v1.3.3 - CRASH: Data load failure.

Just experienced the game crash on my end due to a Data Load Failure, and I'm wondering if anyone else here has experienced a similar issue after the v1.3.3 update and if some help could be received for the issues I've been experiencing in-game?

Specs: Intel Core i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50 GHz and 16 GB RAM
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670
- Driver Version: GeForce 335.23 Driver

^ Whereas after v1.1.X, the game was running beautifully at 60 FPS on max settings, now I have to keep the View Distance below 50 to get it to run at a steady 60 FPS ever since v1.2.X as well. There have been moments where there are no players or NPCs around and the game just randomly has lag spikes and drops below 30 FPS, and I'm not in Cyrodiil.

I tried updating my video card driver, but when I enter Nvidia GeForce Experience's Drivers menus to update to 340.52 and start the update, it states it can't connect to the Internet...when I obviously do have a working Internet connection. My thoughts are that the driver being out-of-date could be part of the issue here, but it's strange because I do know there have been several other people who have had issues with lag and crashes ever since 1.2.X released.

Any word on what the issue could stem from? Because it's most definitely not my specs that's the problem here as I can run high-end games with no problem on my PC on max settings.

Edit: I should also add that each time I tab-out of the game in Fullscreen (not Windowed) mode, I constantly get prompts for Windows 7 to revert its color settings back to Basic instead of using Aero. If this is really the case, it looks like it could be a potential memory leak issue. I have yet to test it out with the Task Manager, but if it happens again, I'll be sure to do so and report on my findings there as well.

How did you miss this massive thread that's been on page 1 of the index for weeks:

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/121309/zos-data-load-failure-is-still-a-huge-problem-and-your-support-team-has-no-idea-what-to-do

'Search' is a useful tool, maybe worth researching.

There's no reason to be rude.

If you look at that thread, you'll see I posted in it after it got bumped up again. Sorry that I don't have all the time in the world to go look up the thread when it was past midnight that I posted this topic and started the new discussion from the homepage of the forums--not the Customer Support forum.

If you have nothing better to do than bring people down on the forum instead of address the problem the user had in their thread on the forum itself, it's best you leave the moderating job to the admins here, if they feel the need to close the topic. I didn't see any of you complaining when there were pages full of bot reports on this forum back in late April / May / early June.

Regardless, my point still stands that this is now happening on my end after the v1.3.3 update.

    It's a bug since 1.2.x patches.

Noticed that after I posted the thread myself, but it's strange because I haven't ever crashed prior to v1.3.3 from a Data Load Failure (I've had multiple instances of BSoDs in v1.1.X, though none of those either in 1.2.X).

It's definitely a server-side issue that I hope gets fixed sooner than later.

Considering that those of us who are less fortunate than you have had this bug for over a month, I wouldn't hold my breath for a quick fix.
The strange thing is how it still throws you to the desktop. It's a jarring debug dialog that is appropriate for a beta release, but it has no place in a finished product. If you fail loading something, you try again, and if you fail multiple times, you either give up silently (possibly with a discreet marker to tell where the object should have been, not a huge bright red box) or bail out to a loading screen while you reload everything.

Switching to the desktop and leaving the game running in the background seems like the least appropriate action, and I simply cannot understand why they did that. It escalates a comparably minor glitch to a crash to desktop.

It seems like what could be causing this to happen for so many people could be the way the world is being rendered now. I do remember that, after v1.1.X released, red missing boxes for objects that failed to load appeared in the game. It's a similar bug to the glowing pink tree stumps back in Skyrim (oh, Sep bites us in the worst ways at times).

Simply put, the edits that they are making with each new update seem to have an issue finding the code for these objects to properly load in-game, causing the Data Loss Failure. It's possible that this could be due to the server lag causing issues with it skipping over essential lines of coding to have these objects load properly. I agree that something like this shouldn't cause you to CTD. It's an issue comparable with the many CTDs Skyrim would have over the simplest objects failing to render properly in-game.

Yeah, you will see red boxes with 'MISSING' in game occasionally, when the engine in under load - this has been the case since beta. In 1.2.x it was changed so the game goes to Desktop with "Data load failure" error message. I've been getting it since 1.2.3.

So instead of just keeping you in the game and displaying the MISSING boxes, they find crashing you to desktop is the better route until they can get around to fixing the issue?

    /facepalm

Well, all I can hope is that this never causes me to lose quest progress, but it is still a really aggravating error on the server-side. Some of us like ourselves have seen it happen before, most certainly, as we've been here since beta but the CTD has never happened to me in the past. Then again, though, I haven't had a BSoD since 1.2.X, so maybe this implementation is something they have temporarily put in place to avoid that from sparking up.

    Forgot to update this topic:

Haven't had a Data Load Failure CTD since I managed to update my Nvidia video card's driver version to 340.52 and also re-installed my game's files entirely (stripped my PC of all ESO files I had on it and re-installed it this morning cold turkey). It's possible this could all be server-side still and that it just hasn't happened on my end yet in regards to the DLF error, but I would say it's just best to be sure and check your card manufacturer's website to ensure that you have the most up-to-date video card driver and then perform a re-install just to be sure afterwards.

Framerate is still questionable for me. It drops below 30 FPS when View Distance is set to 100 when just a few players are on screen (not normal at all, considering my PC's specs). With the Craglorn update, I ran this game with everything maxed with no qualms whatsoever, and it was mainly due to the Exclusive Fullscreen mode being implemented.

Red "MISSING" boxes have been here since beta. They have diminished (in beta they were around every corner all the time) but have always been there.

The artdata "data load failure" started for most at 1.2.3 and later.
