns will develop and problems will get resolved.

If you want to go it alone, my suggestion is to generate a game consultant log file and then rename it "Before Updates.txt" Next go out and update your video and sound drivers. If applicable, change the launcher to start in WinXP Compatibility Mode with Admin Rights.

Play the game for a few hours. Generate another game consultant log file and rename it "After Updates.txt".

Now open a ticket and send them the files. Tell them your results. Tell them if this fixed your problem or not. You will not only help yourself, but others as well.

    Good Luck!

P.S.: When I updated my video drivers, it tried to "optimize" for ESO. It set the video resolution to low and everything looked bad. I changed it back to "High" in the game and left everything else.
